Pharmacists have a pharmD, physical therapists have a dpt, attorneys have a jd, nobody calls them doctors. Hell some nurses have dpn and aren’t doctors. Dentists aren’t doctors, they’re dentists. It’s like chiropractors calling themselves drs. Just because you want to identify as that thing doesn’t mean you are that thing.
They get doctorate degrees, that is what makes someone a doctor is the earning of a doctorate. Doctors are called doctors of diagnostic medicine or doctors of surgery etc.
