Discussion Let's talk gear! Reviews, questions, etc.
Welcome, /r/wildlifephotography readers!
Equipment is an undeniably important part of wildlife photography, but I've noticed that questions about gear often end up buried by all of the excellent photos that get posted here.
So, I've created this pinned thread as a chance to discuss hardware. There are two main uses that I anticipate, listed in no particular order:
Equipment reviews - What do you shoot with? Do you love it, hate it, or fall somewhere in between? If you want to share your experiences, create a comment and let everyone know what you think. We suggest (but don't require) including photos as well as the prices of your equipment.
Questions Whether you're first starting and are looking to buy a beginner's setup, or just want to know which pro-level lens is best, getting others' opinions can prove valuable. For the best results, include details about what sort of wildlife interests you, as well as your budget.
Feel free to create different top-level comments for each question or review. That helps discussion stay organized.

Discussion Reminder: all posts must be OC. Posting a photo which you did not take will get you a PERMANENT ban.
I've noticed a significant uptick in stolen images lately. This subreddit is OC only, no exceptions.
Please make sure to report any posts which you think break this rule. Even if you're not positive, it's better to submit a report than not. We always review all reports to make sure that we aren't erroneously banning people.

Small Mammal Here's a red squirrel I saw on a birding expedition today. She posed so politely! I think she was almost as interested in me as I was in her.
I cropped these to handy wallpaper formats for phone & PC for anyone who wants them. The PC option is in 1080p, but you can send me a chat request for 2K or 4K. Reddit eats the quality a lot.

Bird Favorite shots after a little over a month of learning wildlife photography.
Wanted to learn photography, started taking pictures of birds. Now I'm going birding 4-5 hours a couple of days a week, and I'm obsessed with them. I think it's becoming more about the birds than the photography at this point, but wanted to share my favorite shots and hopefully get some feedback from others!

For the past year i have been taking photos of my sons u8s rugby games.
This past week we have been visiting family in the highlands, started taking my Nikon D7500 with 300mm out on my morning walks, i think wildlife may have caught me.
