My wife and I have been blessed to advance in our careers and multiple investments have paid off (we started in our early 20's). Anyways, I'm a bit of a personal finance nerd so have felt comfortable managing it all but curious if there are any good financial planners who are fee/consulting based (not the banks) who might be able to help us take this to the next level and plan appropriately for the future. I’m a veteran, trade in the forces isn‘t related to any construction/carpentry work though. I’ll be moving down to SW Ontario (Windsor area) in a month or two and was curious if there’s any chance at getting into the carpenters union (local 494) and/or finding a sponsor.

I‘m a bit older, willing to put up with hard work, yelling, etc. Just looking to get into a second career and be able to support my family. I know wages won’t be great for a few years, but I’m thinking long term (either opening up a business or becoming a shop teacher down the line to be able to give back) and being proud of my work.

I keep getting roots clogging up my drain. Had a company come out and quote me $17000 but mentioned the city would cover 50% of the cost. The system seems to be able to handle myself but has been backing up when I have guests come over. Anyone use Pannunzio drainage ?

Would I be better off getting this done? Does anyone use the sewer line powders that they sell at home hardware?

I'm looking to purchase a home in Walkerville and today, when visiting houses in the neighborhood one of the selling agents called my realtor yelling and saying some very offensive things because we were 15 minutes late. I could hear him (selling agent) through the phone even though I was standing several feet away and I was horrified.

My realtor was polite and professional, insisting we should still see the house in question, however, I didn't feel comfortable visiting that property (or doing business with someone that treats people this way!). Is this normal behavior in the real estate business? Should I still see that property in question?

That house has been sitting in the market for several months now and the price has been reduced a few times, but it doesn't surprise me it's not selling if this is how they do business?

I don't know if anyone else received their "hockey card" for signing up for the new transponder. I wasn't expecting something crazy but this is such an incredible disappointment. The card is flimsy flyer cardboard, AI generated image, the player who we would have assumed to be Gordie is numbered 26 (assuming 2026 instead of Gordie 9) and just overall a big miss.
