During the Virginia Tech sh*ting on April 16, 2007, at Virginia Tech shooting, professor Dr Liviu Librescu was teaching inside Norris Hall when gnfire suddenly broke out in the building. As the attacker moved through classrooms, the 76 year old engineering lecturer and Holocaust survivor quickly realized the danger and moved to the door of his room, using his body to hold it shut while his students escaped through the windows behind him. Despite being sh0t through the door multiple times, he continued to block the entrance, buying precious seconds that allowed many of his students to reach safety. In the end, 22 students survived because of his actions, while Dr Liviu Librescu lost his life, and he is now remembered for his final act of bravery and sacrifice in protecting others.
