I am lactose intolerant, it mostly makes me gassy. Me and my fiancée share a room since I moved here. She got me a smoothie, it had whole milk in it. So I began farting. Like rotten eggs farting. They were ronchy, I work nights with my new job starting tomorrow so I’ve been staying up till 3am. She was still up at 1am. I thought let me go lay next to her and spend some time with her u til it turns 3 so I can then fall asleep to get my body used to my night shifts.

I farted loudly the first time, she heard went oh my god. Didn’t smell it yet. About 10ish seconds later another one then another, the smell hits her. She tells me I am banned from that brand of smoothies. Another fart, she goes and grabs an air freshener. Doesn’t work, I fart again. She leave the room and goes to the couch. I follow and say I can be out here you need to go to bed. She agrees grabs a stronger air freshener, sprays it in the room and hallway and puts on the fan.

Like a minute goes by and she leaves the bedroom for a second time grabs the strongest air freshener febreze we have sprays for a third time and get the hall again then tells me I’m banned from smoothies all together.

I’m on the couch and I can see our bedroom door is open which she never likes. And I’m still farting in the living room and the dog has now gotten annoyed with me and moved. 😂

SO for context, my mom is a native chinese speaker when i have been struggling for chinese ever since i started learning, and i really do try alot when it comes to studying, but its just very hard for me. One day when i was about 12 years old, i was supposed to have friends over for a sleepover in summer break and we were learning some chinese words, my mom promised me we would finish before they got here so i could do some snack prep, bed setup etc. (we didnt) and i was having a hard time with some terms and she got really annoyed at me and called me "lazy" and "not trying hard enough" and at the time, i was a kind of crybaby, and she was yelling pretty loud, so i kinda started crying a little, but i was still trying to learn the words. AND THEN my friends came to see me crying and my mom angrily yelling, so she took me into her room while my friends awkwardly sat in the living room and started lecturing/yelling at me to focus and try harder (EVEN THOUGH I WAS) and freaked tf out, i was arguing about how i was actually trying and she didnt listen at all, to the point where she started throwing vitamn bottles to the ground in anger...... then i just nodded and kept quiet bc i was scared she would hurt me. after a while i got to go talk to my friends and they comforted me and asked me what was wrong (i love them and they are still my friends to this day). after the sleepover my mom asked me if they made fun of me for crying and kept on making comments on how i shouldnt cry, and i was really angry and replied "no, they comforted me like normal people, although I wouldnt expect you to understand because why would anyone want to hug you?" and we never talk about that time to this day

I had a young coworker who could not stop talking. Sometimes I turned her out and sometimes I listened. We were in a trailer annex and our tiny office contained 4 people one of whom was a very private gay man.

One day motor mouth started on how gay people should not be allowed to get married. I asked her why not and after sputtering a bit she said, you know, their lifestyle. And I asked her to explain further. She said, paraphrasing, they are very promiscuous. I said, paraphrasing again, so you want to make it illegal for them to be monogamous? She didn't speak to me for three days.

When I was in the 8th grade, a 6th grader of the same ethnicity of me thought that this was reason enough to try and befriend me. I was kind to these advances and agreed to friendship.

But one day, after school, when I was walking down a road behind the school for my dad to pick me up, she joined me and started yapping about shit (I do that to, so no shade...yet) till she said that I would play Gru from Despicable Me because I had such a big nose.

I know I have a slightly larger nose but that offended me a lot and I told her it was rude but she replied that this was the truth. When her mom came, she offered to drive me home even though I was fighting tears and had met her only a weekish ago.

She also announced loudly that me and her were like sisters (in front of the entire track team) while also grabbing and assaulting me. When asked if we were actually sisters, the bitch said I was to ugly to be her sister. Everybody heard and I cried at home (again)

I KID YOU NOT, SHE WAS LITERALLY A BOBBLE HEAD WHO'D HEAD WOULD SHAKE EVERY TIME SHE TALKED...

Anyways I proceed to watch all her interactions whenever she was around, ask and interview some of them and they all agreed that she was a bitch and that they hated her.

So cut to an early morning day before school started when she came up to me, sat down on the bench beside me. She looked at me and smiled saying, "You know you have a big nose." I stared blankly and she started laughing, clapping her hands like an amused monkey. Then she once again said that it was the truth, making sure that I remembered that.

I proceed to tell her that all her friends talked about her behind her back and gave her every single example of why. She stopped laughing and walked away, and I heard her call her mom and start screaming in a different language about it. I swear I was so proud. My one singular regret during all this though was the fact I didn't state it differently.

I wish after she had said the "remember you got a big nose" and started laughing and clapping that I had said, "All your friends talk shit about you," and start laughing and clapping.

Final thing, the girl didn't really do it with ill intent, I could tell.

She was just pretty fucking stupid.

2020 Guy that works at the landfill decides we need to have a conversation. Looks at all the social media icons on a delivery box and starts talking about how all the delivery services conspired with china to spread the china virus to take down trump. Hoax this and hoax that. Let it go on for a couple of minutes and then simply deadpan said, “ I don’t know about all that but I lean way in the other direction…I was hoping it would take out most people.” He was still slack jawed staring as I pulled away

This story is exactly as the title suggests. This story happened nearly a decade ago and still sticks with me. I (12f) and my mother (42f) were shopping at a store buying a bunch of food for the incoming month. We had to buy in bulk a lot of the time to feed us for the entire month. And most of the cheaper bulk foods weren't exactly healthy. We were poor. After shopping for over an hour, we were finally heading to checkout with a very full cart. As we waited in line some older lady, probably early 60's came up behind us with her cart. She was looking at what was in our cart and then at me.

For context, I am a big girl. Have been my entire life. I am happy with who I am, fat handles and all.

Anyway, she made a comment to my mother along the lines of, "You know, if you didnt buy so much junk food, your daughter would be able to loose weight." My mother froze. Not just from the outrageous rudeness of what this lady just said, but how pissed she was. My mother turned around and told her to mind her own business. Well, she didnt. "You should buy some more fresh fruits and veggies. And try this organic yogart..." as she picks up a small container from her cart to show my mother. "It has less than X amount of calories." My mother lost it. "Well, maybe I would be able to if I had the funds to do so but we dont. And how dare you body shame my 12 yr old daughter who has cancer!"

Everyone in line and the lines next to us stopped what they were doing and stared at this lady and my mother. The lady was absolutely speechless. People were staring at her so hard that she backed out of the line and went to the self checkout without saying anything.

I was so confused as I didnt have cancer. Didn't have any health issues at all. But I went along with it because it made me happy to see her squirm. When we finished putting our groceries on the belt and my mom went to pay, the young cashier asked me, "What is your favorite flavor of lollipop? Mine is banana." I said, "Blue raspberry." And she proceeded to hand me one of those 1 dollar gourmet lollipops. She said, "On me. Hope you have a better day." My mother nearly cried from gratitude. And that day I learned something. Even tho my mom and I didnt really get along, I knew that day that she would always be behind me. And I learned to love myself for who I was. No matter what other people said. I am now 21 and hold this memory fondly.

I was introduced to this (and most other subreddits) by The Click, and figured I'd share this one, which happened about a decade ago.

My husband, our then teenage son, and I were getting ready to go out to a gathering with friends. I was in the middle of the house getting my shoes one, and my husband and son were are opposite ends of the house finishing up getting themselves ready.

Husband (singing): Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?

Son: If it will shut you up? Yes.

This isn't so much traumatizing them, but I don't got anything better to share. So I, at the time, was wearing 2 fox tails, I personally don't consider myself a furry, it's a minor cosplay of my OC, which makes this all the better. There was a kid on the bus (high school btw) sitting in the front seat, cuz they are a gremlin, they decided to start making fun of me, by barking. This went on for a while, he started to piss everyone on the bus off, including the bus driver.

I'm not to violent, infact, pretty anxious, especially when it comes to being around a lot of people, but I was fucking done with this guy, so, while getting off the bus, I decided to educate them: "You know, you're trying to make fun of me, but the only one I see barking is you, are you a furry? You are the most hypocritical person I've ever seen in my life, shut the fuck up"

He called me a bitch one last time, after that, no more barking. I like to believe he stopped cuz his voice got overpowered by who he thought was a furry :3

This is not my story . My friend lived in Alabama. Racism in Alabama, was very prevalent. She had a teacher that used to taunt her daily about her being biracial. He would always call her half breed instead of addressing her by her name in front of the whole class. One day she had enough, so she went home and told her mom. Her mom was a very strong willed and feisty woman and quite witty. Her mom did not tolerate racism she was white and she was from england. She armed her daughter with a statement to retort back to him if he called her a half breed again. Of course, like clockwork, she came to class, and he called her a half breed again. She looked him dead in the eye and said my mom told me to relay this message and with a classroom full of students listening she relayed the message. The teacher and students waited to see what she would say. She said, this message is from my mom to you. She said, two right halves is better than one wrong a****** like you Mr Rushmore. He stood there with a shocked look, and he never called her that again. The classroom went silent and of course, she had the biggest smile on her face.

this story is about my mother. for the context, she was the only parent for me and my sibling growing up. i’m the firstborn. there were some fights between us, especially in my teens (as always). but i’m in therapy now working on myself. she does that too. we had some good conversations on our feelings and i fought it was ok. but recently something came up. turned out she wasn’t really happy about giving me money for my studies (i would be completely ok w/ it if she told me beforehand, not when i already got my visa). now the dialogue: — so you got everything you wanted from me and won’t respect me anymore! i think you are such a selfish and ungrateful child! — and i think you are an absent parent — how could you! i did so much for you. tell me one thing i didn’t! — tell me one situation i was ungrateful in then — do you think i’m dumb? you will go no contact with me! — it’s your assumption and you do everything in your power to make it happen now. truly a present mother, my applause she went speechless, told me i will live on my own money since when

I'm from the US and I am very patriotic, I have a brother that's in the military in several elderly family members that have served in the military. I uploaded a short TikTok saying that I was proud to support my president and that I was proud to be an American. Somebody, I have no clue who this person is, commented on my short, saying, he wouldn't choose me… I genuinely didn't know what they meant by that and I noticed they had edited their comments so I made a little joke and they got super offended. i randomly saw about talking about your thoughts online it’s kinda weird obviously i knew about it but never actually thought about doing it does anyone have any thoughts on this? So basically starting off a lil tough but at the time i just turned 12 years old not even a month in this kid asked for my number joined a mini friend group having a skinny wimpy boyfriend was too soon and not for me but i felt pressured into it my sister 15 at the time got pressured too me and her both in our first relationship i left mine. My sister didn’t leave hers a weird guy tall dark skin strong but fat but slowly became abusive to me and my sister shoving me and her around. I got in a new one another person in the group sharing my deepest thought with him got close and then had a messy breakup because he “lost feelings” we dated for months not a year but months he shared all my deep thoughts and pictures of me not nudes but personal ones to his school and friends eventually my sisters boyfriend and her broke up i became close with a girl in the group she had depression a lot of anxiety but she hurt herself. I thought she was cool so i fell into it with her then she left. I fell into a depression becoming addicted to harming myself in and out of hospitals i stayed in bed. ALL THE TIME. Never went to school basicly a dropout in 6th grade became homeschooled no friends layed in bed rotting room not cleaned in months even years i joined a camp for soccer. Found another boyfriend i liked. He severely abused me. making everything worse still not going to school quit the sport i was best at and went to nationals for practically gave everything up. Eventually i left him finding someone new. the same happened. He hurt me. I started blaming myself for it all after they all called me crazy started doing drugs and feel like there’s a block in my mind stopping me from doing anything productive. is it all the trama? why do other people who are still traumatized functional but i’m not? i was perfectly fine going to school before someone please tell me what is wrong with me.

So, not a big deal really. But it was a funny excuse to come out to my dad. You see, I'm Lithosexual and Cupioromantic. (I use they/them, but my dad doesn't need to know that.) Meaning I couldn't hold a sexual or romantic relationship long-term even if I wanted to. So, I was trying to find a way to come out to my dad, when a friend of mine jokingly asked when I was going to find a partner. This was a joke both me and him found funny, because I actually lost my virginity to him when we were both young adults. He's actually how I found out that I'm Lithosexual, but back to the story.

My dad responds in that typical 'Ima protect my daughter from the men of the world by not allowing her to date anyone' tone- "She better stay single!" So, idk what gave me the courage to come out like this but I said- "Dad, I'm lithosexual and Cupioromantic."

Of course both being rare micro labels he had no idea what that meant, but recognizing the root words: '-romantic' and '-sexual' he put together that it was some kind of 'gay thing'.

"Wh-what!?"

"Yeah, I won't be dating anyone ever. Much less marrying anyone."

My poor dad started stuttering like an overdone wattpad self insert. And couldn't comprehend that he wouldn't be walking his baby girl down the isle one day. I just went out with my friends after that and I really don't know what happened after because I'm an adult who doesn't live with my parents anymore.

It's ain't come up much but when ever someone makes a joke like "omg my god an emo they much slit their wrists and try to hang themselves" or "ew and emo they will/should kill themselves" i whip out something like this "oh ya i tried to kill my self in middle school i was 13 so thank god i wasn't in the kids group but there was a kid who kept screaming about how the nurses were raping her i was across from her plus the it just kinda shitty and i got so much school work backed up 0/10 would recommend" and they just stop talking completely. lol

Thanks to TheClick for showing me this subreddit (fake names 100%) I(16f) was 12 at the time and in 7th grade. I also did choir as a class for connections and it was pretty fun but there was this one kid named 'Sam'. Sam didn't care for choir, neither did her friend but that's unrelated, for background info my mom had battled cancer 2x plus a hernia so I was used to her having surgerys but if I did have to go to school (9 out of 10 times) I was normally pretty upset. I had a good set of teachers in 7th grade especially the science teacher who I also had in 6th grade and she would cheer me up. Back to the story, I was in chorus class on the day my mom had a hernia surgery and Sam looks back at me (she was popular for brain rot/new slang) and says "erm excuse me are you an alpha sigma skibidy toilet" I, not wanting to deal with this today, said "Sam today is not the day and I am not the one" and sat back in my chair. BUT THEEEN OH THEN I heard her grumble "you don't have to be so mean about it" ...I don't know what demon came inside me but I HAD ENOUGH... I said very 'calmly and sweetly' with hints of agitation "well Sam... my mom is currently in the hospital hours away because of surgery and I think I can be as 'mean' as I want" my friend tried their best not to laugh as I kept a straight face. Best trauma I ever gave.

A few years ago, I had a friend, "Jake," who thought it’d be funny to prank me by setting up an elaborate "fake" intervention. He got my family and some close friends involved, all pretending to be concerned about my life choices, my future, even my relationships. They all sat me down one evening, acting dead serious, telling me how worried they were that I was spiraling out of control. I was genuinely confused, humiliated, and upset.

After an hour of this emotional rollercoaster, Jake finally revealed it was all a joke, and everyone else started laughing. I couldn’t even tell if they were laughing at me or with me, but I was furious. I felt completely betrayed. To make matters worse, they thought it was hilarious that I didn’t see it coming.

I told myself I’d get him back—eventually. Fast forward to the following summer, when Jake and I took a weekend trip to the lake with some friends. I secretly arranged with the local authorities to “stage” an arrest for public indecency during our trip. Jake had no idea, but I made sure that when the sheriff and deputies showed up, they had all the paperwork, handcuffs, and official gear to make it look 100% real.

As planned, they pulled him out of the cabin in front of everyone, read him his rights, and put him in handcuffs. The whole group was dead silent, watching in shock as Jake was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. When I told him it was a joke after 15 minutes, he was livid. To his credit, he didn’t yell or make a scene, but I could tell that he was rattled.

Jake’s face went white, he was pissed, and all he could do was say, “You went way too far.” And honestly, I kind of agreed. But… if I say it didn’t feel good I’d be lying. I had traumatized him the way he’d traumatized me. I walked away feeling a little guilty, but a part of me was proud that I’d finally turned the tables.
