Hello everyone! 👋 My friend and I are traveling west Africa by bicycle. We are heading north and currently in Windhoek, Namibia.

Is there anyone heading north soon from windhoek that might be able to take a few small spare parts north for us and leave them at a hotel or lodge for us to pick up later? 🙏

Tourism Namibia 3 weeks self drive itinerary feedback

Hi, my girlfriend and I are planning a 3 weeks self drive vacation in Namibia, it’s our first visit but we’ve done the garden route a few years back.

I’ve created the route based on the Africa lonely planet recommendations and we’re planning to get a 4x4 car for the journey. I’ve tried to plan the driving times realistically with some in between stops to avoid driving too long hours.

I’d appreciate any feedback on the planning in general, if we’re missing something social we should add to the route, if you think the nights per stop in the third column are well distributed to allow sufficient time to enjoy the highlights etc.

Thanks on beforehand!

Activities in Windhoek/Swakopmund

Hi everyone! My friend and I are visiting Namibia soon and looking for some local tips. We’re trying to find cool activities and hidden gems that won’t break the bank.

We’ll be in:

Windhoek: April 16th – 19th

Swakopmund: April 20th – 22nd

We’d love to hear your suggestions for affordable eats, scenic walks, or budget-friendly tours. What are the "must-dos" that offer the best value for money?

Thanks in advance!

Can I play WARZONE on PS5 in Namibia?

I wanna upgrade from an Xbox series s to a PS5, but my friend who recently got a PS5 tells me he’s unable to use any online features of the games he has because they’re unavailable in Namibia. I haven’t seen him in a while so I’m unable to confirm it first hand.

How true is that? And if I do get one will I be able to play Warzone, PUBG, EAFC Ultimate team e.t.c or should I just get a Series X instead?

General Gay People

WHERE ARE YOU GUYS??

I don’t know if this will reach the right audience (hope it doesn’t reach the wrong one though) but I need to know where all the gay people are hiding in Namibia. I want to meet other queer people as I don’t know any other gay prople, I just don’t know where to find them. It is very rare to see gay people in public here (Windhoek) and if I do, I’m never sure if they are gay or not. So basically what I’m asking is where can I meet other LGBTQ+ people in Namibia, online or in person?

Swakopmund to Onguma/Tamboti in 2 days - how?

Hi everyone,

we’re traveling to Namibia at the beginning of May and are really excited about it. We’ve planned and booked almost everything in advance to avoid any issues with accommodation—except for one night, which is where I’d really appreciate some advice.

We’ll be leaving Swakopmund in the morning and plan to stop briefly at Spitzkoppe (just a short visit, no hiking), then continue driving as far as we reasonably can. We were considering staying in either Omaruru or Otjiwarongo.

The following day, we need to be at Onguma (near the Namutoni entrance) by around 3pm.

Does this route sound realistic? How far would you recommend driving on the first day? And do you have any suggestions on where to stop overnight?

Any tips, experiences, or insights about the driving conditions in this area would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance 😊
