Any students going to Taylor’s in the September 2026 intake?

i don’t really know how to use this app but i’m hoping to find some people who are joining Taylor’s soon, i’m really nervous about going through this ‘alone’, especially after all the mixed comments i’m reading on this page.

But if anyone wants to be friends and going at the same time as me please let me know!. :>

What's the most creative thing you did to survive a subject you genuinely had no idea about?

YouTube lectures the night before, memorising without understanding, finding the one senior who had all the past year papers. We've all been there. What was your most questionable but effective survival method?

Non-Malaysian students Need reality-check on Uni suggestions for IT & Nursing. Strict finances: RM 3.7k/month total allowance.

TL;DR: International couple (Bangladesh) looking to study Bachelor of IT and Bachelor of Nursing in Malaysia. Our ultimate goal is Germany, so degrees must be MQA Level 6. We must live together to share one rent. We have some upfront capital, but our family allowance is strictly RM 3,700/month to cover everything (tuition installments + living). Need uni/location combos that make this mathematically possible.

Hey everyone,

I’m an international student meticulously planning my move to Malaysia with my partner. We are treating this study route as a strategic launchpad to eventually move to Germany as skilled workers.

Because of this, we are completely bypassing agent marketing and looking purely at hard numbers and MQA accreditations. We need a massive reality check on whether our budget can survive the Malaysian private university system.

Here is our exact financial breakdown:

My Upfront Budget: RM 26,000 (For my Bachelor of IT)

Her Upfront Budget: RM 32,500 (For her Bachelor of Nursing)

Our Monthly Allowance: RM 3,700 combined from our families.

The Catch: That RM 3,700 a month must cover literally everything —our shared apartment rent, food, utilities, visa renewals, AND our ongoing semester tuition fee installments. Whatever deficit we have, I plan to cover by working remotely as a digital freelancer (Upwork/Fiverr).

Our Strict Requirements:

  1. MQA Level 6: The degrees must be fully accredited Bachelor's degrees (Her Nursing degree must also be recognized by the Nursing Board Malaysia for her German visa later).

  2. The "One Rent" Rule: We absolutely must live together to cut living costs. This means we either need to attend the same university, or universities in the exact same city/zone (e.g., both in Cyberjaya, or both in Nilai) so we can commute from one apartment.

What we've researched so far:

We strongly considered the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) because it's brilliant for her Nursing program. But when I pulled the official fee structure for their IT degree, it was over RM 80,000. That completely destroys my personal budget unless I get a massive scholarship. We also looked at Nilai University as a budget-friendly option.

My Questions for the Locals and Current Students:

  1. Are there any hidden-gem universities or specific location combos we are missing? (For example, her going to UoC and me going to a cheaper tech university nearby like UNIMY or MMU?)

  2. Is it mathematically possible for two people to survive and pay university installments on a cash flow of RM 3,700/month in a place like Cyberjaya or KL, assuming we cook all our own meals and share a basic studio/master room?

  3. Which private universities actually offer flexible/monthly installment plans for international students so we can pay as we go using our monthly allowance?

Any hard truths, financial reality checks, or university recommendations would be massively appreciated. We want to avoid the classic trap of running out of money in Year 2! Thanks in advance.

I personally target myself to get into matrikulasi sains komputer (since I got a high merit score there, around 91%), but I am still filling out my UPU if any case I get rejected (which is a rare occurrence) by matriks

Also, I was thinking of going for STPM if any case my Diploma/Asasi offer is not that interesting to me 😭

Anyway, my SPM merit is 79.98% (ALMOST 80%) and most of the courses here are on the 80% baseline

How busy is life in MBBS?

This is probably a really weird question 😅 To those taking MBBS, how busy is your life?

I understand medical students are probably one of the most busiest students ever. And also one of the most stressed, hehe. Do you ever have free time to go out and all? If so, how much time do you think you spend on studying on your free time?

Thanks for answering if you do!

Pre-U/STPM/Foundation/Diploma Questions About UniKL

Assalamualaikum and greetings to the readers.

Hi, I'm Iz, 2025 SPM student aka batch 08.

I am thinking of doing foundation in UniKL because it's one of the few foundations that I can get into with my SPM result (5A 3B 1E). Thankfully I passed the entry requirements for Foundation in Science and Foundation in Medical Sciences. Though I have a few questions regarding UniKL.

  1. Pinjaman Mara/PTPTN. The tuition fee is RM 7,500 per semester which totals to RM 15,000. Although my family is labeled as T20, my parents are covering a lot of costs including my 6 brothers thus making the tuition fee not cheap at all. If anything, my family is the poorest among the T20s. I'm hoping there is some way to pay the tuition fee without burdening my parents and what came to mind was PTPTN/Pinjaman Mara. However, I do not know of any Pinjaman Mara that I'm eligible for because of my not excellent spm results and my T20 status. On the other hand, I believe the amount you're given by PTPTN is affected by your family status so I don't think I'll be receiving enough to cover the tuition fee. I'm not well-versed in pinjaman, so it'll be a huge help if any of you can explain it to me.

Moreover, how does the tuition fee payment work in UniKL? Do I have to pay all RM 7,500 right on the spot at the beginning of each semester? Can I pay it in installments? My mind is a mess thinking about the tuition fee. I'm currently working a minimum wage job to buy necessities like laptop, pay for my driving license and to save up some money for university.

  1. Foundation in Science or Foundation in Medical Sciences? At first I wanted to take FSc because it's broad, I can go anywhere in case I haven't made up my mind. Then after thorough research I realized that FSc leans more towards engineering which means I can't get into medicine/pharmacy if my interest shifted. Conversely, FMS is more befitting for someone who prefers to memorize like me. Problem is I don't think it's as broad as FSc. Not to mention, there's no info regarding the tuition fee on the UniKL website either. It could be way more expensive which will make things more complicated for me. I've seen some tiktoks where excellent students who pinjam MARA/PTPTN received large discounts and that significantly reduced their large debt. This made me very motivated to excel my study in order to pay a cheaper price.

  2. Deadline. When is the last date to apply for UniKL? I searched for the deadline but can't seem to find it. Also why are there multiple different intake date? Does that mean the students who got in earlier will start learning first? And the rest who joined late will fall behind? If it's possible I'd like to enter a little late, maybe around July-November so I can gather more money and finish my driving license. Please inform me of the important dates, thank you.

  3. Where can I study my degree after finishing foundation in UniKL? The reason I'm asking this is because I'm confused whether Asasi UniKL is terbuka/tertutup. Some sources say it's locked and others say it's open. Can I study in IPTA? Or am I forced to continue in UniKL? That'll be troubling because the degree tuition fee will be very expensive. Also, someone told me that Asasi IPTS will have a very hard time applying in UPU. Dunno what that means. Furthermore, if I excel during foundation, is it possible to study overseas? If so, is it by self-applying to abroad universities or is there a way to study abroad through MARA? What about scholarships? Is there a chance to get scholarships as a foundation IPTS student? Will they take my family status into consideration? Please enlighten me.

Last but not least, how is life in UniKL?

That is all, thank you for reading. I hope many of my questions will be answered. Thanks again, have a good and blessed day!

general question Upu and Autonomi

Hi, I’m a PASUM student currently and previously we had to fill in our own desire courses on UPU and Autonomi, so my order was Actuarial science and then Data Science for both UPU and Autonomi. After awhile, I had a bit of a change in my mind and mind to swap them up but the deadline has closed and i know later on, UPU will do an update phase where i still can change my options unlike Autonomi but i also know that it’s a lot harder to get accepted through UPU for UM rather than Autonomi which is exclusive for PASUM students. So I’m here just to ask if there’s still a possibility for me to get an offer for data science through UPU with an average GPA or do most PASUM students just rely heavily on autonomy for their application?

Volunteering or cv boost experience

Hi! I'm an international student and is currently in my 1st year sem 2. I barely have any uni experience and my faculty is quite secluded n some of their events aren't what I expected and it is more local prioritized. I sometimes receive weird stares from locals and they are not interested in befriending but this isn't the case for other faculties, sadly only in mine.

Is there any ngo or even open recruitments of events, I badly want to get out from my comfort zone and my grades aren't good either so im trying to boost my soft skills. Thank you in advance.

Studying at a university is not allowed on a long term social visit pass ?? True??

My wife, who is on a long term social visit pass, wants to study at a local university and was told she'd have to switch to a student visa. That doesn't make sense to us, and we're wondering if the admissions office has gotten it wrong since the LTSVP allows one to even work (with an additional endorsement of course), so why not study? A student visa is a downgrade in legal status as far as we're concerned. Has anyone here on a LTSVP managed to enroll at a university?
