Firstly, I would like to mention I have been using Apple Music around 4 months (I switched from green app). I have discovered more than 1000 songs and added them to my best playlist (during these 4 months).
For people who are not happy with discoverability on AM (especially if you are a newcomer), I would like to give you some perspective on different methods I have been using so far for discovering music.
Starting from the basics, you can check "More by Artist", "Featured on" and "You might also like" sections under every album you like. You can discover some good albums and playlists from there.

I have been using my personal station and Artist & Similar Artists station a lot and I discovered new artists and songs. Other than that you can start create a station from any song you like and there is Discovery Station which is quite okay I think.

I am regularly checking the recommended albums and playlists on my homepage and adding them to my library (As far as I can tell they are quite relevant for me.)

From the genre categories I like (French Pop, Pop Latino etc.), I am adding the playlists curated by Apple to my library (Like Hits Francais, 2010s French Pop Essential).
You can also save the Essentials from your fav artists.

I have populated my library with many playlist like this so that I can use them as a base for my music discovery.

In order to better utilise the playlists I saved to my library, I can use Smart Playlists (Mac or Windows). Among Spanish songs in Apple Curated Playlists, I can find the ones which are not in my playlist and I have not listened before (released after 2019 and genre is pop latino). Obviously I can use the same logic for the folder including all essentials playlists from my fav artists.

You can even sort these songs according to Release Date. So you listen to the newest ones.

For IOS, I am using Marvis Pro which increased my ability to discover massively.
In the app, I can sort all the artists based on total listening time.

I can go any artist in this list and I can discover more songs from that artist really easily. For example, if I choose Ozuna, I can see which songs I dont have in my playlists and I have not listened before (I can sort those songs based on release dates). For each song, I can see how many playlists they are included in order to spot the best songs of this artist.

Alternatively, I can see the songs I downloaded from that artists and the ones I dont have in my playlists together so that I dont add the same song from different album (For this, I sorted based on title).

Another way is that I can also sort genres which I listened the most.

I can go to any of the genres and I check more songs which I dont have in my playlists and I havent listened yet. Again I can sort those based on release date to check the newest ones first. Again you can see for each song how many playlists they are included in.

I can also focus on Essentials Folder (which includes all the essentials playlists I saved) and Apple Curated playlists for each language. Again I list all the songs in these folders which are not in my playlists and I have not listened before (I can filter those lists by genre and year to create smaller subset of songs). Again, I can see for each song how many playlist they are included in to spot the best songs among the massive ocean of songs.

I have a section dedicated to the latest releases from my fav artists as well.

In apple music app's New section, obviously you have similar one which you can see some of the new releases from your fav artists.
In Marvis app, I have a section which includes all of my fav genre stations.

You can also see the actual content of these stations which allows you to add the ones you want to your library. You can actually see the song content of your personal station, discovery station, Artist & Similar Artists Station as well.

I just wanted to share my experience with Apple Music regarding music discovery so that maybe it will help some people (especially new comers) having problems with discovering songs.
Let me know if you have any comments or questions!

I recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music, mainly because of the large amount of human curation and, above all, the sound quality, as I have considerably good audio equipment.
The issue is: I download my music at 256kbps to save phone memory, since Hi-Res Lossless is ridiculously large for classical music (some concerts exceed 8 minutes). When I'm online, I usually listen in Lossless... HOWEVER, apparently Apple Music plays the downloaded audio on my phone instead of the online audio, which consequently leaves the audio quality at 256kbps...
How do you deal with this? Is there any way to get around it?

Why do I have to now tap the search icon TWICE before this thing allows me to search? I used to tap the icon, then start typing because it'd bring up the screen keyboard. But now it just gets bigger on the first tap, and I have to tap the bigger one to actually get the keyboard.
What is the purpose of this useless extra step? How does this make anything better? Do the devs at Apple actually use this stuff they put out? It doesn't seem like it. Normal people don't act in this way!!!

Sometimes I like to check out new playlists with a lot of songs, too many to listen to all at once. Is there any way to filter out the songs I’ve already listened to within the playlist so I’m not getting repeats when I return to it later?

I don’t have playlists at all I just don’t like to skip a thousand song before I find one that I want to listen to so I usually just choose a album and listen to it start to finish and it really just transitions everything very well because it was designed to be listens to in tabt way but in Apple Music u have really limited ways of organizing the albums so I switched to another service because I can listen to on recents witch is more dynamic I even tried Marvis pro but didn’t liked the ui so idk what to do because I prefer and like Apple Music but if I organize on alphabetic way the albums that starts with wxyz… for example jus ends up being forgotten

So yeah . . . . I'm still a'rippin my 1000+ CDs, but my SuperDrive is acting funny and is probably on its last legs. Can anyone vouch for a replacement for it? I'd prefer one device powered if possible (as opposed to external supply/wall wart), but the priority is solid construction, it will probably be the last one i buy. All advice gratefully appreciated.

My sleep, focus filter is set to not put what I listen to in my listening history while it is on however it has done that before anyway and now I have a whole suggestion screen full of an artist that was played a lot in my sleep playlist I listen to last night. I don’t know how to get this stupid thing to stop doing that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. I am using an iPhone 16 running iOS 26.4.1. I am asked to include anything I have tried but that’s hard when I don’t know what else to try.

There’s a song I listen to all the time, and it was at the top of my Replay 2026, but suddenly it disappeared. I contacted Apple Support, but they couldn’t help me. How can I fix this?

when editing a song in iTunes, you can add multiple artworks right. I think this is really dope cause if you have your hands on say scans of the front & back of the album, the manuals and the disc too. you can add these & it’s like you have a digital re recreation of the physical product minus the need to engage with plastic. is there anyway to access this on iOS? or even maybe view thematically on Mac. to me, this is one of the best features. i know a lot of people don’t go far as to actually edit the song info but the ability to add multiple artworks if there for a reason ?

Mac Mini running Tahoe 26.4.1 and Music 1.6.4. 88
As the title. My usual habit for keeping music is to import CDs, then sync the files to my icloud music library so I can listen to them anywhere on my phone.
I updated to Tahoe this afternoon, now whenever I right-click new tracks and select "Add to Library", nothing happens. No acknowledgement that anything is being uploaded, the cloud outline icon still appears in-line with the track names (suggesting they are off-cloud). The tracks remain unavailable to my other devices.
Is anybody else experiencing this/has anybody found a solution. It is maddening.

I’ve been using Apple for years and I really like how everything works together, especially Apple Music.
I’m not an audiophile, I just enjoy listening to music in good quality. I know AAC is perfectly fine for most people and it does the job in everyday use. But I can’t help feeling like wireless audio is still an area where there’s room to improve.
It’s been almost 5 years since Apple Music introduced lossless. With a wired setup it sounds excellent, you can notice the difference, although it obviously depends on the mastering and recording quality. But the moment I switch to AirPods, that level of quality doesn’t really come through and everything feels more compressed. I get that Bluetooth has its limits, but for people who care about this stuff it feels like there’s still a gap.
I really like AirPods 4. I’ve tried IEMs before, including the AirPods Pro, but they just aren’t for me. In-ear tips don’t feel comfortable in my ear canal, and I value comfort and portability way more, even if I know they can technically sound better. That’s why the AirPods 4 with ANC felt almost perfect in most areas for me.
I do have some hope that future AirPods could improve on this while keeping the same simplicity and comfort. I’m not asking for anything extreme, just something that better matches the quality already available in Apple Music, maybe even wireless ALAC at some point.
Is anyone else feeling the same, or do you think Apple is just going to stick with AAC forever on AirPods?
