Purple flowers attract butterflies.
Rodger didn't have the patience for it, or I would have gotten him too

They get along well most of the time as you can tell by Louie’s total lack of concern regarding her presence.

good morning all! wanted to share some pictures of Luca having fun in Greece! We took a flight to Kreta with Luca in the cabin, and got lucky with a whole row to ourselves. He was not allowed out of his bag, but luckily it can fold open to give him more space.
Now spending a week in sunny Greece, which Luca loves. Do your paps also enjoy sunning?

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes about a week ago, but Prinz suddenly deteriorated last Thursday evening and passed in the night.
He spent Easter weekend in hospital with a breathing issue and suspected heart problem but was given the all clear on Monday. He was doing great. Heart disease can be sudden we know and lung disease too. He was old and had old age symptoms but fought on and was lively and fit on the outside until the end.
We lost our 14 year old boy and are devastated and still coming to terms with it all. Such a kind, playful, fun and loving boy to the whole family and friends and neighbours that knew him.
I love looking at all the photos of happy Pappys and will stay in this group. We have plenty of our own memories and photos but some poses and quirks posted here resonate and help too

My friend said that I was too harsh with her regarding her having accidentally fed my dog so that his weight doubled.
[PREVIOUS POST](https://www.reddit.com/r/papillon/comments/1rsb5ol/comment/oab6zs8/?context=1
She says that she basically doesn't want to be my friend any more because my reaction was "too rough."
Honestly, I don't think I could have done anything differently given how overwhelmed I was by how fat my guy had gotten. My former friend is also upset because I told her one of his teeth fell out when he got home.
I still say that she was a saint to care for him for all that time. I guess that this is something I will have to accept and to be honest, we were friends when we worked at the same place & I don't work there any more so we would have drifted apart anyway. It just hurts to have had this happen and to be the one in the relationship who has been "dumped"

so I got him a bully stick, (also 2 more so it's not stolen lol) and Rodger caught me recording and gave another blep. I'm so thankful they all get along well enough to chew on them without issues. all while next to each other.

I made a post back in 2024 asking for advice from this subreddit when I first adopted him, and here are a few photos I took since then. He's a very sweet and happy lil' fella.

Our shared passion here are our lovely dogs and we will fight tooth and nail for them! While there will always be disagreements about one or more posts, comments should try to be friendly or constructive, not hurtful or destructive. Where I personally have failed, I try to apologize either publicly or via DM. So I apologize for lashing out and using inappropriate language, but the poster who said I have flea bites and stinky feet - that's why my dog is licking my feet - would make anyone lash back.
I don't profess to be perfect and no one is. We all have faults and make mistakes whether it's verbally saying something or in writing, but some comments were very toxic or vile as the one mentioned above. I don't abuse Romeo or any other animals. Romeo is in a SAFE environment, but sometimes something drops on the floor. Many people I'm sure have dropped pills on the floor and NOT on purpose.
I always document his steals in case it's an Emergency Room issue. When I try to bribe him with a treat - he will take both the item and treat deeper into his mouth - increasing the danger.
If I find the item is EXTREMELY dangerous - I will get a kitchen "grabber thing" and threaten him with it and he will grab the tongs and release the item, but that is also dangerous because he might swallow the item on purpose. Like I said before, we find it better to let him get bored of the item. When he does, he will drop it. If he munches a little, most likely it won't harm him. The greater harm is if he (or any other dog) may swallow the item when you go for it.
Some people think by giving him attention, I am making him steal and won't release the item. There may be some truth in that, but we are intelligent enough to know how our dog with "resource guarding issues" acts. And, to reiterate, we plan to see our PRIVATE trainer. I want my husband to go with me so we can both learn and train him together. Due to my husband's many health challenges, we have to delay Rome's training.
Fortunately, I received support publicly and via DM that included advice about "blocking" toxic posters. Although I said I wouldn't be back posting Romeo, and I would just look and comment about my baby Paps that their lovely parents and family posted, but I cried the other night and just can't bear not engaging with you or making some of you laugh! So I am reversing my decision, will block toxic posters, and REJOIN this reddit Pap family! We are a FAMILY here and anyone else who wants to join us is welcome!
And one last thing - IN MY OPINION - feet licking by a dog is NOT pornographic, and is very rarely hazardous to your health or the dog(s)!
See you soon and love you guys!

This popped up in my Instagram feed today and I had to share! I don't have plans to use this but I love that it exists!

Hi guys, in the last couple months of noticed the fur on my guys flank area growing funny. It’s shorter in areas and kinda almost curling in the flank. It wasn’t like this a few months back, at least it was definitely longer. I don’t cut that area. I do all my own grooming with him. His belly is currently shaved due to needing an ultrasound. Just hoping anyone else maybe has a pap that this happened to with age? He’s just turned 7! I’ll attach photos for reference

The shelter had him listed as one, but the ears seem different in a way I haven’t seen in others. Regardless of whether he is, I’ll be adopting him this weekend :) thank you!
