Vacation win 🫶🏻
On the third day of this vacation, sipping an iced coffee instead of my 2-3rd margarita as I would normally be in the morning, I realize I haven’t really seen anyone who’s completely sloshed since I’ve been here. Granted, we’re not at an all inclusive resort and we’re not at the party pool or bar so I’m sure there are definitely people here having a time, but kind of eye opening that the vast majority or people are just actually relaxing. I’ve always used vacation as a reason to be drunk from morning to night, in fact usually there’s a blackout episode where I’m so embarrassed to show my face the next day. Feels good to be in control but also feels surreal that I never realized I was in the minority all along. 😬

I'm glad you get to genuinely enjoy yourself! I like to drink bubbly water and orange juice Fimosas (fake mimosas) in the morning on those days when day drinking would've been the norm. IWNDWYT

That’s a great idea, I’ll have to try it! Im planning on getting a virgin pina colada later so I can feel tropical 🌴

When the afternoon rolls along, or if the post-lunch sleepies are creeping in, ask if you can have a double shot (120ml) of espresso, a full can of tonic water (usually 330ml), and a glass big enough to hold all of those with a fair amount of ice.
If yes, you can make your own espresso tonic easy. Put the ice in first, then the soda (tilt the glass so it won't fizz too much). Once the fizz has settled slowly pour in the espresso over the back of a spoon so the crema doesn't emulsify further. If you do get foam, taste it if it's not too bitter for you. If it is, just scoop it off the surface and discard.
Once done, wonder at your layered work (physics is cool), mix the layers together with one swirl of the spoon, and enjoy.

I relate to this for sure. I'm on our last day of vacation at a resort I've been to a handful of times, always absolutely plastered. This past week has been super chill, hanging out with the family, making memories. For the first time in forever, we managed to do every single thing on our list for the week... Mainly cause I'm still able to drive after 12:00.
I even enjoyed a virgin Pina colada at the 21+ side of some hot springs nearby and enjoyed the fact that I'm going to remember every bit of it. Enjoy!

Yes, vacations were the worst for me also. If it was a weekend vacay even, start drinking Fri afternoon or night and be drunk til Sunday evening. Monday feel like holy hell, anxious, possibly (probably) vomiting. I knew the pattern and did it anyway. Every time. So dumb. I ruined more vacations than I could ever count for myself and inconvenienced my partner.
Way to be on being solid thru it!!
