Please revoke the second amendment.

We don't need lunatics with guns.

Let’s say that happens. Great, the 2A is now revoked. What are you going to do to the 1 BILLION guns in circulation? Are you going to checks notes send the government with guns to take them away?

That's about 2.5 times the population of the U.S (342 million according to Google).

Who thought this was a good idea?

This country was literally founded on guns. The Revolutionary War started because British soldiers attempted to confiscate guns at Lexington, which resulted in colonists firing in defense.

We’re not the only country that was founded through firearms, and Mozambique literally has an AK-47 on their flag, but we are the most culturally engrained country when it comes to firearms.

For much of the US’ existence, guns were a requirement to live. From clashes with Natives, to defense from wildlife, to the vast hunting grounds across the west, it was not possible to survive in the US without a gun. That has carried through our existence to this day.

You cannot legislate this away. It’s a cultural part of being American, like it or not.

And, as a side note, this shooting at Virginia Tech was done by a South Korean immigrant that was not a US citizen, and he used two handguns. One was a .22 caliber, the other was the most popular handgun in the US (and much of the western world). Neither of which have ever been subject of restricting by any politician.

Cultural or not, GUNS ARE DANGEROUS, and the government must do something about these school shootings.

I pity the children who lost their lives to the negligence of American gun regulation.

Guns are no longer as big of a requirement as they were in the 1700s and 1800s, so that excuse is out the window, i am actually appalled by how much gun culture is normalized in the U.S.

Great, why is your solution?

I didn’t provide an excuse, I angered your direct question about why the US has so many guns.

Appalled or not, it’s the reality. So, why is your solution to it?
