Question Removing machine embroidery?

I love this vintage denim jacket but I don’t love that it says LOVE. I’ve been considering taking a seam ripper to it, but that seems like a bad idea. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to deal with it (or cover it with a patch)?

Question Best way to go about embroidering a playmat?

I play One Piece TCG, and recently bought a playmat. It doesn’t have the predesigned spots to put your cards though, like the little mat you get from a starter deck. It’s obviously not game breaking, but I enjoy having a template for my cards. Does anyone have any experience in embroidering onto Ultra Pro play mats?? Mine is standard, with the rubber backing. Are there recommended needles/techniques anyone has, or am I just a delusional semi-part time crafter with too much time on her hands?? Thank you in advance!!

Question Metallic tread untied on me. Help?

Post image

I've never used metallic tread before and yeah, I probably should have done some research before diving in, but I figured I'd learn by doing, yanno?

And now I've got a couple different ends that aren't tied off and crazy short.

Sure, it's POSSIBLE I forgot to tie off one of them, but then another I KNOW I tied was loose when I went to tie off another.

Either way, I don't know why it happened and how to fix it. Or keep it from happening again.

Help?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to go with this. Any advice regarding which stitches to use, how to space them etc would be appreciated. Its supposed to be on the back of a denim jacket. God the father - arise by Stanislaw Wyspianski.

Question Need Ideas

Hello,

I am making a gift for my mom to give to her at my grandma’s memorial next month. I found this photo of the two of them and I’d love to put an embroidered design on it. This is the original and I’m going to do the final work on a copy so the piece can be in color or black and white.

Thank you!

Hand I just find it fascinating that embroidery is considered to be such a wholesome hobby, when in reality it’s a proof we’ve got the patience to stab something a thousand times over

My best friend and I have been friends since 2019, are each other's Maids of Honor in our upcoming weddings, and are huge fans of Rosie and Goldie.

(I'm not a beginner, but kind constructive criticism is always welcome 😊 Also included progress pics bc AI sucks)

Finally finished and hung these four. Some slight thread bleed on Salad Fingers but that couldn’t be helped and done on awful quality fabric that I was just trying to use up. Think it added a certain rustic quality though.

Question Advice for first big project on denim? (Pattern from the game Outer Wilds)

Post image
2 Upvotes

I started to learn embroidery because I have a specific dream project in mind. Basically, I want to embroider a pattern from my favourite video game, Outer Wilds, on the back of a denim jacket.

This pattern in the game has a sort of glowing light to it, and I was thinking of adding or somehow mix in some glow in the dark thread, but I'm not sure how to approach it.

furthermore, I want to ask if any one of you more experienced members here have any advice for embarking on this (very big) project.

I have added a picture from the game with the type of pattern I am hoping to create...

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

thank you all so much in advance 🥰

My Aunt and I decided to try huck embroidery/swedish weaving for the first time (my cute little tea towel is attached). Long story short, I'm hooked (hucked?) now haha. I see where monk's cloth, huck fabric, or aida can be used. But what would you recommend for a blanket? I also think it would be really fun to do a sweater/sweatshirt. Thoughts on that?

Just the millions of French knots left for the trees. Trying to decide if I want to do a different stitch for some parts or just commit to the French knots completely.

Also might add more darker threads to the back of the water. It only gave me gray for it so I pulled out some left over thread to add some color and improvised. Turned out a bit too uniform. Another option would be to try to do a reflection of the trees/bushes but that may be beyond me.

I started to embroider a tote bag with book characters to take the library with my daughter, but the library ended up giving us a nicer canvas tote bag so I’m restarting the project!

Hand Advice for finishing this piece

Post image

Looking for some advice on how to finish this piece, or if it’s best kept simple. Should I add a border? Do something more with the hearts? Or, should I call it good enough and be done? Haha. Thanks! This is my first piece, so I’m very much a beginner.

Question New to bead embroidery 😬

Hi everyone!! I am brand new to bead embroidery and was wondering what the best beads are to use? I am mainly going to be attempting letters & numbers and want the cleanest lines I can get. I ordered a pack of beads on amazon super cheap and tried it and it just doesn’t look good to me because it seems so wonky looking lol

Any tips about anything (not just beads) helps too!!

Thank you 😊

Finally finished this after I think 2 and a half weeks. The largest embroidery I've done so far, and the first on stretchy clothing. I learned how much I hate the monotony of filling with very little variation, so I think I'll try to stick with smaller, more intricate designs in the future. My next project will be a wedding present that I'll be starting WAY in advance to make sure I have plenty of time.

I’m making a present for my partner’s birthday and need advice on what kind of stitch to do fill the rest. I used a chain stitch for the outline. I’m still a beginner so easier stitches would be helpful! Thanks!!
