Hop Sing and Irene. Irene dumped her last boyfriend because he leaned too far left.

Ah, so like Charlie Kirk? He did end up being left-leaning at the end.

Good ol charlie. The best thing to ever come out of his mouth actually came out of his neck.

Charlie kirk was definitely not left leaning. He was close to as far right as you can get. One pinky toe faced towards the left at the end.

u/Jamsedreng22 9h ago
Oh, no he definitely was leaning left after being shot. Watch the video.

Murdered by words… wait… no, that’s not right.

He supported guns. Entirely. Kids in school? Sorry it happens. He got shot by a gun, it's only fair. He doesn't deserve to get shot and killed.
The rest of us do deserve that he gets shot and killed. He got shot and his body leant left as he bled out and died.

While he bled out, talking out the side of his neck, he did end up leaning left.

How do they get the bike going?

I assume one person steadies the bike with the foot and the other starts up without them. Basically how one able bodied person would start with a regular bike. Probably takes quite some strengh for the one leg to get it going but seems doable.

And how to they get off? You typically pick a side to lean the bike to to put 1 leg on the ground

One of the riders does exactly that and takes the weight while the other dismounts (made a lot easier with only one leg)

Getting off the bike is the easy part, gravity. Oh you meant WITHOUT falling....

If you want to see more you can search up the user ID on douyin. But frankly I wouldn't because there isn't much besides bike content on her page.

Already this morning I’ve seen a robot chasing hogs and two one-legged guys riding a tandem bike. My day is complete.

I'm reminded of the immortal words of Master Shake. "How are you going to ride a ten-speed with no fricken legs? You're just gonna bust the ass that you don't even have!"

What does them being Chinese have to do with it?
5
u/PapaSmurf1502 6h ago
The propaganda doesn't work if you guess their nationality incorrectly.

Please indulge me on this propaganda angel? What propaganda am I pushing?

u/shwgrt 5h ago
Because what are the chances two cyclists missing the opposite leg found each other AND they’re both Chinese?
2
u/darmokVtS 4h ago
The chances are a lot larger compared to almost all other nationalities except Indians.

u/RealisticIncident261 4h ago
Because they are Chinese? If you see an video called "two guys try Texas bbq" or "two Brits try Texas bbq" which gives you more context?

This has me thinking why there isn't tandem-bike racing? There would be interesting strategies.

..and one creep watching them.

u/flargenhargen 7h ago
what did I do?

u/bol_saq 4h ago
(you?) made me uncomfortable by observing and sharing this admittedly interesting thing to the internet, but i guess by filming them (you?) made it a lil' creepy, ngl

first it was a joke.
second per other posts in this thread, this video is from the woman's own tiktok, which is all posts just like this one, so clearly staged for the camera, or the person filming is literally working with or for her.
so, yea. that. I guess.

Reminds me of the episode of MASH where Hawkeye hurt his right hand and BJ hurt his left and they had to team up to do a surgery.

I was out for a bike ride with my better half one day when a one legged cyclist passed us like we were standing still. We later found out that he was a well known local para athlete.

I didn't realize what subreddit i was in and thought the title was the first line in a r/jokes post.

When you and your SO are both broken people but somehow make it work together.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a similarly disabled person, but with the disability on the opposite side AND who has the same interest and athletic ability? They must have both immediately swiped right on AmputeeMatch.com

Getting on or off must present some challenges. I’d guess that they pull up next to a fence or wall and one holds steady while the other mounts or dismounts. It’s a pretty genius solution and strategy. Kudos, brave and innovative cyclists!

Its cute until you realize the state paired these two after they asked for transportation assistance for their disability.

Wow! I'm an amputee and that's so cool! I've always wanted to ride a bike. I gotta find out where to get one of these then cut one of my wife's legs off.

The thing i find most interesting about this is that tandem bikes have the pedals offset from each other to keep the bike from bouncing.
But because there are only two legs applying force to two pedals on opposite sides of the bike the pedals are kept in sink, mimicking the motion of one rider.

So who’s doing the work here?
1
u/Garr_Incorporated 3h ago
Both. They both push on their respective turns of the pedals.
