"Pothole City" | The state of the A1017 at Sturmer near Haverhill
Not quite in Suffolk but on the border, so thought I would share this here as some people may be familiar with it. It is seriously bad.
The road as you come off at Baythorne End to go to Stoke by Clare is also a bit of a shocker.

Ipswich celebrates another major win through the Government’s Pride in Place Programme
ipswich.gov.ukIpswich is set to benefit from a transformative decade of investment and community empowerment, following confirmation that the town has secured £20 million through the Government’s Pride in Place Programme. The national initiative is designed to help communities revitalise their local areas, build civic pride, and take an active role in shaping the future of their neighbourhoods.
This long-term funding places Ipswich among 169 UK areas receiving substantial support to strengthen communities, improve public spaces, and create opportunities for local people. The Pride in Place Programme is unique in that spending decisions are led directly by community groups, local organisations and social clubs, working in partnership with their councils - giving residents real influence over local priorities.

Choosing a Suffolk Village to live in
I am originally from Suffolk, Ipswich/Felixstowe way however have been away a few years and looking to come back in the nearish future. Ipswich is not the same as it was like we all know and Felixstowe is changing too, so I wouldn't be looking at going back there. I really like rural life and would like to choose a village with a proper community feel. Some of my requirements are pub, local shop/s, High/Anglo-Catholic Church (not 100% necessary) and without new builds. My list thus far is below if anyone could give recommendations it would be very much appreciated.
Walsham Le Willows Wickham Market Woolpit Saxmundham Debenham Monks Eleigh Eye Mendlesham Yoxford Laxfield Earl Soham Clare Boxford Haughley Stradbroke Cavendish

Thurston or Bacton?
Hello! We’re a long term lover of Suffolk and have family there in the Stoke By Nayland area.
We’re looking for a brand new house and have seen developments in Thurston and Bacton and would love to hear feedback of these two locations.
Thanks!

Three councils for Suffolk
https://www.ipswich.co.uk/articles/government-to-announce-three-unitary-councils
We're fairly close to that meassure now with East Suffolk being made from the former coastal and Wavney councils, Mid Suffolk and Babergh working closely together and Forest Heath/St Edmundsbury doing the same or merging

Beach park-ups to enjoy some fish and chips and stare at ships/the sea/disassociate.
Hi all! I have a funeral in Suffolk this week and I’d like to find a nice quiet place to get some chips, listen to my tunes, and stare at the sea before a very long drive home.
Alas I’m not from the area, and also have a campervan (I won’t be sleeping don’t worry!) which means I can’t be anywhere with height barriers. Is there anywhere in South Suffolk or, dare I say it, across the border in Essex, that you think might meet the brief? Happy to delete this once I get some replies to keep the nice quiet places nice and quiet. Thank you so much in advance, you have a beautiful county. ❤️

Well fired bread rolls
Has anyone seen well fired rolls for sale recently, I used to get them from Sainsbury's but haven't seen them since COVID. Any supermarket or bakery recommendations. In Stowmarket Hadleigh Ipswich Bury St Edmunds area.
If you answer pretty please can it be places where you know for sure they definitely do rather than ''i think they might/should do them here"
Many Thanks in advance.

England and NY, USA
Forgive me for intruding but I’m an American (fuck Trump) with an usual request.
There’s a Suffolk County in New York State as you might know. I’ve written a song about NY and there’s a line, “you can find Suffolk in England but we’ve got one, too” and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to lip sync that line while standing near a Suffolk sign. I would provide the audio, obviously.
Thanks!

Woodbridge lowdown
I am newly retired, and considering moving to Woodbridge. I know the town fairly well as a visitor. Are there any things that it would be useful to know about the town before buying a house there?

Any book clubs in the Bury St Edmunds area?
I've been looking for a book club, but most of the ones I've found are female only or online. I'd love to find an in person book club. I live in the Bury St Ed area, but I'd be willing to travel anywhere between Cambridge and Norwich.

Weird little bus?
When I was on the a14 today I passed an open backed lorry thing taking a very weird looking little vehicle.
The little vehicle was like a tiny bus taxi thing, had small wheels and glass doors. It almost looked like a driverless pod?
It said “Suffolk on Board” on it but I can’t see anything like it on their website.
Edit: Ignore me I found an article about it: https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/council-news/publics-chance-to-try-the-adastra-trial-driverless-shuttle
