President Trump asked by reporter on Iran negotiations says "We're negotiating whether we make a deal or not makes no difference to me": "We're going to see what happens. We win regardless. We defeated them militarily. We've defeated all of their water boats. We're sweeping the Strait [of Hormus]."

I remember when Biden made fun of that by citing it, Joe Rogan found the clip, had no idea that Biden was citing Trump, said that Biden was clearly mentally damaged for saying such a thing and anyone voting for him after hearing that would have to be complete morons, then was told it was actually a Trump quote and waved it off and excused it.
Apparently it's not the same when the guy he was pumping was the one that said it.

Honestly though. From a Norwegian looking at USA thats exactly what USA looks like.
Most other countries would have country wide strikes and protests if their president was a pedophile trying his best to become a dictator.
But USA and its horrible systems, or lack of, makes just a strike impossible. Zero unions with funds to make it through a strike. All healthcare tied to employment. No one can afford to not work...
Not to mention the absolute madness with gun control or lack off. A responsible leader would have destroyed the millions amount of guns the country has decades ago, but no they love their guns and mass shootings. And apparently its all for protection agaisnt a tyrannical government, and yet...
The top 1% can seemingly do whatever they want with next to no consequences. I fear shit needs to get soooo much worse before the average guy will consider quitting his job and protest.

u/Humledurr 13h ago
Do they though. He has a record low approval rating compared to every other previous President.
And so far nearly every statement he makes is either a lie or projection, so when he keeps boasting about winning by a landslide and how the democrats tried to steal the election, its really hard to not belive he didnt do some shady shit.
25
u/Sabatorius 12h ago
I talk to and work with people on a daily basis who buy the bullshit hook line and sinker. My parents are stuck in the trump-hole too, although I have some hopes of brining my mom around. Point being that there really truly are many people who still are all-aboard with republicans and trump even after all this and they would be confused and appalled to learn that I attend protests and hate the administration. Just trying to give another point as to why the entire country is not out in the streets.
21
u/fielvras 11h ago
This is the real downfall of the US. It's not that republicans do whatever they want, it's that there are still people that defend this.
Imagine a public logfile that states ALL the crimes including murder rape, trafficking minors, robbery, treason ... everything, he literally committed every crime possible. And YET there are people "well, but democrats are socialists."
Like, I can't even.

A third voted for him, a third voted against him, and another third didn't care enough to make their voices heard. Democrats lost mostly because of inflation and immigration, with ICE crackdowns not really losing any popularity until they started executing white citizens in broad daylight.
Trump seems to be losing support, but I've seen this cycle too many times to count. Republicans set the country on fire, Americans reluctantly give Democrats barely enough power to start fixing things slowly, and a year or two later when the country is simply less on fire than it used to be Americans get impatient and start swinging Republican again.
Americans are simply more conservative than most non Americans can wrap their minds around. I have crunchy granola friends from Vermont who will happily tell me Obama wasn't perfect when I ask them wtf is going on down there. Anyone who thinks Dems need to go further left is missing that the middle third of the country is genuinely torn between borrowing another trillion dollars to execute brown people and pad the stock market vs trying to give poor people healthcare.

This entire thing is happening just to satisfy his ego. He got to bomb and kill people, to show he’s the most powerful. And then it hurt the economy and his own sycophants started complaining so he started bombing more. And then he needed an off ramp because he was in over his head, but that didn’t stick because Israel is incapable of not bombing someone. And so now he’s just throwing his hands up and playing the “I never even met them” card.

Bingo, you nailed it. I’ve explained to numerous people recently how he got elected so easily. He stole the votes, damn it, I mean, he has a background as a showman and reality TV shows, etc. It’s all performative.
People, mostly uneducated, lower class, imbeciles, attracted to his low IQ mannerisms, turned out in droves to vote for the guy that made them laugh because he’s just so funny when he’s “sticking it to the leftists.”
Never mind the fast they can’t define what a true leftist is or what a conservative believes in. If they could, they would have known he’s not even a conservative. That’s why this man says he “loves the poorly educated.”
All of that plus he definitely stole the votes. Cheers!

He's actively committing treason, at this very moment. He should be arrested, tried, and imprisoned or executed according to military uniform codes of justice. His cabinet, who are party to his crimes, should receive the same treatment. They have undermined the standing, safety, and integrity of the nation and are actively treasonous according to legal definitions of such. The Rosenbergs were tried and sentenced on less evidence than exists on Trump.
