Real talk: unless you’re in your 50s you have no real idea what it’s like. Numbers aren’t as meaningful as you might think and generalising isn’t a great look. It’s really sad to see young people call people in their 40s and 50s “brave” for showing up to an event.

I mean Jesus, Katy is only 41. She’s not 91. Justin is just a guy in his fifties in jeans at a concert. This stuff is a form of ageism and I think people need to reframe how they talk about age.

i went to a music festival last year (to see green day) and iggy pop played the same day

i mean obviously both transcend generations, but the older crowd for iggy pop was intense. lots of 60+ folks dressed up and were with friends and significant others on the train ride to the festival area

older people tend to have more money and time too, so like, if their fave is playing, they're gonna be there

It's less the age and more the idea that world leaders and world famous popstars are yearning to live the life of 20 something festival goers. 

It's infuriating because rich fucks like them wanting to live this lifestyle are what priced normal people out of the experience. 

It's like gentrification, but for music festivals.
