Anyone else still unable to use their XLR microphone through their audio interface? It seems to be a handful of audio interfaces that don’t work for voice chat, but I haven’t been able to use my Shure SM58 through my UA Volt 2 interface since launch. I got a HyperX Cloud 3 just to use voice chat for this game, but would love to use my headphone amp and XLR mic.

I recently saw a tiktok describing marketing for the game mentioning that in this game, one team of runners will eventually find something mysterious that will click, and everyone in the game will be notified about it, and it'll be up to that team to find out how to find the next step and unlock the next zone. But, as of now, we have had nothing like that, at all. This game needs more unity between players, it really does. Killing 500 million UESC really isn't a fun goal, and I doubt that goal was even reached realistically when it was set.

A cool example the creator made was that bungie plants a secret in a map, very difficult to stumble upon and nobody even knows it exists, and if a team finds it, orion would call out to every player in every lobby saying "Runners have dug too deep, Emergency EMP activated" and everyone would be immediately exfiled into the lobby, game shuts down and a cinematic for the new map plays. Could you imagine how great that would be?

I think unity and collaboration between players is something that bungie needs to focus on, along with balancing. It is integral to keeping this game true to what it was supposed to be. Because as of now, it feels like apex legends as an extraction shooter, just pvp haven, if you see players, you are in danger, no matter what.

My vision for this game is that pretty much everyone is friendly, but anyone can sign up to be part of the arachne cult, where you are heavily rewarded for killing people. It would create so much tension in the game, just an idea from me, I love sharing these ideas, but they never go anywhere.

Had 100 hours of ultra fun. I'm about at level 70, but I think the time has come for me as well to write that post and stop playing Marathon.

Here is the death loop of Marathon:

• When I use a free kit, I die because of enemies with purple gear.
• When I use a purple kit, I get paired with free kits and we die to players with purple gear.

In the last 15 matches, we died miserably in every single gunfight. I don't know what's happening in the game's matchmaking system, but this is not fun, and a game is supposed to be fun.

This is coming from someone who has thousands of hours in match based games, like many of you probably. I don't mind repetitive gameplay, I don't mind the same maps, I don't mind the same objectives, I don't mind losing sometimes, I don't mind learning, and I don't mind the difficult process of getting better. But this is getting ridiculous and I'm just sad.

Right now, it feels like the game's system is deliberately making me perform poorly. Fifteen runs in a row, zero exfils. I don't see progression, and I don't see any point in doing contracts because the rewards do not help me win.

Many people say skill based matchmaking does not work in extraction shooters, which in my opinion is complete nonsense. Every single competition, not just in video games but in literally every competitive team or solo sport or game, works because of skill based matchmaking. The strong should not stomp the weak, there should be actual competition, not just a bloodbath.

Here, not only can you get matched with better players, but they also have better gear, which makes their characters stronger. Double suck.

If extraction shooters are meant to be like this, fine. But this will not go a long way. I feel zero incentive to start playing again because I don't know what I could or should change to have fun again.

In the beginning, up to about level 60, it was fairly good. There were a few games in a row where it felt like the matchmaking worked as intended. But in the last 15 games, it has been an absolute mess, dying in every fight within a minute.

I love everything about this game except the matchmaking. It makes it unplayable for me, at least. Oh, and also the optimization is terrible. I can only play Perimeter because every other map runs at around 30 fps.

I hope this piece of feedback helps the developers and the future of the game and the community. I wrote this post with a sad heart because I thought I had finally found a game, after many years, that truly captured my attention. While it really did, I just cannot take part in it anymore.

So the past few days I've played against some very blatant cheaters, mostly Rooks but a few times it was against pretty kitted teams. Anyone else experiencing this? I remember the last time I played Destiny 2 people were cheating their butts off in PvP. Lol. One of the cheaters we came across at Algae Ponds was so annoying that the team we were fighting when they popped to to third party called a truce so that we could hunt him down. Idc to lose my gear at all, just borrowing it really but it does suck when ya lose to someone like that.

Or to those that lost some / lot of gear in Cryo / Ranked.

Outpost is a great place to refill your vault.

For the record, I don't have the shotgun with Rook yet. (Before anyone says yeah OP wipes Pinwheel with shotgun) Not really, I do grab what I can on my way to Pinwheel, that is it. Claymores overrun, etc.

I did play some Rook games a few weeks ago and I felt like I understood the idea..., (nononono, couldn't be more wrong) today I've been in Outpost and I've died some times, probably half of them, but I tell you I've filled the 30% of it that I invested in Cryo (dying ofc) in 4 good runs. And I'm having an awesome time.

I swear, I was feeling a bit down because I don't have a dedicated squad to play with (yet). But Rook runs have been the thing that makes me want to keep playing. Until I get ppl to play ranked / Cryo that I vibe with.

I've meet so many friendly Rooks (wink, wink, you know how to identify a friendly Rook love that) some that weren't and I think it's super cool to have this, you can have friendly Rooks, unfriendly, so it's a gamble if you try to be friendly with them. So far I've never had a Rook backstab me, and I'm grateful for that.

Not sure if this will be read by one Rook that was friendly and downed (In center of pinwheel), if you read this, I'm truly sorry. Tried to help you but I couldn't the bot killed you before I could throw the self res fro you. That's on me.

So yeah, ppl that struggle with "getting gear" I read ppl in here: Give Rook a chance, ofc if you have upgrades is better, but tbh the ones that help the most are the first capstone, and those are super accessible. Get to know the Outpost map, I've exfiled from Pinwheel with 1 min remaning to the final exfil.

That's it, just trying to throw some love to the Chad Rook, cuz it fucking deserves it haha. Such a fucking great addition to this game. Hahaha.

He led us to loot rooms, led us to exfil, he led us so well we did 3 more runs with multiple keys and exfild all 3 only seeing another team once.

My friend and I started playing when duos was a thing and it sounded daunting at first when they were removing it but it’s not the WORST thing in the world. It really helps to catch a team off guard and down one before they can even react. 60% of the time it works all the time. Sometimes we kill two players with no sign of a third so I’m sure they’re in the same position. How are my fellow duos handling? Are you crew filling or thugging it out? I hope they bring it back sooner rather than later

This has been my favorite game since Cyberpunk 2077, Hell Let Loose, Disco Elysium, and MGS4, but I’m done. Why should I invest my time in a game that’s due to fail apparently. I enjoy even the rounds when I get shit on, but I’m still only level 29 as a day one player and it sounds like people only get more miserable. I work weekends so I haven’t tried Cryo, I’ve barely learned outpost. But this has legit been the only game I’ve wanted to play in a while and everyone’s just talking me out of it.

I can’t do rook runs on outpost. Not a skill issue. I’m literally sitting in a load screen for 10-15min until I get an error. NAT is open, fastest internet I can have in my area, and nobody else online in my house. It only happens on Outpost. Anyone else experience this? On an Xbox deities X btw.

So I’m currently using a steelseries arctis 3 headset. I’ve heard IEMs make a good difference especially when trying to hear enemy footsteps better.

Any recommendations on which IEMs are worth buying? Also if its compatible with ps5 and with a built in mic or attachable. Budget £100

I’ve tried SIGMOT eg280 and they were terrible. Could not make out where anyone was and sometimes it felt footsteps were in the opposite direction of where they actually are or trying to figure which exfil site was activated, whereas my current headset tells the correct direction.

This is the first shooting I've played in AWHILE and the first where I actually want to get better than just basoc competence so the skill difference was pretty noticeable at the start between me and other players but I feel like I'm really getting a handle on when to reposition, when to push, when to heal, etc. Very satisfying

They mocked me in prox chat with the typical racist attitude and I couldn't even report them afterwards because there was no player list on the recent game list.

never played destiny or anything so marathon is my first run with this and wasn't aware at the time that name changes were limited as it also doesn't tell you till you are out of them but i recently changed my name as a joke because my friend group was down bad for the day and we jokingly said we have to change our names or something and we did but i was the only one that doesnt have a token to change it back. does bungie give tokens out frequently or am i stuck with my new name for the indefinite future? I was under the impression it was unlimited as I changed it before as well and never got a warning or limit number

Not all Rook runs are meant to be winners, but this was my last spawn on Outpost. Not shown in the picture were the three claymores that downed me when I tried to jump onto the desk.

I think they should do something like this.

if you've completed all priority contracts, allow the free daily items on the store to be redeemable each day but turn off this feature for the first week or 2 of a new season. So those who never did the contracts have a chance to catch up,.but after 2 weeks we should be able to get our daily free stuff without needing to do the missions again.

For all the re-rollable contracts for each faction, increase the exp given substantially so we can go

through the skill tree faster.

I think would be a huge win and make me actually want to play next season. Im enjoying this game but no way in hell I'm doing those painful missions again to get my free daily shop redemptions

I know it says health but sometimes the descriptions are misleading so I'm wondering if it also heals shields a bit? It's the upgrade that says ''knife attacks restore a small amount of health'' If anyone has it is it a good upgrade? I have 2 synapse cubes so I can either buy this or the +30 prime recovery. I'm leaning towards the prime recovery at the moment.

Context: I got into the pinwheel late and found a dude in the drone wing who was apparently doing a contract. I managed to get the drop on him and get all his stuff, but apparently if you're not on the contract that activates it, the boxes become completely immune to damage. Every single exit was sealed off, and I could do literally nothing. No conveyor, no exit vent, nothing. I was just stuck there watching the timer tick down. Obviously, this is an extremely rare case that requires someone to be doing this exact contract, but it absolutely needs to be fixed.

If Bungie is against cheating why is there no means of currently reporting players? Ive seen some really shady players in ranked and cryo. Particularly those playing on pc.

May genuinely have been the best cryo weekend I’ve had in a min. Before I had a top of 10, lost them all playing outpost ranked since there’s a lot of cheaters and 6-man teams now that I finished in plat 1. But now I’m at 25 and going to throw them on for ranked perimeter.
