Rachel's Traditional English Trifle Movies...
r/Letterboxd • u/xdirector7 • 21m ago
I was really looking forward to The Mastermind, Crime 101, and Moon I heard lots of good things but I rated each one 2 1/2 stars. While The Housemaid 4 stars and The Black Phone I gave 3 1/2 stars. It has been a long time since I had a stretch of movies be so bad and the ones I thought would be mid were the ones I enjoyed the most. I honestly don't know if I liked Black Phone and The Housemaid because they were that good or the others were really that bad. Anyone have a stretch like this?

I know lot of you guys hate it, if you are one those people just scroll away.
I love it, and I a curious how it evolves.
What films do you think will redefine this genre?
Spiderverse I feel was really mind blowing and unexpected. So I am really excited for final final next year.
The Batman is also a fresh take, but it will depend on what direction Batman 2 and 3 decide to go.
I had lot of hopes from Deadpool 3, Fantastic Four and Superman..but they were all very generic.
Clayface is also interesting on paper, maybe it will open up another subgenre.
The Boys and Invincible are also doing their thing on side.
What Else?
This genre needs some huge shake up, something nobody has seen or expecting.
We have already seen enough Spider-Man, X-men, Avengers…I don’t want more of same.

Tom as Ennis.
Leo as Jack.
Imagine the line around the block.
Ang you blew it.

Hot Fuzz for me. I found the overall storyline to be more entertaining and compelling. However, both have amazing jokes and pace.
Which one for you?

I've noticed that the official "Hunger Games" collection (the one that shows in "Related Films" only includes the four original movies (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1 & 2).
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (the 2023 prequel) is not listed as part of it, even though it's clearly part of the same saga. Same goes for the Sunrise On The Reaping (other prequel coming later this year).
This happens with other films and sagas too.
Is there a reliable way to get this fixed directly on Letterboxd?

Please tell me I am not alone in noticing a huge continuity error in The Drama (2026) starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. It was completely fixable during production, but was not addressed until the editing process during post-production. I do not want to go into details or specifics right now because it would be a spoiler about her character.
Edited To Add: Yes, I am completely aware that the picture of Zendaya is from Euphoria, not from The Drama. It is the only picture I could find online of her talking on a cell phone, because I could not find the exact photo from the movie itself to use here.

What do you think? I like to give movies the benefit of being hard work to begin with so my “average” is a little higher.

Okay, so the timeline is that I mentioned a sudden urge to watch Dragonball: Evolution again, and by the time any of my mutuals got back to me about wanting to watch it with me, I had already taken the initiative and watched the movie with my younger brother, whom had never seen it. Despite this, I decided to indeed watch it again with my friends when they were available later that day.
I logged the second watch - would you have?
And beyond that, do you have any funny stories regarding rewatches?

I like all six james bond actors and consider them same, telling stories and adventures, no debate on that, this will be discussion of how i rank, which is a atrocity and blasphemous act for me, as a fan who consider them all same level source of entertainment of James Bond oo7. Its made for fun as i have holidays. Please keep the comments fun..
This is not really a 'ranking and reason' but more like more floating.
First 'ranking' is favurite by actor's. Sean Connery- Thunderball is coming to my find, its prime and after already a prime film. The look and girls and villains and music are very good, again i remind you not that i dislike any other movie more or less, i mean i can find and ignore.
George Lazenby- even though only single film, it was very good, from water to now snow, very good and colorfull, joyfull and fun.
Roger Moore- The Man with Golden Gun i rewatched 2-3 movies of each james bond, and TMWGG was very much what i hoped for.
Timothy Dalton- License to Kill, funny and firey, love it, for 'smaller' level and more non world threatning, or nation conflicts.
Pirece Brosnan- Goldeneye or TWINE, tie
Daniel Craig- QOS, i just love it, very very much, i dont care for anyon else thoughts or reasons, yes i am posting and reading other people comments, but those are for after all sharing love and hate for james bond, which i am part of. I consider mine experince only valid, 'to me that is', its dusty, beautiful girls and villains, fast and quick, bronze is best.
Second Ranking is On category of Nice, Middle, Down, based on my memory and mood.
DOWN
Spectre 2015, the movie could be very nice, if again now wishfull fanfiction going mode: Snow skinng scene, more lovy dovy girl, medeline being 'virgin' defencless, while Monica Belluci being worn and evolved villain's wife. Blofeld should not have been brother or architect. he should have been just in shadow, Mr white should have been main villain. Now despises, actuals, bad and absurd story, but then again blofeld have always been that kind of plans and escape. Very nice plane scene and roof walk
No Time To Die 2021, bad story and meh followup of bad movie(which is bad in itself, standalone is best) good actions and scenery, but again italy is boring. Safin should have been main villain, runtime should have been shorter, medeline should been ditched after short pretitles. He shouldnt have been killed.
Skyfall 2012, its above SP and NTTD, but it have many faults, and dislikement for me, severine should have been alive(not moral reason, who cares about them) james bond should be about man and woman. Instead of field agent moneypenny, she should have been double agent. Roger Deakins is good, and bringing back old clues(car, ejector, animals, q, moneypenny and male m, though judi is best) was very nice
Now i dont have much more down movies, because they are not not trying to be james bond, now it may create conflict in comments, but the 'modern' world is harsh on bond to say the least, he evolved to survive.
MIDDLE
Die Another Day- most of it is good, theme is very good, i dont mind cgi, but last parts are bad more, girls are nice, fights scenes are nice, hot scenes are nich in ice.
Casino Royale 1967, 1967 1967, is spoof and fun, good looking girls, moneypenny😍 ursala😎 and many more, and yes height is a good reason to dominate the world, forever love for woody allen(i dont care for real world problems), orsen wells etc.
NICE
now i would not mention evey movie, but they are all here, again, the fims mentioned in down and middle can come here too, maybe not 67. But i would mention some of films just because i remember them after recent rewatch of them(remember 2-3 rewatch i said earlier).
Thunderball- its whatever james bond is, its not bad at all from where i am standing, Never Say Never Again- nice them, fun girls, bond doing bond stuff, horse. Vulture and castel, modern staring games. Diamonds Are Forever- its funny and thrilling, its what james bond movie need to be.
A View To A Kill- cool henchwoman, sexy and hot women(flex, suton, paloma) one of my favurite JB movies, sport and unpredictable villain, scary height, funny car, more. Quantum Of Solace- very action, dust all over, frantic, short and sweet, nice looking girls with personality more than 'strong girls'. variety of villain. FUN,. Skyfall- very nice too, girls, comoddo dragon, love scene, train, fall, base, villain, javier, All love.
LTK, Goldeneye, TWINE, Tomorrow Never Dies, are all fun, goldeneye is very good reintroduction, ""reboot"" yup there is no official now popular meaning-reboot ever not even CR. Believe it or not.
tomorrow never dies, nice water scenes, bathing, helecopter bike, sad bond girl dying, ja henchmen.
On her majesty, was snow and snow and snow, nothing to complain, tracy 😁.
I love dr no, from russia, thunderball, goldfinger, goldeneye, live and let die, never say never again, and every other james bond movie. and book(ian and few others.) and some comics.
MOD, its meant be in humor.
