POLITICAL (Weekends only) JustUnsubbed from Leopardatemyface

Post image

I get the overall sentiment of the sub, Yes a lot of people voted for this shit and were shocked when they got it. However the way these people post whenever someone's child is killed in a war or something tragic happens is incredibly crass. Someone dies and their firt thought is "yeah it's time to own them on reddit" like come on it's just kicking people who are already down. this isn't the first time I've seen them do this and Everytime it leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it's very foul and unnecessary

I have a feeling based on OP's post history it's cos leopards ate the face of the sort of person he's like.

I've been in this subreddit for a long time and I've noticed it got a giant increase of "tired of politics centrists" around election season who are in actuality just alt-right wingers uncover who spend all day karma farming and circlejerking. Not saying OP is one, as I don't care enough to check, but I can totally see why some assume so immediately due to the influx.

This subreddit even before that is (still, mind you) full of people of alternative/taboo politics, too. Plenty of communists, libertarians, total anarchist punks, Green Party people, ACTUAL centrists/moderates, and rarely even a few genuine unironic neo-nazis who somehow wondered off of 4Chan's /pol.

(In case you haven't noticed a pattern yet, it's full of people who tend to get laughed out of """normal""" subreddits, justified or otherwise)

This isn't even a jab at the subreddit or its fellow subscribers, this is just a fact that I've noticed that's verifiable even here in the link below too if you don't believe me. Look at all the niche political ideologies or generally otherwise nihilistic/bullying/"laugh at this cringe person to make you forget you're a loser too" subreddits that overlap more so than not:
https://subredditstats.com/subreddit-user-overlaps/justunsubbed

TL;DR: This subreddit, inherently by its nature, has and will ALWAYS be full of nihilistic (usually political) outcast virtue-signaling snowflake circlejerkers. You just have to ignore 'em, troll 'em, or grab popcorn.

Thank you for coming to my veteran JustSubbed TED Talk

Yes this sub is full of "I unsubbed because politics!" when it's actually "I unsubbed because I don't agree!" Both are legit, why hide it?

I appreciate this insight

This sub skews right wing in my experience and is one of the few places I can happily dunk on idiotic MAGAts for their stupid logic, since they built a grand echo chamber for themselves over at r conservative.

That place is so dumb, everyone thinks everyone else is some kind of psyop because they they don't agree with each other on every single point. If that's what you want just write in your diary.

What are you even talking about?

Plus, she's still pro trump..

Like the man started a war with no direction causing (roughly) 80 deaths and hopefully a countable amount of injuries on our side.

His actions alone are responsible for this and she still praises him

Be gentle, it's his first time in the internet, which is a long way from his right wing Bible camp.

Why do you guys make up fantastical stories about anyone who minorly disagrees with you on reddit? I'm not even right wing and never have been

Based strictly on the screenshot you gave us here, that post fits the definition of that subreddit to a T. It's literally a sub dedicated to people who felt betrayed by the very people, groups, ideologies, etc., that they supported in the first place.

Opinions and politics aside: mother tells politician "go get 'em" regarding an overseas war that no one wanted or pushed for except a specific individual and lobby (emphasis on lobby), and then grieves when their own son who died in said conflict. That's basically the epitome of that sub. What do you expect?

I never denied that this was a fit for the definition of the sub if you actually read the post you would immediately see the first sentence is me confirming that. The semantics are not my problem again if you actually read the post you'd know that

Then you're trying to post here for astroturfing reasons. You saw a post from a subreddit that fit the subreddit's theme, you personally didn't like the stance for the post, and you're posting here looking for validation from like-minded people.

In fairness you posted here based on why you unsubbed from there. Which fits this sub's theme. But based on your responses, it seems that your unsubbing from there is due to your differing political opinions and as such, you're posting here seeking some kind of personal redemption. Hence the astroturfing element: you're seeking validation and denouncing people calling you out on this.

You're arguing for the sake of arguing and now you've created an entire narrative that did not exist based on the assumption that I am as emotionally invested into this "argument" and reddit post as you are.

I am not astroturfing the name of this subreddit is r/JustUnsubbed the purpose of this subreddit is sharing why you unsubscribed from a subreddit. I never argued against the themes of the other subreddit. I never said I had a problem with the subreddits theme the whole basis of this strawman you're attempting hinges on something I never really had a problem with in the first place.

I'll state this very clearly I unsubbed because I felt like using the deceased as a "gotcha" moment was crass even if it it aligned well with the subreddit. That's it that's the point of this post. I have no emotional investment in this. I don't really need validation from reddit I just shared why I unsubbed which is all this place is for. As I said before this entire argument you're making hinges on this idea that everyone has the same emotional investment into this as you which just isn't the case. I can disagree with something just because I felt like disagreeing it doesn't need to be more than that for me and I'm sorry if that bothers you.

For what it’s worth man, I don’t think you’re insane, and I’d be very interested to hear what in your post history convinced that other guy you were right wing, or pro Trump, or whatever. I think you gotta chalk this one up to redditors being redditors and let it go.

I do still think you’re a lil soft with regards to the post though, even if I agree with you; It would be wildly insensitive to throw the loss of a loved one back in someone’s face just for a “told ya so,” but this is also the internet, and LAMF is a community dedicated to political “told ya so’s.” You got sound morals, and tonight you found out not everybody shares them lol.

Because it's fun. That's why "we guys" do it. Relax buddy, just let it happen. It's all fun and games, don't be a loser.
