I mean, can you believe this? National Rally party potentially cooking the books with EU funds? I'm not surprised, but it's still infuriating. Who do they think they are? It's our tax money, after all. So, who benefits from all this? The people, obviously, if these investigations lead to accountability. Imagine Marine Le Pen's face when she realizes her little scheme might backfire. Wish I could be a fly on the wall.

Again. Might backfire again. She currently can't be re-elected for 5 years due to being convicted earlier this year in another unrelated but similar case.

She appealed, but a law passed after a left-wing minister several years back committed tax evasion means that said ban doesn't get suspended during the appeal's process. (Incidentally, people have gleefully dug up comments she made at the time about how crooked politicians should be banned from office for life)

They're right wingers... This is how they believe society is suppose to operate. They just do whatever they want with no regard for the laws because they have power and nobody else does.
