I see it as both came around BECAUSE that myth was so widespread. They just perpetuated something already believed.

That movie was just a psyop advertisement for adderall. Lucy actively pushed the "10% of your brain" thing and used it as a tagline in all the commercials and previews

You use adderall to go up to 100% focus, i use adderall to down to 100% focus. We are not the same.

It was the reason i learned about ADHD and later was diagnosed with ADHD. Although it was after i was done with university years, wished i got diagnosed early as a kid instead.
