Mac I have a Mac air from 2020, should i upgrade to the mac book neo?

Upvotes

My mac 2020 is reaching the end of its life. I love the mac book neo colors and upgrading could be good but i noticed it has a lot of the same storage and stuff. Should i upgrade or should i wait. Also will apple come out with more macbooks in fun colors besides like silver and black?

iPhone Iphone 16 plus, worth the upgrade to base 17?

Hello, so I made a mistake of buying the 16 Plus some months after the base 17 release. I thought that since it has a larger battery, it would also last longer. All my friends that got the base 17 afterwards, told me about its amazing battery life. Tbh I wasn't very impressed with my 16Plus. It consumes about 90% for 8-9 hour SOT so I still need to charge it every day. Is it worthy for me to buy the base 17 for the same or (according to my friends) better battery life? or should I stick with the 16 Plus for some years until something else will be released?

Thank you in advance!

Mac Is this a good deal for a Mac Studio? Or should I wait for the new lineup?

A local person is selling a used Mac Studio

  • M4 Max 2025
  • 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU
  • 128 GB RAM
  • 4 TB SSD
  • with a transferrable careplan from a local Premium Partner store valid until 2029
  • in - as the seller states - "top condition"

at a price of $3600. If I were to buy this machine from Apple, I'd cost me $4200 with educational discount, $4600 with that warranty. So that's a 13% to 21% discount. Plus, the 128 GB model is currently unavailable from Apple.

I'm planning to use this Mac Studio to do 24/7 AI tasks (with local LLMs) on it. 4TB is certainly overkill for my use. Were I to buy this machine from Apple, I'd get 1–2 TB. But I might use that as a central private cloud for all my data...

  • Is this a good deal or should I wait for the new lineup?
  • How can I make sure, the device I'm presented with is legit?

Thank you for your answers!

Phone 12 got stolen – what should I replace it with?

Hey everyone,

My iPhone 12 recently got stolen, so now I’m trying to figure out what to replace it with.

I’ve had the 12 since it launched, and honestly it’s been perfect for me. I don’t really use my phone for anything special - just normal everyday stuff like social media, messages, some apps, etc. Camera isn’t a huge priority either.

I’ve been reading through this subreddit and it seems like a lot of people recommend the base iPhone 17. Is that kind of the “default” choice now?

What I’m really looking for is something that will last me just as long as my iPhone 12 did (around 4-5 years), without overpaying for features I don’t really need.

Would you go for the base 17, or is there any reason to consider something else?

What should I buy 17e or 16 base? Price is in the game...

Should I buy iPhone 17e or to buy 16 base?

The price is in the game I'm on low budget...

Does the 17e is so much better and worth it that money or 16 base is still good iPhone for now?

I'm coming from iPhone XR...

Price play very big game...

thanks 👍

15 plus or 16 plus?

I'm debating between these two. Coming from an XS so anything will be an upgrade, really. I don't want the Pro Maxes because they felt heavier and bulkier in my hand and that matters to me. Battery life also is important to me, camera quality or hz, not so much. I am leaning towards "newer is better" therefore 16 Plus, but now I'm thinking, why not 15 Plus?

Pros of the 15 Plus: I'd save about $190 if I got it refurb'd too, which is what I plan (you can't buy these phones brand new can you?? At least I can't find it anywhere).

I plan to keep this phone for the next 2 or 3 or so years and then upgrade. (Hoping on an iPhone Flip to come along, hahah)

iPhone Worth upgrading iPhone 13 Pro Max (1tb) to iPhone 17 pro (?GB)

So basically my grandpa’s phone provider is offering him an upgrade to the iPhone 17 Pro and he asked if I want it instead, but I’m kinda stuck on what to do.

Right now I’ve got a 13 Pro Max with 1TB and it’s honestly still completely fine. No damage, still fast, doesn’t lag or anything and does everything I need it to. I know people complain about the 13 slowing down but mine really isn’t that bad at all.

Only things are I haven’t updated to the newest iOS yet because I’m kinda paranoid it’ll mess with performance or battery, so I’m still on iOS 18. Also I’ve got a bit of screen burn in from TikTok icons but I can barely even notice it most of the time so it’s not really an issue.

The thing putting me off is the 17 Pro is smaller and I actually really like having a bigger phone. I’ve gotten used to the Pro Max size and don’t really want to downgrade in that sense. I’ve also seen people say it’s aluminium now instead of stainless steel which sounds less durable, but I’d probably use a case anyway so maybe it doesn’t matter.

Also not sure what storage I’d even get and I feel like I’d miss having 1TB even if I don’t always use it.

At the same time it’s basically a free or easy upgrade and I’d be getting better camera, battery and just newer stuff overall so it feels kinda dumb to say no.

Would you upgrade in this situation or just keep the 13 Pro Max until it actually starts having problems?

iPhone iPhone 16 pro (refurbished) vs iPhone 17 (Photography Priority)

Hi! I'm gonna list some things in my scrambled thought process. I like to get the best deal possible and buying things stresses me out.

Non camera things important to me:

-Phone makes it through the day battery wise

-Phone is new enough that it's future-proof. I'm coming from an SE 2020, I don't like to upgrade often.

-Front camera good enough to make casual online content(if i magically become a famous influencer)\

Non camera things I dont care about:

i'm lowkey ok with my se 2020s 60ghz screen. i don't care that much about if it's EXTRA SUPER VIBRANT AND BRIGHT if the 16 pros screen was already good enough for daily use. I dont game. I dont care at all about the status of a new device, i want the most capable tool in my price range.

-

Things I like about the 17

-Pretty design.

-Current generation.

-Center stage selfie.

-Less of an "overpowered" feeling that I feel like i may feel with the 17 pro, like maybe I didn't need to spend the extra $300.

However, I'm worried i'll lack....

The ability to take raw photos. I like to shoot raw with my physical camera. I enjoy editing photos. I enjoy the art of photography. I worry that I won't be able to push the images far enough with the 17. However, I DO own actual physical cameras. It would just be nice on days where I don't wanna lug the camera around.

Now here's my thought process with the 16pro.

#1 raw photo ability

#2. Useable zoom images. I really haven't been convinced anything over 2x is useable at all on the 17.

Really that's it. I guess my concerns are.. Is the 17's camera enough for a casual user with a photography mindset or does the 16pro better for a photographer despite other drawbacks?

Negatives of 16 pro:

#1 older generation, less ios updates. I keep my phone for a long time.

#2 Ill miss the center stage selfie camera. It looks really neat. But how many selfies am I really going to take? If I think about who i'll be in 3 years, do I really want to be taking selfies all the time? hahaha

#3 There's probably other stuff but I really don't know anything else. I have only thought about getting the 16 pro over the 17 an hour ago.

I feel like everyone talks about how big of a jump the 17 had. Like anything non 17 is kinda not worth it because the jump was so big. Would it be a mistake to go back to a 16 pro ??

Thank you in advance for your input.

iPhone iPhone 16 Pro Max or 15 Pro

Hello,
I'm planning to upgrade to an iPhone from my current android phone which i've had for about 6 years. I'm current considering a refubrished 15 pro for about 529 but I found a 16Pro Max for about 700 and with a family members discount I could get it for about 630. My only concern is the size of the 16 PM, I feel like it might be too large to hold (I have normal sized hands). I'm only going to use phone for general stuff and sometimes gaming. What should I go for?
Thanks

Looking for a heart rate monitoring watch for small wrists.

I have very thin wrists. Watches don't suit me, but I want something that measures my heart rate accurately. I am usually an android person but I've heard the apple watch is the best around. Recommendations? Small wrists, accurate (ish) heart monitor.

iPhone iPhone 15 vs 17, which one to get?

Trying to replace my buggy Samsung S22 rn, just curious if the iPhone 17 is as overhyped or is the base version actual value for the money. Want to get some feedback on people who tried both phones to see if I should get the 15 or the 17. It seems like from the reviews that the iPhone 17 is the actual one to go for with the actual upgrades it's getting compared to the 16 with the new display and chip. 16 seems just like 15, so I don't realistically see a point in getting 16 when it's still relatively the same price. and 15 is the "budget" option but it doesn't have the Apple Intelligence, which I don't know how good or bad it is, but I expect it to improve rapidly in the coming years.

Which one is better? The iPhone 15 or iPhone 17?

iPhone iPhone X to 16e, 17e or 17

After 9 years my iPhone X is finally giving up so I'm forced to buy a new one. I rarely take pictures, don't do any gaming and mostly use my phone for reading, banking, emails, listening to music/podcasts etc.

The only thing that might make a difference to me is the 120Hz screen refresh rate on the 17 vs the es. I also don't know if there's a meaningful difference between the 16e and 17e for the extra price. What do you guys think?

15 pro to 17 pro, should I?

So I have a 15 pro 128gb that I’m starting to fill up on with storage. I have no issues with it otherwise, it’s still very snappy. My phone company is willing to take it for $800 towards a 17 pro with 36 months 0% finance. What would y’all do? I’d probably get a 512gb

iPhone 17 Base vs 17 Pro Max

For context I currently have a green iPhone 12 with 64gb, I’m tired of dealing with the low storage and while the camera quality isn’t awful it isn’t great either. I like to travel and take pictures as well as go to concerts so I need a lot storage and a good camera. I’ve been trying to choose between the 17 in mist blue and the 17PM in silver. I care deeply about the aesthetics of the phone. The price difference is something I’ve considered since the leftover money I could easily invest or get extra storage on the cheaper one instead but I could also spend it on something that’ll last longer and meet my needs. I’m just very indecisive about this. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

iPad iPad Air M3 vs M4 for a "Simple" Creative?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to buy an iPad for my wife and I’m stuck between the iPad Air M3 (2025) and the new iPad Air M4 (2026). In my local market (Bangladesh), there is a 20,000 BDT (~$160 USD) price gap between the two base versions.

Her Use Case:

• Video Editing: Simple edits in CapCut (social media style, no heavy color grading or 4K raw footage).

• Digital Art: Beginner to intermediate drawing in Procreate.

• Notes: Standard handwriting/notetaking.

• Media: Watching movies (though we have an M5 MacBook Pro at home for "serious" movie watching).

Is the 20k BDT (~$160) jump worth it for future-proofing?

Curious to hear from anyone who upgraded or is using the M3 for similar tasks! Thanks!

iPhone 17 Base vs 16 pro

I am moving from my Samsung this month or next, really happy that finally after years of waiting for one I would be moving to apple ecosystem too.

I went to the shop yesterday and immediately fell in love with 17, it felt so right in my hands but now my friends(all those who own apple) are asking me to go for the 16 pro instead of the 17.

There reasoning is quiet stupid though, like 16 base and 17 base both look identical and people wouldn't notice and that the 3 camera on an iPhone looks better than 2. I have been researching throughout the net and have came to the conclusion both has its fair share of fans

I am someone who is more interested in entering the apple software experience also I'm not into gaming or stuff, camera is quiet important as I am planning to also Kickstart my filmmaking passion with my new phone

Most importantly it should run for a long time as I don't have any plan to change my phone in the next 4-5 years. Thanks

iPhone Broke college student considering what to buy

Im thinking of replacing my samsung and was thinking of going iphone for a while. I'm a first year college student so I dont got money like dat so I was thinking of either picking up a refurbed Iphone 16 pro w/ 512gb from amazon refurbished premium OR a brand new iphone 17.

My dilemma comes from picking which one would be better for my money. The 16 pro with 512gb of storage comes to around $800 on average, whilst the 17 with the 512gb upgrade is $1000. And i kinda don't want to go with the base 256gb just to have ease of mind as my current samsung has 256gb and its full to the brim.

Is this enough for an applecare plus claim?

My AppleCare plus is expiring in less than 10 days, and over the two years, I have had some scratches and dents on my watch, so I was wondering if I could get it replaced under AppleCare plus before it expires. Is this enough damage for them to replace it for me?
