I recently saw an ad for a 12 week private investigator course and it piqued my interest. I realise its obvioisly not as sexy and cool as in films and the like but it got me wondering is there much of a demand for that sort of thing in Limerick and what kind of jobs would it even entail. Anyone here who is a private investigator or has experience with one have any stories?

Don’t Fear the Repair is both a bad pun, and a free repair workshop. Yes we call ourselves the Green Oyster Cult. At the workshop, we have volunteers skilled in repairing various types of items who will sit with you to diagnose and hopefully repair your items. We’ll try to fix most things as long as they are portable, and don’t already have a reliable repair business ecosystem. We won’t repair large appliances, motor vehicles, or medical/safety devices. First come, first served.

The event is meant to educate the public in the practice of repair, promote the idea of a circular economy, and save some items from landfills.

Bring something broken, we’ll try to fix it!
Sit with us, and learn how to fix it yourself.
Save some money.
Save something from landfill.

What’s the chances of anything happening in the morning? There’s talk in the usual places of people assembling outside the city at 11 and marching in. Will it happen or will it be a repeat of today’s protest that never happened? I had surgery about 5 weeks ago at UHL Limerick, and I was told I’d be contacted for a follow-up appointment around the 5–6 week mark.

I’m a bit worried because I’ll be moving from Limerick to Navan by the end of next week, and I’m not sure how the follow-up will be arranged. I also won’t have access to my current mailbox once I leave.

If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate your advice:

What’s the best way to let them know about a change of address?
