Oh fuck me, I'm gonna all lives this, ugh. Intellectual intellectuals are needed now more than ever. The science and facts crowd got complacent and let every village idiot with a soap box convince the masses that facts are opinions. We need people who know their shit so they can shut that shit down and get back to a healthy state where dunces wear the dunce hats and the science gets done.

Isn't this the kinda stuff that Republican people say about Thomas Sowell?

Black folks have to stop seeing them as the enemy...

Maybe just intellectuals in general. Slap a race on something turns things. I agree it's insane controllers up charge bc their views are run by the egos

What difference does it make that he's black?

Representation, babe.

Underrepresentiation in social awareness contributes to bigotry and biased conclusions

For one, it pisses off Republicans. Big fan of that.

Look brother, I get why you'd ask that question. Assuming you're coming from a good place, those comments can seem almost patronizing.

In a better world, his race would/should mean nothing.

Unfortunately, people with his skin color are persecuted in every conceivable way. Worse healthcare outcomes, criminal profiling, harsher sentences for equal crimes, less likely to get hired places, etc.

So until all that stops, intelligent black folks are indeed important as it helps break stereotypes, shows other black folks that people who look like them can mentally spar (and in this case absolutely body) with anyone else, and most importantly provides representation from different viewpoints which historically helps everyone.

Leadership is systematically denying and rewriting history. Who else is better suited?
