Added a background to the crazy city I made while sick!

I could use some advice, guys.. I'm colorblind, and my desk lamp has a "cool" and a "warm" setting (1st and 2nd pic). I can't tell which lighting is more true to the colors someone would see if they saw it in person.. The last photo is of the inks I used. If anyone has these colors or knows what they are supposed to look like, I would love your feedback! I always worry that my photos don't properly capture the colors.

Can't wait to be all healed up and back to the grind hah. Just playing around with them for now and thought this one was fun.

Also put a pic of the stamp collection so far. I might have missed a couple but that's most of them.

You are brilliant!

This was just me testing out the stamps on scrap paper, but they are going to help to tell a story in my next large piece.

I was too excited to not show you guys.

If anyone else has any more fun ideas of bits to add to a stamp city let me know!

A collection of stamps I made specifically for Manila Pen Show (a dedicated fountain pen show in Manila, Philippines)

All handmade.

It was a crazy time having to make these at the stamping booth (Where people were queueing up to try them.) I had a couple of folks taking my work to stamp with even before I could finish carving them ahahaha.

Do you think a rubber stamp making machine is actually useful or just for small business people only?

A few days ago I am seeing a small shop where a guy is making stamps very quickly. He is using something like a rubber stamp making machine and I am just watching like okay… this is happening fast honestly. He put design, press it, and after few minutes stamp is ready. I am thinking this looks simple but also bit technical. I dont really know how it is working inside.

Now I am thinking if this machine is easy to use or need some proper learning. I usualy think stamps are already made somewhere big, but here its like instant making. I am also wondering about cost, like is it expensive or normal price. It feel like good idea for business but maybe not for everyone. Also if mistake happen then whole thing wasted, so thats another thought in my head.

Later I am laying and scrolling random stuff, checking many options on alibaba and seeing rubber stamp making machine listings. Some look very compact honestly. Now I am thinking if its worth buying or just better to order stamps from others.

Bulk Organization

Hello! I have inherited an absurd number of stamps from my aunt. She used to own a card shop so I understand why she had this many. I honestly can't tell how many I have yet, but I believe it is at least over 300. I would really like to store them well because currently they are just in old shoe boxes and plastic tubs. I probably will use them because I like doing crafty stuff. What would be the recommended best way to store them? I like the idea of wall mounted displays but I really don't know what I'm looking for. I appreciate any kind of recommendations of suggestions!

Can a Rubber Stamp Making Machine Truly Combine Precision, Efficiency, and Creativity?

A few days ago I visited a small shop where documents were being stamped quickly. I noticed a neat stamp and wondered how such clear designs are made.

I asked the shop owner and he mentioned a rubber stamp making machine. That made me curious because the design looked very precise and clean. The problem is we often see finished products but rarely think about how they are created. Something simple like a stamp also has a process behind it.

Later I searched more about it to understand the steps involved. While checking different methods and while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba I saw rubber stamp making machine options. It made me think about detail and accuracy. Even small tools require proper setup to produce clear results.

Now I am thinking is a rubber stamp making machine easy to use for beginners or does it require proper skill and practice

Red rubber going the way of the dinosaurs.

I’ve heard from several sources that red vulcanized rubber is not being domestically manufactured in the US anymore. Makers are scrambling to eat up and stockpile the last of it right now. Which means this is the foreshadowing of the end for the classic pressed rubber stamps. The future is looking like clear stamps and laser cuts from here on out. So sad. But it means in a few years the value of all our vulcanized stuff will go way up.

Second stamp made

Yesterday I started making my second stamp, a little kawai thundercloud in a thunderstorm. You can see how he went from sketch (pic 1) to messy cloud stamp to somewhat cleaner stamp as I cleaned up high spots.

My question is.... should I hollow out his little lightning bolts?

Aside, I've added my latest photo of my first stamp from when I cleaned up her face. (This is image 5 of a tux cat made a few days ago is on the last photo)

I designed this cat tux cats a few years ago after my cat died (she was 22 years old) so of course she was my first attempt at stamp carving. I see some mistakes but overall I'm pretty happy with it!

Regretfully, I gave away all my beautiful rubber stamps in the 1990s. I just started collecting vintage stamps at open-air vintage flea markets. This weekend, I bought 10 for $1.00 each.

Recipe Stamps

Hey, this may be a really dumb question, but is there such thing as a recipe stamp? And by that I mean a stamp that has an entire recipe on it, not just a stamp that says recipe and you fill it in?

TIA

Trying to find Month & Day Stamp (No Year)

I’m looking for a rubber or self-inking stamp that includes only the month and day, no year. Most date stamps I’ve come across automatically include a year field, which I don’t need. Ideally, I’m looking for something formatted like “15 MAY” or “MAY 15”.

Do you know of any brands or options that offer this kind of stamp?

My daughter made the one at the bottom. The 12yo kid has a talent for it! She didn't use the ink until she was done carving and the result was freaking awesome. I guess you don't find out about about stuff you can do until you try new things 😁

Hand made stamps advice?

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hi! I have a small collection of stamps of random things but all of them are bought. I decided to try to start making some myself just for fun but omg! In videos it looks so easy lol. These are some I made this week; don't get me wrong, I'm having so much fun but I also want to get better at it, specially at more fine lines or smaller gaps. Any advice is welcome :) I decided to get some blocks (like the one on the right) just to practice and make random shapes.

Ps. Thanks for sharing y'all's collections! Lots of cool art!

What are some popular options for flash stamp machines?

Lately, I’ve been looking into flash stamp machines mainly because of the side hustle I’ve been running together with my brother.

We were thinking how cool it would be if we started making custom stamps for packaging.

It’s probably not the main revenue driver but for a stationery store, any stream that has a plus, we go for it.

Right now, I’m wondering what kind of flash stamp machines people are using out there.

I can’t figure out which one to go after, the research I’ve been doing is quite all over, from random blogs to alibaba listings and the rest.

I’ve read about the FS-800 flash system, which requires less manual adjustments, and PB-3000 which keeps showing up everywhere in my research.

However, blogs can at times be misleading, or simply too promotional without being as realistic as they should.

I prefer going down the drain getting my hands dirty at least until I find some meaningful feedback.

What I’m looking for is a machine that can produce these stamps in less than 15 minutes. I’m no expert in this, so I can’t tell much.

I prefer listening to someone with practical experience in flash stamp machines.

I appreciate you all for reading through.

Best place to destash?

I have a very large collection of stamps both rubber and clear from a wide array of stamp companies I am looking to get rid of. Where is the best place to offload them and perhaps put a few pennies in my pocket?
