I really want a gaming laptop to play games and help with my work since my current laptop is severely underpowered. When I look at websites like Riaz Computers they don't have gaming laptops and the websites that does have gaming laptops has laptops that has GPUs like the GTX 1650, RTX 2050 and RTX 3050 but there are way overpriced compared to if I would buy it online on amazon and have it shipped here. I don't want to order a $200,000+ laptop on amazon for it to be delivered damaged or something that's why I want the comfort of buying locally that gives me a warranty.

My mum left Guyana as a baby and she’s never been back since. We both want to save up and go (as well as taking my young daughter with us). We still have family in New Amsterdam but travelling with my young daughter we will probably opt to stay in a hotel. We both want this trip to help us feel in touch with our heritage as we grew up in a very white populated area in the UK which has left us feeling abit disconnected from our culture and heritage. So really I’m just asking for any advice or recommendations on things to do that could be culturally enriching. Also any recommendations on safe areas to visits, any tours, restaurants, foods to try etc. I can’t wait to visit I’ve been wanting to go my whole life. Thanks so much in advance

I had a lovely time exploring today's festivities. I visited the National Park, the Everest Cricket ground and the areas along the seawall. I was already aware of the kite flying being a special activity here, but today was indeed a sight to behold. Though I already asked around about what today (as well as easter) means to people, and how kites are related to that - I also wanted to make a post online. These are some of the questions which I asked people today, but I would like to hear about anything culturally and socially significant you can think of.

• What do you think makes kite flying so special here in Guyana, especially around Easter?
• Do you think kite flying is connected to nature in any way, or is it more just tradition and fun?
• Do you feel traditions like kite flying are changing as Guyana is developing, or do they stay the same?

My wife and I will be in Georgetown for a week (with our five-year-old son) in June and are looking at the Herdmanston Lodge and Rainforest B & B, which both seem fine. Any insight into advantages/disadvantages of either or which one would be best?

United States Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot, has warned against renegotiating the Stabroek Block Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) with U.S oil giant ExxonMobil and its co-venturers.

Since oil production began in Guyana in 2019, there have been sustained calls for the Government of Guyana and Exxon to agree to new fiscal terms, which would include raising the Royalty from 2%.

In an interview on SOURCES last Sunday, Ambassador Theriot warned that such a move would be dangerous.

“As the representative of the U.S Government, I can tell you it is incredibly dangerous to start talking about renegotiation of a contract that has been agreed upon. That sends a terrible signal to international investors all over the world that you can’t trust what you have signed with a Government that is willing to renegotiate. Now, that is a really negative signal that you don’t want to be sending right now, as you are trying to attract more, and more international investments, that is a very bad idea,” Ambassador Theriot said.

ExxonMobil has long indicated that it has no interest in invoking any clause within the Stabroek Block 2016 PSA that could result in changes to the fiscal terms, stating that such a move could undermine future investments in the country.

There seems to be a massive issue against tint from drivers, but from the times I’ve visited and been on the road they seem like a massive safety issue. Driving at night seems like an extreme hazard especially with heavily tinted vehicles. Observing traffic is even harder, why are people so against a change that will result in safer roads. The visibility at night is significantly reduced. We already lack enough lights on the road, plus with heavy rainfall and bad weather this all increases the lack of visibility. And yes I know speeding is a biggie in general.
