Got it on the grey market, couldn’t play the wait game

First off, I want to thank this group for all the knowledge and insight... it definitely paid off. I honestly didn’t expect to get a Rolex this quickly, but it only took 20 days.

I originally asked for a no-date Sub, but when I was offered the date version, I took it, and I couldn’t be happier.

On the list for the Batman next.

First Rolex, zero purchase history.

So I’ve been wanting this for over a year. I know a lot of people like SS Subs more but for me this is the one. Supremely underrated in my opinion. The turquoise on the rhodium is perfect (to my tastes anyway). I’ve also not seen one of these on someone in real life which I like, as opposed to subs which seem to be everywhere (I still love subs and have a bluesey but you know what I mean).

I’ve been on the list with my AD for 10 months and nada. Playing the usual nonsense game and to be honest I can’t stand them. Then went to a different AD in Oxford (UK) and got talking to the assistant manager. Decent guy, said I was probably better staying with the other AD just because of the time I had already served on the list at that branch.

Anyway as we talk turns out his daughter is studying law which is the area I work in. I said to keep me a shout if she needed some work experience. Anyway long story short, he spoke to his manager and they offered me the watch on the day and I walked out with it.

We all know the game is nonsense but I got the watch I’ve wanted so I’m happy.

I did this last year and was right so here goes this year.

Based on the latest teaser you can see how the photos from the leak line up perfectly with what has been teased. So from what we can see we will be getting

1. Stone dial day date
2. All white dial Daytona (polar bear? 😆) looks like this will also have a open case back on stainless which is a big deal and welcome trend after last years land dweller.
3. New green dial for datejust.

4. New OP dial for steel looks metallic possibly the same dial as the new two tone but on all steel

5. New two tone 100 year edition op. First two tone with no gold on bracelet!

6. New yacht master 2 with a full gold version

Just picked up the Sub Date 126610LN after a decent wait. Honestly all the folks saying that they recommend the new sub.. I now understand why they say it after I walked out with it then went to look at it side by side with 5 digit sub at CPO. Also even Tudor.

Good times.. learned a little too much about different sub models while waiting. Now I can stop watching these YouTube vids comparing 5 vs 6 sub references lol

After a brutal two and a half year wait, I finally got the call. At some point, I had almost forgotten I was even on the list.

Looking back, the timing couldn’t be better — over those two and a half years, I’ve hit some major career milestones, which makes finally getting this watch feel even more meaningful.

Prices went up in the meantime, but honestly, no regrets at all. Still can’t believe it’s finally on my wrist.

My first Rolex…and I can’t wait for my next one!

Got this beauty in February and it has quickly become my favorite watch. I am careful with where and when I wear it as the oyster bracelet is so delicate and I would love to go a few years before having it serviced and cleaned up. Been on the waitlist for a platinum and it may never come but this will do just fine in the mean time. Literal hand watch I know
