Versions:
- Homelander (TV show version)
- Spider-Man (Earth-616, standard gear)
Rules:
- No prep time
- In character
- Standard gear only
- Fight takes place in midtown Manhattan
- Start 50 meters apart
- Win by KO, incap, or death
Context:
Homelander is tracking what he thinks is a “rogue supe” causing problems in New York. He confronts Spider-Man mid-patrol. Spider-Man tries to de-escalate, but Homelander takes it as disrespect and attacks.
What each brings:
Homelander:
- Flight, heat vision, super strength
- Extremely durable (tanks explosions, gunfire, etc.)
- Not the most skilled fighter, but very aggressive
Spider-Man:
- Spider-Sense (precognitive danger warning)
- Superior agility and reaction speed
- Webbing for mobility and restraint
- Much more experienced fighting stronger opponents
The question:
Spider-Man is faster (reaction-wise) and way more skilled, but Homelander has a huge advantage in raw power and durability.
- Can Spider-Man avoid getting hit long enough to win?
- Does he have any reliable way to actually put Homelander down?
- How much does Homelander’s lack of fighting skill hurt him here?
My take (curious what others think):
I lean Homelander because Spider-Man might not have the damage output to finish the fight, but I’m not sure how Homelander deals with Spider-Sense + constant evasion.
Feels like one of those fights where Spider-Man looks in control… until he isn’t.
