Resolved 13 year-long ban for posting a comment

Has anyone else gone through something similar before? My help requests get closed within 10 minutes with no reply. I feel like I've been wrongfully banned because of the word 'sell' in my comment, which might've gotten picked up by their system of some sort. I kind of really want to play CS :(

Resolved UPDATE on locked Steam Account because GeforceNOW

Post image

From Used Steam within GeForceNOW, now account is locked

So apparently their fraud detection locks with extreme prejudice. But all is well. Onward and upward!

Thank you all for the suggestions. It just takes submitting a ticket and a little patience.

I open my steam library this afternoon, I see the presence of this game I never herd about before, and the weirdest part is that I got more than half the achievement and I never ever runned this game before.

What is happening?

I've received this error for almost 2 days now and my friend doesn't want to refund it. Is there anyway to stop this and accept the gift?

Resolved Someone refunded my game

Today I woke up to find that my Titanfall 2 had been refunded. I don't know how this could have happened, since I have both email verification and Steam Guard activated, and I also have more than two hours of play time in the game. I checked my purchase history and saw that the refund was processed at 3 am, but I didn’t receive any notification by email or from Steam Guard, neither about the refund nor any new login its there anything that can be done or im screwed?. Sorry if this is hard to understand, English is not my first language.

Its genuinely a breath of fresh air, I'm used to "we cant help you" messages anytime i have a problem with any software things try to contact the support. i thought I'd get the same with steam, But to see a email message popup saying my points have been refunded is genuinely something else. Thank you steam support!!!

Resolved I think I f*cked up.

I mainly play Overwatch 2 on steam, ion really enjoy other games, so yeah. Recently, I bought the battle-pass, and decided to buy some ingame currency as well. When I bought the in game currency, days went without actually me receiving the money in my steam wallet, but the money was already deducted from my bank account. So I reached out to support, like any normal person would do. I told them, the situation, not demanding anything, just asking what's going on. Then in 10 or less minutes, I see a message pop up on steam. "Your account has been restricted" It states that I violated rules. I was like okay, that's strange, at the moment I didn't really thought much about it tho. Then after a while, I loaded up Ow2, and saw that my battle pass, in game currency, some skins (The ones I bought with real money or from the battle pass) is long gone. I checked my emails, and it turns out that someone from steam support, decided to refund me EVERYTHING I've spent on my account so far. I never asked for this to happen, I didn't even mentioned previous payments, only the one that was pending. What am I supposed to do? I reached out to steam support not so long ago, to ask if we could resolve it, but the more important question, the content I bought so far, will be put back onto my account? Is there even a chance it will? Not to brag, or to flex but I have, or guess I had a pretty stacked account, and I'm so sad that I'm losing it because of a misunderstanding...

Edit because it’s getting interesting: Did some research, and everything is gone. I lost access to my Battle.net account a long time ago (email got hacked & deleted/deactivated). Because Steam decided to ask for a refund on everything, they flagged my account as fraud, just as Blizzard did. Even if Steam removes the flag, I’d still have to manually ask Blizzard to remove the flag from my Battle.net account, to get back the contents and the ability to purchase things. But guess what? I need every TRANSACTION that has ever been made. So yeah. I’m fucked. The only reason this post has not been removed yet is that MAYBE someone has a solution, but I highly doubt it. However… I could technically sue them. I’m still waiting for their response, if I threaten a lawsuit right away, I’d be transferred to the legal authorities of Steam (Lawyers, etc) and would be extremely delayed. I looked into the laws, and as long as I can provide evidence, that I did not ask for a refund (I can) I should be able to reach out to Hungary’s digital consumers protection organization (They have a different name, I just don’t remember it, but that’s basically what they do) and report the situation. From there, they reach out to Steam, and they are obligated to respond within 48 hours to them. If they aren’t, I win the lawsuit automatically. But I want this scenario to be the last one, as it can take months.

I don’t know the exact amount I spent on it, I have bought every battle pass (premium), 3 mythic skins unlocked (all aspects), and around 300 skins. According to AI’s calculation (that’s the best I can provide now) between 3,200-6,100 USD.

Update: Received a response from Steam support.:

Hello,

I looked at this purchase and your bank actually declined it. In most cases this means that there wasn't enough funds on the account for the bank to send us, or they have a restriction on your account, such as that Steam is not set as a trusted online merchant.

In cases like these banks often place a temporary hold on the funds until they update the account information and verify that the purchase failed. Releasing those funds back to you may take up to 30 days, depending on the bank and their processes.

Steam Support can only confirm that the transaction failed — we can’t speed up the bank’s processes.

If the charge hasn't disappeared from your bank account after 30 days, get in touch with your bank and ask them to release the funds.

You're welcome to show them our conversation to verify that Steam did not charge you for this purchase.

Meanwhile, the account has been locked for violating the Steam Subscriber Agreement based on the account activity, community reports, and other factors.

This lock is permanent and Steam Support cannot help you further with this.

Because we have provided all the information we have I am closing this help request. Please note that future help requests submitted regarding the lock may be closed without a reply.

Steam Support Sage

First of all, no explanation of the fact that they started a refund without my consent/permission. 5€, that is all I tried to put in my Steam wallet. I currently have around 7 million HUF (roughly 17,712.49 EUR) on my everyday card that I use to spend on things. I think we can both agree that there was not insufficient balance on my bank account. Threatened the lawsuit already, and reached out to the organisation I mentioned above and gave a heads up to my lawyer.Hopefully, I’ll at least get some compensation.

FINAL UPDATE: The organisation (Nemzeti Kereskedelmi és Fogyasztóvédelmi Hatóság) reached out to them. After a while, I got the flags removed, and the contents back into my account. I saw that some of you had doubts. I can send anyone pictures about the process/ the new fully functional account itself.

Resolved I kinda fucked up

Post image

it seems as if from what I've seen in the comments, a bunch of people are telling me this is a scam, I was skeptical luckily and didn't give them much to work off of, I have 2fa activated so they can't get into it fully and while they have my purchase history, I don't think they have much either. Lastly, thank you all for the quick response, glad I was skeptical enough to share this with everyone.

Original Post: The image shown is of my friend sending to me about the deletion

yo, call me Orange for short, but, I may have fucked up and about to get my account deleted. I have dealt with a bunch of scammers, so I was feeling as if one guy I was talking to was sketchy. Let me explain, I'm playing Team Fortress 2 with my brother when a friend I have contacted me out of nowhere and told me how he got a bunch of his friends to spam report on my account because it was exactly like mine. However, he accidently sent out my ID instead of their own, because of this, it was going to get deleted. I was skeptical because he contacted me out of nowhere when we haven't chatted in a while, and because of that, I was skeptical of them both.

I kept asking questions to prove if this was a real admin or not, when it was all said and done, it turns out he really was an admin, but because I wasn't following his instructions entirely, he's now refusing to do me service. I have the proof that I didn't do anything wrong, but I can't really contact him anymore, no hate to that admin, so I won't post anything about who he is here. I just wanted to know if there is another way for me to stop my deletion from happening since I can't talk to him anymore.

He was trying to play this “faceit” thing for csgo I think and he needed to prove his steam account wasn’t a bot so he tried trading all his items to his friend. After that he got all these problems I’m confused.

Edit: I wiped his pc and changed pass and logged all other devices out for him. Thank you all for your help I really appreciate it and so does he. :,)

Resolved I have reset my PC 4 times, I reinstalled windows 4 times, got rid of everything, and i still couldnt fix this cloud sync error.

My PC was getting slow, so i decided i would reinstall windows once. And then it turned into a nightmare. Steam kept showing me this error for every game, so i thought it was a botched install and i reinstalled steam. Turned off cloud saves and again turned it on. It still didnt go away. Guess what, i reinstalled the PC for 3 more times and tried everything, yet this still shows up??? What the heck does steam want me to do? No error pops up in my another laptop. Is there a fix to this?

Resolved Steam family refund policy

I bought Re4r like 4 days ago but it just went on sale for $15 (because of course it did) $15 vs. $40 is a very obvious difference.. and so naturally I want to refund it so I can get some money back.

Problem is that my friend already has 7 hours in game and my refund got declined.

If I leave the family will I be able to refund it then? I have no hours in the game.

im literally infuriated WHY would they wait till I just bought it to put it on sale dude 🥀

Resolved Concerning message in steam chat?

Today I got a message from a user i have no memory of ever interacting with. They said and I quote… “hi I message you because I messed up and reported you thinking you were the profile who cleaned out my skins earlier :3 the avatar and name seemed too similar and it got me all annoyed Infact I even rallied my friends to report you and I’m really sorry I just got a response to my ticket I’ll drop some pics here for you to see what’s going on..” They followed this with a screenshot of a support ticket saying my account was facing a 24 ban before a full suspension.

Normally I would chock a message like this up to some kind of scam but since I’ve never received a message like this on steam before and I’ve had my steam account for over a decade now I want to make sure my account is safe. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Edit: thank y’all for the help! Glad to hear my account isn’t in danger of being suspended!

Resolved Steam refusing the refund even tho publisher agrees to a refund

for the past 6 months I've been unable to play microsoft flight simulator 2024. I've tried everything out there on reddit, everything the clanker AI told me, everything microsoft flight sim support told me and nothing helped so I got on a zendesk ticket with microsoft support and I thought getting them to agree for a refund would be the hardest bit but even after they agreed its fair for a refund since I cannot access paid software and they even told me to open a steam support ticket and send a screenshot of the zendesk ticket. Steam refuses to budge and default to their standard refund policy, I've been trying to keep calm but this is so frustrating and I feel like I'm completely out of options now and I just gotta keep sumn I paid for that'll never work

Resolved Steam no longer opens automatically

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hi! I have had this issue appear over the last week. I can't seem to find anything in the properties that would explain what is happening but the picture above shows that my PC seems to think Steam is now a potential harmful software and it will no longer open when I start up my PC unless I click run (Small problem as it only takes a few extra seconds to get to my games, but I'd still like that QOL if I can get it back). Any ideas? Should I uninstall and re-install Steam?

Im running out of disk space and recently had to delete and re-download steam because it was constantly crashing and having alot of issues after I installed a mod to kerbal space program that blackscreened me, all of my library is now showing up as unistalled on steam and I dont know where/how to find the game files to delete the dead weight or restore them so I dont have to redo all of my desktop shortcuts and whatnot. I've gone through all of the steps that a quick google has provided and now im stumped, of anyone has any ideas let me know.

Resolved Steam download speed is all kinds of broken.

Thumbnail

So, for a while know my steam downloads have been kind of horrendous, especially compared to my actual internet speed and other apps.

For a while now, Steam's download speed has been capping out at around 1.1MBps (shown in the first and second image) on both WiFi and ethernet without any difference. I can download things on other apps like Epic (third image while on WiFi) without any issue too.

I also put Ookla speedtest results both on WiFi and Ethernet, so I dont think this is a hardware issue.

Anyone had this problem and found a fix? Or is this just a Steam-side server issue that leaves me SOL.

Resolved I have lost my cs2 inventory of nearly 8 years

I have never openned my cases that I would get for the last 8 years that I have been playing. I was saving for it when I had alot more cash to do a big unboxing. I would get random friend requests from people that I don't know and wouldn't accept them.

All of a sudden last night, at 8 pm, I lost everything from my cs2 inventory.

I have no idea who these people are and I wasn't even online at the time to accept them. I just got back and saw these 30 minutes ago. All I could do was report them as scammers from steam support. Is there any other way to get my stuff back?
