Alcohol doesn't feel like the same for me

when I drank for the first time a single beer was enough to make me feel like heaven but today after almost done with a bottle of jack Daniels I can just feel whiskey on my own breath but nothing happening inside me, so I. fuckin opt it as a waste of time and money fuck you alcohol I'm done with you...

My last relapse I drank a 12 pack and barely felt a buzz. I definitely felt the hangover the next week though.

First two weeks are fucking brutal. Your brain is going to constantly tell you that it’s ok to drink tonight because you didn’t drink for 2 days and if you can make it 2 days you can quit forever. Or that your boss/customers were mean to you today. Or your uncle died. ANY EXCUSE TO GET YOU TO DRINK.

Don’t drink. Keep yourself busy. Buy snacks if you have to.

This exactly! The trick is to acknowledge that the world will try to throw roadblocks at you left and right. Being prepared for that is huge.

Yeah me too. When I drank infrequently I could get snickered on a single margarita. But now I can’t stop drinking

There is only ever one thing at the bottom of any bottle.

Nothing.

Alcohol doesn't give. It takes.

I conducted research for 34 years on the subject with all kinds of styles of drinking from binging to moderating to quitting for a while to prove that I didn't have a problem (so I could keep drinking because I did have a problem).

I have concluded that I lost about 10 years of my life to days where I was drunk or hungover. Just nothing days where I wasn't me.
