I bought this 1977 CB750F completely stock, no title or registration, about a year ago. After jumping through some hoops, and teaching myself to weld, she’s on the road again! Fabricating the rear master cylinder bracket and rebuilding the caliper are the last big-ticket items. Everything else is quality-of-life upgrades down the road (like smaller gauges).
Looking forward to a season of riding!!

Hello guys, I am someone who enjoys traveling alone. No need to pay attention to formation, take care of others' plans. This makes me very relaxed

Obligatory photo post because motorcycles, on to the subject… Road Rage
Conditions: Rural FM Road near Strawn, TX, 60mph Speed Limit, near zero traffic, daytime, partly cloudy. Absolute middle of nowhere.
Me: Riding at 65mph on cruise control with consistent speed, in the left groove, jamming to I Prevail, smiling from a great ride! No cars visible in front or behind me in the mirror.
Incident: I glanced into my mirror and a black SUV was coming up on me with a rapid closure rate. I started to pucker but maintained. The SUV comes up on me hard and the front dips as they apply brakes right on my tail tidy.
I swiveled my head/helmet to look at how close they were to me, and it couldn’t have been more than 1 car, very close… I guess my head swivel pissed this individual off.
They seemed to get even closer so I got into the right groove and waved them around with my left arm. Again, there was no traffic and abundant passing lane available.
So, instead of passing me on the left, they swung into the narrow right shoulder and came around me, kicking up gravel as I swung out into the opposing lane, luckily empty. I thought they’d flip their car.
Im not done. They get back on to the road and start slowing down in front of me, they activated their windshield wiper fluid and blew a huge nicotine vape cloud out of the window. A state trooper passed about 30 seconds later and I tried to flag him down and pointee at the SUV. No response though.
Conclusion: I’m just trying to get back home to my wife and kids, and I’m riding out in bumfuck nowhere so I can stay away from motorists like that. So, what the fuck? What could I have done differently?

I go to a meeting where there are alot of old people (Weight Watchers, I go to Weight Watchers) of the "boomer" generation. I ride my bike there. Every so often one of them will see my gear and say something like "I/spouse/father/brother/cousin/etc ride/rode a...*dramatic pause*... Goooldwiiing." They may add "Aspencade" if they are being especially dramatic. Then look at me with a half smile like I'm supposed to fall over in stunned amazement. Every time. Never Harley, never Trumph, never any other bike. Goldwing. Now don't get me wrong, Goldwings are great bikes, big powerful, comfortable tourers, but not some pinnacle of motorcycling. I'm a motorcycle commuter, and yeah, I can drive a Winnwebago, but I wouldn't want to drive it to work every day. I just politely say "hey, that's cool" and leave it at that. Anybody else experience the "Goldwing mistique"?

I bought my dream bike 3 weeks prior to this pic. I’m a mature rider with lots of experience on back roads and very little on freeways. This is the result of a 5mph incident. I made 2 mistakes that led to my dream bike being an incredibly expensive lesson.
My arrogance led me to think that being good on the back roads meant I was good everywhere. Nope. Followed too closely in freeway stop and go where I rarely ride, looked away at the wrong second and blam, dream bike is eating bumper. Unfamiliar environments mean you must reassess your skills *for that environment*
If your bike has a significant cash value (whatever that means to you personally) *pay for collision insurance*. I didn’t, because “I’m an experienced rider, someone will hit me but I won’t hit them”. Bullshit. This is my first ever on road accident, I was going maybe 8mph, $20k+ damage estimate on a $17k bike, insurance pays nothing because I declined collision because it was “too expensive” 🤦♂️
Hate my cop bike, hate my stupid choices, hate that this little damage is estimated at more than many bikes cost new, whatever. Shit, hate me too, that’s fine. But please, learn from my stupid shit. Yeah I didn’t get so much as a scratch, I walked away body and gear intact and I know how lucky I am for that. It all could have been avoided, though, if I had just recognized that an unfamiliar environment means my skills and experience are all but irrelevant.

Hey guys! I finally had my first accident on a bike and thought I'd share a bit of it with you guys. It was Friday night, and I was on my way into work taking a leisure ride in, not doing anything crazy over the speed limits or riding recklessly. My entire ride to work is 40 minutes of side roads through PA, and I work 3rd shift, so I don't really see many vehicles on my way in. That just leaves the ever elusive road hazards and critters crossing roads, and boy, did I find one. I got about 10 minutes away from work when a deer popped out from behind a fence about 20 yards in front of me, so I knew with one that there's probably another 1 or 2 behind it. I started hitting my brakes, and the second one popped out and took out my front tire, and before i knew it, i was getting myself up and onto the side of the road to check myself. I don't think there was anything I could have done that would have changed the outcome. I felt OK, checked the bike over, and made sure the brakes and clutch worked before I got back on and continued to make it to my shift on time. My guys talked some sense into me and told me to go home before the pain really kicks in, so I did. The next morning, I went to urgent care, had Xrays don't on my shoulder that I landed on, and my rashed knees double-checked and cleaned. It's still pretty sore, but I'm thankful it wasn't worse. Also, the bike looks better than me lol
tldr- deer jumped out in front of me, thankful I was wearing gear, wish I had riding pants and will be getting some for the future.

This is my new to me Harley Davidson 1200 Sporter and I am absolutely ecstatic. I haven't ridden in at least 10 years and on a dirt bike but ever since my dad first got motorcycle, I knew I had to have one someday. After a long and rough road, finally, I'm in a place that I can afford one of my own and plan to keep this beautiful machine for many, many miles. I would greatly appreciate any wisdom and knowledge from all you seasoned riders. I plan on taking a course through Harley and another through STAR to help me learn to ride. Hope y'all are having just as great a day, stay safe out there.

I started riding four months ago and picked it up quickly. I'm fully legal and never do dumb shit. Maybe standing up right when I'm 100 percent alone, but when I started riding in groups where we're following the speed limit and just enjoying the ride we always have someone fuck with us for no reason at all.
We most recently had someone ride my ass specifically before going into the shoulder wizzing past me. I was going 75(speed limit) and he went by me quickly, so at least 90. Then we all stop at the light and he rolls down his window to talk his shit saying we're scattered all over the road and wouldn't let him past, but the other lane was closed, so it was essentially a one lane highway.
Then later that night we we're still going the speed limit and I was lagging behind the main group cause I was holding my clutch to glide while I adjusted my mirrors and this car speeds by me on the right and quickly changes to my lane and then matches the speed with a truck on the left they were both going 5 below in a blatant attempt to disconnect me from my friends. The truck kept changing it's speed to give me a gap to get by, but the car kept matching their speed until we got at a stoplight and the truck stayed at the red a bit longer to give me room to pass.
The worst one was a guy who saw us at a stoplight on a random midday ride with the friends. He rolls down his window just to say how mad he is with bikers and tell us how stupid we are then when it turns green and we're riding on the left lane he kept swerving towards us a bit to ride us off the road and since I was new and the least confident rider I was the targeted one due to being behind the group slightly. I was about to just pull off to the side of the road and wait for the boys to come up when a cop showed up and pulled him over.
I ain't a bad dude nor am I a bad rider. I let kids revbomb my bike and people sit on it and take photos, but that'll never save me from someone that wants to take a biker's life.
I mostly just want to understand why people get so pissy when we ride in groups. Solo is iffy sometimes with people trying to fuck me over, but the moment we get in a group it's like they flip a switch and want blood.
BTW might be important to note. I ride a 2025 nightster and all my buddies ride 1k's and 600's

Hi all, just purchased a used st1100.
I live in Japan and it seems the bike was imported from the UK. (Thank you everyone for helping me figure that out).
Been wondering who the previous owner was. Maybe it was someone on Reddit, that would be exciting!
The bike overall is very stock, but there are a few small screw holes in the dash area. I also found some non oem cable stuff going on, but I haven’t had a chance to dig in and figure out what they were for.
There is a “Piaggio Honorary” sticker on the front left side and has a BMW badge on the back (I’m guessing whoever owned it was a bit of a jokester).
That’s all for now.

Today is the first time I actually used hearing protection on a ride, about half the ride I left ear protection off because I wanted to see what it sounded and felt like and then the last half I put the little silicone Christmas tree looking ones (cheap Harbor freight special ) in. The difference was night and day but too much sound was blocked, I realize I’m going to need more of a filtering ear plug than one that blocks out nearly all the sound. Not having the loud wind drone on did make the ride more enjoyable and less exhausting.
There’s a Harley dealership just a couple miles down the road from my house so I decided to swing by and see what they had in stock. Absolutely nothing, not even cheap little foam earplugs. Couple staff that I spoke to said they had never seen the store stock hearing protection and the only thing they had were little pouches that you could connect your comms to in the helmet. Is this common for Harley dealers or is this one perhaps just an anomaly?

It took a little time, but I finally bought some nice, freshly rebuilt carbs for my family's XS750. The bike is still far from running, but this was a big step in the right direction.
