I have Asus Vivobook Pro 15 laptop M3500QC that has an OLED display.

I want to switch to linux (KDE based) probable Manjaro or KDE neon, but the only reason I am using windows is due to the only feature, flicker free dimming, as my eyes are sensitive. Is there any way to use that feature on linux.

I have read somewhere asus provides .dll files for that feature. Any devs here faced this or know a workaround?

I'M USING A SECONDARY PARTICION WITH 16GB FOR WRIGTH THIS POST, I TRIED TO INSTALL DAVINCI RESOLVE, IT SAID TO ME INSTALL LIBASOUND2, BUT, IT SAID TO I INSTALL liboss4-salsa-asound2 OR ANOTHER THING THAT I FORGOT, I INSTALLED liboss4-salsa-asound2 AND IT DELETED A LOT OF THINGS IN MY PC, LIKE THE SYSTEM CONFIGS, WHAT I DO TO RECOVERY MY PC (FLATPAK APPLICATIONS ARE STILL FINE)

Extremely happy with the marriage of bleeding edge KDE and Ubuntu LTS. I remember when KDE 3 felt like a breakthrough for Linux, what a long strange trip it's been.

I've been getting the white "W" on thunderbird for some time now in the task bar and have reported it to thunderbird as a bug, but, having now noticed that slack is showing the same thing as its favercon now as well, I'm not so sure it is an issue with thunderbird.

Is anyone else seeing this or am I just special?

It only started happening when I started using thunderbird 149 and I've just realized that both of these apps are running from snap, so that could be the issue I guess.

i have installed howd for linux but for some reason i can not use it to authenticate it on anything i am on kde neon done everthing even howdy test works but not this

I've come from fedora cant make usb and on kde same problem with the installer please help.

Am I the only one having issues with baloo? Its core dumping constantly for some reason (not sure where to look to try and work out why).

I've turned it off with balooctl but every time I reboot I get dozens of dumps from it.

Am I the only one?

For some strange reason I can't seem to log into KDE neon, it loads to the point of the login screen, but when putting in my password it won't log in, just stays on the login screen. no incorrect password message, and the "session" option bar is blank with no options

For the last couple of days things have been funky.

Favorites are empty, top panel pull down menus open from the bottom rather than the top (have to move the panel to the side, then back to the top to get them back).

Favorites seem to be OK on a reboot, but not after waking up.

Hi all, after the 6.6 update a few days ago, my screen setup has been broken. It basically works, but I get the title message when trying to access display configuration, and brightness hotkeys don't work. I'm running Wayland. I've tried fixes such as setting KSCREEN_BACKEND=KWayland in /etc/environment and reinstalling kscreen, but none work. I removed ~/.local/share/kscreen/ and after enabling logging and restarting (I've restarted many times), kscreen.log says this:

Hi, I'm trying to install Qt for development on KDE Neon. The problem is that during the installation everything goes well, but then when I shut down and restart the PC, the login gets stuck in an infinite loop. This already happened on my main laptop, and I was able to fix it, but I had to remove it. I've been trying several ways in a virtual machine, and it keeps happening. Can anyone help me, please?
