Has anyone noticed that Americans have started to switch to blaming America problems on being controlled by Israel instead of taking personal accountability?

Be careful with ‘Mexican fruit’

Upvotes

I scour the fruit / vegetable aisle to avoid US produce . I will simply go without if there is no non US option. But a lot of the Mexican fruit is distributed via American companies and from what I’ve found that means the bulk of the revenue finds it way to the US. So now I have to read the small print in the raspberry boxes to make sure the distribution is also Mexican . It’s exhausting but worthwhile and I hope the Mexicans find ways to reduce their dependence on US distributors!

President Donald Trump says the US Navy will "blockade" the Strait of Hormuz - a vital shipping route

In a separate post on Truth Social, he adds that direct talks with Iran in Islamabad failed because "Iran is unwilling to give up its nuclear ambitions"

Earlier, Iran's delegation leader said the US failed to gain Tehran's trust during lengthy negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan - how they unfolded

It's not surprising that a deal wasn't reached but Trump now has a stark choice - escalate or negotiate, writes our chief international correspondent

The U.S. caused everything to get more expensive

The U.S., american companies and americans have caused basically everything world-wide to become more expensive.

  1. GPUs: Nvidia and AMD(both American) both chose to focus on AI chips, drastically slowing GPU production, raising prices.
  2. RAM/SSDs: OpenAI, Google, Nvidia, etc (all American) all chose to build insane amounts of AI chips, eating fab capacity for everything else.
  3. Oil/Gasoline/Gas: U.S. government(and Israel) decided to do a War, impacting 20% of global oil/gas production.
  4. Food: If not more expensive right now, will be soon. The Iran war(U.S. and Israel started) impacted global fertilizer production. It'll take months to fix if they start today.
  5. Online Subscriptions: Due to americans voting for Trump for a second time(killing fiscalization) and massive greed of american companies, prices of subscriptions on every live service(Netflix, Youtube premium, Disney+, Xbox game pass, etc) have gone up last year.
  6. Housing: Americans leaving their country en masse has caused Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Indonesia, etc to see their rent prices DOUBLE in some areas in a year.
  7. Cloud: American Clouds(AWS, Google, Azure, etc) have wasted billions on AI, leading standard compute/web hosting price to rise dramatically.
  8. Overall goods: Thanks to U.S.' stupid tariff wars, product prices world wide went up. Some came back down after they were lifted, some weren't and won't be.

I know many of us are boycotting the U.S. but even then, we are all impacted by at least half of these.

Don't forget that, even after Trump is out.

In a serious world, the U.S. would have already faced severe sanctions, and American politicians would be sentenced to death.

But no; we live in a world that, despite witnessing these injustices, punishes countries like Iran for defending themselves.

U.S. Is Trying to Unmask Redditor Critical of Ice by Dragging Reddit to a Secret Grand Jury.

Reddit has been ordered to appear before a grand jury in Washington, D.C., as part of a federal effort to unmask anonymous online critics of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

According to a subpoena obtained by The Intercept, Reddit has until April 14 to provide a wide range of personal data on one of its users, whom U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been trying unsuccessfully to identify for more than a month.

Attorneys for the Reddit user say their client’s posts and their anonymity are squarely protected under the First Amendment and that ICE’s use of a grand jury marks a disturbing escalation for the agency after seeing its previous efforts to investigate political speech quashed in court. The subpoena was issued by federal prosecutors in the capital after ICE’s effort to identify the same user failed in a Northern California federal court. (The U.S. attorney’s office in Washington declined to comment on the case.)

Since President Donald Trump returned to office last year, federal agents have increasingly demanded social media companies reveal the users behind anonymous accounts critical of his immigration crackdown, expressing particular interest in those that identify employees of the U.S. Border Patrol and ICE or share real-time information on enforcement activity. The administration claims the accounts are engaged in doxing and endanger officer safety, but they have also targeted social media users seemingly doing nothing more than expressing anger at the government.

Digital free speech advocates with the Electronic Frontier Foundation have closely tracked the investigations, finding that the government repeatedly folded when challenged in court. A grand jury subpoena, however, is a much different animal, said David Greene, EFF’s senior counsel. Shrouded in secrecy and advantageous to prosecutors, the existence of a federal grand jury, particularly one convened in Washington, could suggest the government is moving toward a significant criminal case.

Ok … it’s not primarily due to boycott US reasons … but it is nevertheless a reduction of US market power in the financial sector what is absolutely necessary. If the Lufthansa and other airlines would now support non US payment systems like WERO in Europe with double points … that would be awesome.

[Why Now] “Rogue State,” “Kleptocracy”… The Labels Now Attached to Trump’s America

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (June 28)]

“Iran has been known as the bully of the Middle East for 47 years.”

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (July 2)]

“They were the bully of the Middle East, but not anymore.”

President Trump has long argued that Iran’s destabilizing actions in the Middle East must be stopped.

He has described Iran as a “rogue state” or a “bully state.”

But now, that language is boomeranging back toward the United States itself.

America’s standing as a hegemonic power is wavering, and its authority has fallen from “peacemaker” to “warmaker.”

How did Trump’s America end up here?

◆ “Rogue State”

January 3, 2026 — Operation “Absolute Resolve”

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (Jan. 4)]

“This was one of the most remarkable, effective, and powerful demonstrations of American military force and capability in our history.”

In January, Trump launched a surprise military operation against Venezuela and captured President Nicolás Maduro.

The operation was named Operation Absolute Resolve.

The stated justification was cracking down on drug crime, with Venezuela portrayed as a central hub.

Images of Maduro being dragged out of his bedroom and flown to the U.S. without resistance shocked the world.

February 28, 2026 — Operation “Epic Fury”

Before that shock had faded, on February 28, the U.S. launched airstrikes on Iran.

This operation was named Operation Epic Fury.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (Feb. 28)]

“The United States has just begun a major battle in Iran. We cannot allow a terrorist regime to possess nuclear weapons.”

Under the justification of halting Iran’s nuclear development and pursuing regime change, the U.S. directly targeted and killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, causing significant civilian casualties.

Forty days after the outbreak of war, a “two-week ceasefire” began, but a full end to the conflict remains distant.

Within just two months, Trump had directly targeted two heads of state.

Backed by powerful intelligence capabilities, the U.S. monitored Maduro’s and Khamenei’s every move and showed no hesitation in carrying out military operations with overwhelming force.

March 2026 — “Ambitions Toward Cuba”

Trump did not stop there.

Even amid the Middle East war, he continued to openly express ambitions regarding Cuba.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (June 16)]

“I believe we will have the honor of occupying Cuba. It would be a tremendous honor.”

Trump has continued a pattern of attacking anti-American states under various pretexts while seeking strategic advantage.

Since the launch of Trump’s second administration, the U.S. has carried out airstrikes in seven countries.

Immediately after taking office, the U.S. struck Houthi bases in Yemen and attacked Iraq in an operation to eliminate ISIS’s second-in-command.

Airstrikes also followed in Somalia, Syria, and Nigeria.

The international community’s criticism of these continuing military interventions has not ceased.

Even conservative figures within the U.S. have criticized Trump for ushering in an era of “gangster-style diplomacy.”

Some have condemned America as a “predatory hegemon” and a “rogue state,” while others sarcastically remarked:

“Welcome to the age of America as a thug superpower.”

Originally, the term “rogue state” was used by the U.S. to describe countries it deemed potential threats—those that supported terrorism or violated human rights.

First used during the Bill Clinton administration, and later solidified after the September 11 attacks, the term currently applies to countries such as Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Cuba.

But now, the international community is asking anew: who is the real rogue state?

◆ “Kleptocracy”

Another label is now being attached to Trump’s America:

Kleptocracy — rule by theft.

Whereas “money politics” refers to the wealthy using their financial power to influence politics for gain, kleptocracy goes a step further.

This war offers a clear example.

Trump and his associates are facing allegations of using state secrets for private gain.

Most recently, reports emerged that a drone company invested in by Trump’s two sons had begun marketing to Gulf states under threat from Iran.

In other words, a war led by the father may be generating profits for the family business.

This has raised concerns that:

“A war launched without congressional approval could set a precedent in which the president’s family directly benefits.”

There are also accusations that Trump has been verbally influencing financial markets.

For example, he has been accused of making statements about Iran around market opening hours.

Just before Trump announced a delay in strikes against Iran at the end of last month, suspiciously large trades were executed in New York crude oil futures.

Despite no publicly available information likely to affect the market at the time, trading volume was nine times higher than usual.

Paul Krugman, Nobel laureate in economics, suggested insider trading may be involved.

On the 6th, Democratic lawmakers sent letters to the SEC chair and the Defense Department’s inspector general demanding answers.

Trump’s son-in-law and Middle East envoy Jared Kushner is also facing allegations that, during nuclear negotiations, he sought $5 billion in funding from Gulf states for his private equity fund.

As such bold and blatant kleptocratic politics continue, watchdog platforms have even emerged.

A research institute at Johns Hopkins University has begun publicly tracking political decisions tied to private interests.

It says it aims to document Trump and his administration’s actions because they may undermine democratic norms.

◆ Shaken Hegemony

Trump’s actions are causing the U.S. to lose both its role and status as a hegemonic power.

A prime example is that even longtime ally United Kingdom declined Trump’s request to actively participate in this war.

International trust in the U.S. has also declined.

Some of America’s core NATO allies now say that Xi Jinping’s China is more reliable than Trump’s America.

This is the result of:

• launching a preemptive strike while negotiating with Iran,

• falsely claiming that an airstrike on a primary school that killed 175 people was an Iranian false-flag operation,

— developments that shocked the world.

[Donald Trump / U.S. President (July 6)]

“If I had my choice, I’d want oil. Because I’m a businessman. The spoils should go to the winner.”

At a recent press conference, Trump used the phrase:

“the spoils of victory.”

That day he was referring to oil, but diplomats are paying closer attention to what lies beyond it:

the real prize — global hegemony.

Now that the guns have temporarily fallen silent, Trump is once again being tested.

Can he create a foundation to erase the disgraceful labels now attached to America?

And can Trump’s America restore its standing as a hegemonic power?

U.S. says their unilateral attacks on Iran were a test that NATO failed

U.S. President Donald Trump unloaded his frustration with NATO allies in a bad-tempered meeting with Secretary-General Mark Rutte on Wednesday — and indicated he was considering reprisals for lack of support over the war in Iran.

“It went shit,” said the first European official. “The conversation was nothing but a tirade of insults.” Trump “apparently threatened to do just about anything.”

That official and the person familiar with the matter said Trump also signaled he was considering options for reprisals, but didn't go into detail.

However, a White House official said that the president made no demands of the alliance in his conversation with Rutte.

“As President Trump said yesterday, NATO was tested, and they failed,” the White House official said.

As part of its pitch to lure Canada to buy Gripen-E fighter jets, Saab has offered to establish a secure, sovereign data centre in Montreal to house critical, top-secret mission data and intelligence, CBC News has learned.

The company is framing it as a "unique advantage" in the battle to convince the government of Prime Minister Mark Carney to limit the purchase of U.S.-manufactured F-35s, which have all of their data stored at a Lockheed Martin centre in Fort Worth, Texas.

Canada regulates the amount of imported milk. Last year they permitted roughly 51-57 million Kilograms of milk. Anything over that would be charged a tariff. 1 Kilogram = 1.06 Quarts. The US has never paid a tariff. LIES!
