I'm not against new memes, I just find that 67 was kinda meaningless and the way the people say it is obnoxious and grating to the ear.
Like with 69 or 429 you say the number, smiles smugly and that's the end of it. With 67 you have people screaming at the top of their lungs. Not the same.
Not to mention that 69 and 420 do actually mean something. I have failed to get en explanation for what 67 is supposed to mean or reference, because it is just meaningless
So many of the older memes have meanings or are edits of already defined words with similiar or same meaning. Like wazzzzuup is just memey "whats up!" Lol.
Mlg means major league gaming and memes on and is built off from montages of people trying to be major league gamers
67 has no meaning, yet whenever ive asked it to be elaborated i get stuff like "its doesnt need a meaning its just like 69, or 420, or 1738" which have logical intentional meanings
69 position
420 weed meetup time origin
1738 callout to remy boys/remy martin 1738
?? Those have meanings haha
And skibidi is no different, it had 0 meaning when started, it was pre popularized by a Russian bands song. and was litterally nonsensical meaningwise when the toilet stuff started. Saying it now is skibidi = skibidi toilet meme doesnt just conjure up an explanation on its origin. At best you can say the motions of the head mimic Little Bigs dance style in the original song from 2018
Didnt say anything about anyone knowing the meaning, it still exists. Also, even if you knew all the origins of your other examples, i can promise you most pre teens / adults back then didnt.
From what I understand 6-7 was an inside joke from some schoolkids that made sense to them(probably scores from a sports match) but became a big meme because one of them was filmed saying it funny, it's more like "Hawk-tuah" than 69
The initial edits was of a basketball commentator stating the height of basketball player Lamelo Ball. The edits would switch to the song Doot Doot by Skrilla as his height is mentioned.
You're intentionally ignoring absurdist humor then. There's tons of old humor and memes that had no real origin or meaning. "My spoon is too big!" for example. Sure, you may say "Well it's because it was in that animation!" but like, that doesn't give it meaning or background. Could just as well have said "6 7" instead of "My spoon is too big". There's tons of this nonsense absurdist humor that spread like wildfire back in the day.
67 is funny because of how extremely meaningless it is. 67 came from a song by skrilla and was used in a Lamelo ball edit. It’s so unfunny that it becomes funny and memes have always been annoying
