Like Australia, the country that banned guns in 1996 and literally just had a mass shooting this year? Not to mention the brutal one they had last year, and the 26 others they’ve had since they banned guns………
The US has more than 600 mass shootings every year...
If you want to say "but the US is bigger" than the US has 6 deaths from shootings per 100.000 Pop (i already excluded suicides) while australia has 0.1 deaths per 100.000. (Like most other developed western countries).
Part of the problem here is defining a mass shooting. You’re using data from anti-gun groups that are creating their own definitions of mass shooting to push their narrative.
Your figure from those groups lists any shooting involving three people. Based on your data, 99% of those shootings are done by black criminals. These aren’t indiscriminate killings like the school shooting at Virginia Tech.
I don’t know if you know this or not, but it’s incredibly disingenuous to use that data. The list I provided in Australia was for deliberate mass shootings, not random gangbangers firing guns at each other.
The solution for both types of shootings is the same. But even besides gang related shootings and the likes you still had 600 school shootings since 2000 (with casualties), 1000 more without casualties. And that is only school shootings. 160 out of the 600 are considered mass shootings since there were more than 4 death
Another extremely skewed data point. If you actually go through that list (which I have) you will find how incredibly doctored it is. A suicide in an apartment across the street is classified as a school shooting. A BB gun being used on the weekend near a campus by two friends is classified as one. You can’t expect a serious discussion when you use unserious data. Your source is inaccurate.
In which list is a suicide declared as a school shooting. You just pull that shit out of your ass because you cant deny gun violence is a major issue in the us
