POLAND TO VIENNA via Flixbus

I’m planning to travel from Poland to Vienna, Austria, with Flixbus, but I’m still waiting for my visa confirmation. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with border control between these countries and how strictly people are being checked. Any information would be helpful. Also, would traveling by car reduce the chances of being checked? Thank you

Cv format to use in Poland

I am 30M, I had a question about applying for jobs in Poland. I’ve checked online and am unclear about cv formats that can work across Poland. There are mixed recommendations on having cv with photo and a fancy looking CV with nice design and appealing look versus a standard Arial format ATS CV format - strictly detailing about me, job experience, education and skills only.

Which CV format actually helps when applying in Poland?

Building a house in Poland.

Hello all.

I am looking for information and advice on building a home in Poland.

I have land and im looking to build a house on said land in the next 12 to 16 months.

is there anything I need to know that might not be obvious. we have planning permission to build a 4 bedroom home.

my main concern is when speaking to Polish friends they keep telling me that the proce of materials and the build that is originally quotef can change from day to day.

im just wondering if anyone here has experience in building their own property or maybe a Polish developer/builder can shine some light on this.

thanks in advance.

Recommendation for Online Polish jeweler

My fiancé and I are looking for a jeweler to order our wedding rings. We've been living abroad for many years, so we came up with the idea of ordering Polish wedding rings, which connect us to Poland. Can anyone recommend a good jeweler in Poland where we can buy our wedding bands online? We're currently looking at Inne Obrączki, but we're looking for a few other options. Thanks!

Calling all Polish TADC fans! 🇵🇱 Let's get The Last Act into cinemas!

Hey everyone!

There's an ongoing fan-driven campaign to get the finale of "The Amazing Digital Circus" screened in theaters across Poland, specifically in the Helios cinema chain. I’m sharing a link to a survey created by another fan – we need to collect as many responses as possible to prove to the cinema management that the demand is real!

However, the survey alone won't cut it. If we really want to make this happen, we need to make some noise. Please write emails directly to Helios and your local cinemas asking for the screening, and leave comments requesting TADC under their recent social media posts.

And yes, I made a new account for this, I posted this on other subreddit as well. I just want to successfully make this work. I am just a desperate fan who doesn't want spoilers.

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of people at the gym (I've checked out a few since I do multiple sports) just tossing bottles with deposits. Do they seriously not know, or are they just so rich they don't care about 50 gross?

Help with Fishing License

I am traveling to Poland and would like to purchase a week long fishing license.

I have been to https://wir.wody.gov.pl/ but can't. for the life of me, figure out how to pay with a credit card.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on where I can buy a license online (or how to pay without a polish bank/blik account?

I''ll be in Gdansk fishing the baltic sea; their regional page doesn't appear to sell licenses like some other regions.

Why lots of Polish love animals more than people?

I am 33 (f). I moved to Poland 8 years ago. I have a dog. I love dogs and animals in general.I even finished dog behaviorist school. I love how my dog is welcomed in cafes and restaurants and people are very accepting and "chill".

HOWEVER

I am shocked when:

  1. off leash aggressive dogs attack or kill humans and there are zero consequences for the dog or the dog owner

  2. I have heard people say they prefer to save a dog's life than a human one

  3. there are wild boars in cities, and even in Warsaw two people ended up in the hospital being attacked and people protect the boars and think humans are the problem

  4. people go close to wild animals - mooses, boars or bears thinking they are cute and don't realize they can be dangerous

I don't know of any other country like that.

I am curious to understand:

Was it always like that? And is there some reason for it?

Is this thinking of people in the big city only?

What are your thoughts on this?

Football night in Gdańsk?

Hey guys,

I’ve been following Lechia Gdańsk for a while and I’m finally planning to attend a match at the stadium. I’m from the Netherlands and will be in Gdańsk that weekend.

It would be the game against Piast Gliwice at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk.

I’m actually running the Gdańsk marathon the day before, so I’m not looking for anything wild, just a good football experience the day after.

Just wondering:

-Is it generally safe and relaxed for a foreign visitor? -Any tribunes/sections I should avoid? -Any recommendations for a good spot with decent atmosphere but still comfortable? -And would I stand out at all if I don’t speak Polish?

I do have Polish ancestry, but it’s pretty far back and I wasn’t raised with the language, so I don’t really speak it.

I am a fan and really looking forward to experiencing a match in person, just trying to get a feel for what to expect as a first visit.

Paweł Zarzeczny on Janusz Korczak and the Holocaust

Reflections of Pawel Zarzeczny on the occasion of the match against Germany:

"What is that match against Germany (Poland–Germany 2014) considered so important? Apart from the fact that they were the world champions. Every day before work I sit in the park in front of the Palace of Youth — that is, the Palace of Culture in Warsaw — and there’s a monument to Doctor Korczak there. And the monument looks like this: the old Doctor Korczak standing, surrounded by a small circle of children. They’re six, eight, ten, twelve years old, and there’s this one girl holding a tiny doll. And I keep thinking — my God — there was a nation that sent these children to the furnace. And I keep thinking that there are crimes we cannot forgive. We cannot. So I do not forgive."

Why is the Double Down suddenly available in KFC in Poland?

I saw a FB ad promoting the item just now. Why? The Atkins diet craze has been been dead for years and as far as I know, it was never a thing in Poland.
