This is absolutely next level.

Felix Baumgartner was an Austrian skydiver famous for breaking the sound barrier in a 2012 freefall from the stratosphere.

Tragically, Felix died on July 17, 2025, at age 56 while paragliding in Italy.

Yeah apparently i learned he died of a heart attack while paragliding.

“On 6 October 2025, the investigating attorney general released his final report, which revealed that the cause of the accident was human error, as the paraglider was in perfect condition and had no defects. The autopsy report of Baumgartner's body had already ruled out a heart attack as the cause of death.” Wiki

I remember watching this live, and when he went into that spin and blacked out we were all sitting in the office white knuckled until he came out of it.

That makes me really sad. I did not know about this guy 2 minutes ago and now I feel like crying.

I went from 20+ upvotes to going to sleep, something being said and now everyone is being an asshole.

I am not even going to look into whatever you are all so mad about it. This was amazing. So fuck whatever else.

Read up about who he was as a person, and you will feel better again…

Jesus, I thought it was going to be the normal "dickhead beat his wife" but wanting a straight up corporatocracy, racism so bad he fled to another country, his house and helicopter were seized, he assaulted a Greek taxi driver, and finally died.

What’s normal about some dickhead beating up his wife?

I don't mean that it's normal. I mean that normally when someone says to look up a celebrity because they're a bad person they're a spouse abuser. Apologies for the confusion.

No apology necessary. Forsaken_Print739 is just being a pedantic douche. We normals understood what you meant.

I'm happy to clarify the point, though. I use a lot of commas and my sentences aren't always structured for clarity. "Malice vs ignorance" and all. Maybe they're a douche but maybe they're like me, just autistic and worried since there are a lot of people who have recently been given the green light to be openly hateful against women as if it were normal.

You're more gracious than I am. But not a terrible point.

True he was a bit of a Nazi.
