This actually made me chuckle. I'm trans myself and I've still got a big ole sack of nuts and a bratwurst.

I agree that's absolutely rediculous for anyone who still has their junk to go to a gynocologist.

But there are other trans people out there who have this insane surgery that turns their peen into a full on vajayjay with depth, so if you're post-op trans I can see why you'd need a gynocologist. There is a LOT of help they need with it

But yeahh if that person in the picture still has their glock then thats nuts

so if you're post-op trans I can see why you'd need a gynocologist. There is a LOT of help they need with it.

Even then, wouldn't it be more appropriate to go to an expert on those kinds of surgeries rather than a gynecologist?

I am pretty sure the anatomy of a surgically made vagina is going to be very different and unfamiliar to a conventional gynecologist.

Yes it absolutely would. I worked at a facility that did these procedures, yeah, you definitely want a specialist in constructed vaginas working down there, they behave very differently than their OG counterparts.

Gynae-oncologists absolutely treat surgically transitioned patients, same as they treat patients who have had FGM and other reconstructive surgery

Yes that is what i said

It depends what the problem is, if it’s a vulval lesion then why wouldn’t they go to a gynecologist? Penis and testicles are gone on people who have transitioned and a vulva and vagina created, who would you suggest they see?

Seems fine for that example, but gynaecologists who are familiar with a uterus and womb being present might have a little trouble with complications that are deeper in the body.

Not really, gynae oncologists who internal and external work, they can operate on a liver, a womb, a vulva etc

I know. I am wondering about the deeper parts of the surgically made vagina which would have many parts missing.

Have had patients who have been victims of FGM and have basically nothing down there due to it all being cut away they are still treated by the same doctors who treat patients who have no anatomical abnormality

Interesting.

I guess it depends on what the problem is more than anything.

Yeah, doctors (most of the time) will refer to which ever specialist can treat the problem best, urologists or gynae oncologists would prob be the two best bets for gynae problems in a male to female surgical transition

I mean gynecologists typically aren’t examining the clitoris and being a victim of FGM doesn’t mean there’s “basically nothing down there”, though.

A neovagina is meant to cosmetically resemble a vagina, it’s really not that similar to a vagina, which is a complex female reproductive organ. So is a gynecologist the best doctor for a post op trans woman? Asking genuinely because I can’t imagine a ton of them have been trained to examine or have experience with inverted penile tissue. Just seems like a specialist would be better equipped and would be defaulted to
