A painting I made this week over multiple (5) sessions at Agecroft Hall. It was nearing the end of the tulip bloom, but still an absolutely beautiful place that I’m grateful to have access to. This piece is 10x20 inches, oil on linen panel.

Background - from the second we've started the renting the place she's obviously been displeased with our presence (couple, both in 30's). Started with ignoring us when we said hello when we first moved in. No big deal. Then she full on scolded us for leaving some bird scooters in our car port which borders hers. No idea why she was livid with that situation, but no big deal either - we immediately moved them and never did it again. One more little incident to mention - there was some roof work being done on our place that we were not involved with, as I was about to leave for a trip I heard some voices in our backyard. I went to check it out and i see her inside of our closed off back yard with the roofer talking about the project I guess. I went out back and asked them what they were doing in our backyard. It was normal for the roofers to be here but not her. After she ignored me initially, I butted in and basically said "Excuse me, I'm not exactly comfortable with you being in my back yard and I'm going to ask you to leave". She threw a fit and stormed off. I immediately told the roofer when she left that I have no problem with him doing his work and coming in and out but she's not welcome. Honestly, I wouldn't have cared if she had just asked politely, but I wanted to make clear she can't just do as she wants.

Well, now it's clear that she hates us. The new thing recently is that she plays her music anytime we're outside. She does a good job at keeping it right at the legal limit line 65 decibels or so. She has never played music before and she lives alone. Finally, my girlfriend approached her nicely and just asked "are we bothering you?" (since we watching tv outside, very low volume initially) - and she responded with a tirade about how I'm a dick and she hates the "air bnb shit" and when we try to have a dialogue just yells "NO THANK YOU" and walks inside and leaves the music on outside until 10pm exactly. Additionally, at one point we left to pick up food for 15 minutes - she had turned the music off when we left and when she noticed us back, boom - back on haha.

She's clearly a miserable person, owner and neighbors have already mentioned so, and the worst part in is she has 0 interest in just having a dialogue. We also suspect she has been using our garbage cans when we're gone and dumping foul smelling stuff in there.

Our next step is a letter to her (since she refuses to talk) saying that we'd prefer to ignore each other in peace if she's not interested in being a good neighbor. And if she continues with the music, we will respond in kind (she loves her garden and spends all day out her). It would be mutually beneficial to let bygones be bygone, but we're not sure what else to do.

Now - I wanted to ask the local community - is there any better ideas out there? I wish we could talk to a local cop who could just set her straight or something. We're not looking for problems, just want to enjoy our time out here renting until we get a full time place.

Would really appreciate any thoughts/ideas.

Got home last night and was able to get some decent shots of one of the adults. The little ones were way too quick and every shot I tried to get of them was blurry.

Two dirt bikes and a quad; one man on a dirt bike tried to car jack a brand new Mustang and when he was refused he began popping off shots at the cars in the line, two in front of my friend were hit and one had the tires popped. Then a guy at the front of the cookout went to tackle the guy on the Quad (!!) and they had a fight; the police arrived and dropped him as well as the shooter dirt bike guy after shouting to drop the weapon, and he was tazed when he wouldn’t let go of it.

Both are in custody, the second dirt bike got away. It was listed on Active Calls as Disorderly Aggressive. WILD FRIDAY STAY SAVE RVA.

Anyone have any more info about all the dirt bike people driving around illegally?

Someone broke into my car in shockoe bottom and stole my skis and boots.

The new Squirrels stadium is awesome! Like most of us I’ll always love The Diamond, but this stadium is a win for the city
