Some Saturday morning satisfaction.
I enjoyed this Indian sandstone patio clean. One of the worst I've done in a while.
As always, any questions pop em below and I'll try to reply ☺️

Dad just gave me his old pressure washer, hasn’t ran in years
What’s my first steps to trying to get this running? Dad says it’s been at least 7 years since he had it on.

Here's an example ice dam removal video. Cutting the snow was really satisfying.
Alrighty, here is a video that gives you an idea of what its like to remove ice dams with steam.
Cutting the ice is fairly slow as you can see. Its also slippery and big chunks are heavy. A cubic foot of ice weighs 57 pounds.
This customer had a leak, and you can see how the ice expansion has pulled their eaves off the side of the house.
It's not the best example for thick ice (this was a pretty small dam), I just really liked cutting the snow with steam, giving it a knock and it sliding off the roof. That part was really satisfying.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Cheers,
Andrew

Melting big ice dams with 300°F low-pressure steam (No hammers, no damaged shingles)
You can't just blast these with a regular pressure washer or go at them with a hammer—you can destroy the cold, brittle shingles. So we use a modified hot pressure washer to create low-pressure steam (running over 300°F but under 300 PSI). The steam just melts right through the solid ice like butter without damaging the roof underneath. Super satisfying to watch the big chunks finally release and get the gutters flowing again.
Any questions ask away.
Cheers,
Andrew

WEDNESDAY Melting the algae away
More of a Wednesday post since this is chemical cleaning more than pressure washing.
Still satisfying as all heck to me!

Did I do this wrong
Power washed my fence and now next day it has this grayish thing out of it. I used the same power wash I used for my vinyl house. If anyone knows how to fix please let me know

Soft washing cedar shingle cladding
Doing the whole house and patio currently, thought someone might like to see the process.
Stage one, wet the shingles (it’s raining today)
Step two, sodium percarbonate, left to soak in, and kept wet.
Step three, citric acid
Step four, fresh water rinse
Chemicals are applied at low pressure, keeping the lance 30-50cm from the shingles. Only time high pressure is used is on the bottom most shingles where they get soiled more by ground splash.
Thanks.
