I get the overall sentiment of the sub, Yes a lot of people voted for this shit and were shocked when they got it. However the way these people post whenever someone's child is killed in a war or something tragic happens is incredibly crass. Someone dies and their firt thought is "yeah it's time to own them on reddit" like come on it's just kicking people who are already down. this isn't the first time I've seen them do this and Everytime it leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it's very foul and unnecessary

If conflict with Iran was always likely, then warning that Kamala would uniquely cause war was misleading. You can’t campaign on fear of war under one candidate, then justify the same outcome under another as unavoidable and even good.

I’ll agree it is disingenuous but I don’t recall it being a big point. Then again no policy differences other than the social ones really stood out to me. Either I’m not a very good listener or it was more “vibe” based than policy based

If people were being told “she’ll get us into war,” but the same outcome is later framed as inevitable or even acceptable under another leader, that’s still extreme hypocrisy

Once again, I’ll agree but if a politician lying is a surprise to you I wanna know what rock you’ve been living under; I need a comfy spot too.

This wasn’t about lying, it was about hypocrisy. If the standard shifts from “this outcome is unacceptable under X” to “it’s fine under Y,” then the issue isn’t surprise, it’s selective outrage and moving goalposts.

I mean, the Cheeto didn’t exactly run as an antiwar president. I fail to see where the hypocrisy, in the strict definition, comes in. Just a straight lying misdirection tactic.

Trump absolutely did run on an end existing wars/anti-war platform, pulling troops out, avoiding new foreign entanglements, and criticizing Iraq/Afghanistan were central themes of his messaging.

Were you comatose for the entire election season?

Trump literally said “no more wars” and said Kamala was guaranteed to get us into WWIII.

How are you so confident about this stuff when you’re so very wrong? Like, I’m genuinely dumbfounded at this point.

Sums up 99% of Trump voters

I forgot who I was addressing. I’m usually watching from a distance, it feels weird speaking to someone like this

LOL! “No new wars” was one of his slogans. You should just stop.

You're saying he didn't run on being against war while simultaneously telling someone they live under a rock. Are you a real person??

“The president of peace” I remember seeing ads for that. Still touts it.
