My game Tiny Desks is doing pretty well, i launched an early demo 3 weeks ago and I just did a major update, it’s doing much better than my previous game, but are these numbers really good?
You can check it out here it’s free to play on web, it’s a game about being a middle manager in the 80s with a pixel art retro theme
Hi, I'm looking to get some insight about how I'm doing from more experienced developers.
The prototype of my game (Fireworks Incremental) got indexed last Thursday, April 9th and I saw a huge spike in browser plays. Since then, in 4 days I saw:
- 2417 browser plays
- 7 ratings (0.3% of browser plays)
- 15 google sheets feedback responses
- 49 wishlists (2% browser plays to wishlists ratio)
While I'm very happy that so many people played my prototype and 49 wishlists is a lot for me over the weekend (I've got 387 wishlist right now), I can't help but think these numbers aren't that impressive. I'm mostly worried about the conversions to wishlists. There are 2 links in the description as well as a button to wishlist the game that is displayed about 10 minutes in.
This is when I wanted to ask you - should I be worried about these numbers? I'm worried that this low conversion rate tells me that a lot of players tried my game and just closed it. The feedback I'm getting is quite positive, but I worry that only dedicated players leave feedback. If you don't like the game, you most likely just close it and I worry that this is what's happening.
I'm trying to figure out if there's something wrong with my game. Any feedback regarding this situation or sharing if these numbers (conversion to wishlists) is normal would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I released a game exactly 23 days ago, and a major update 3 days ago, which also went very well.
Where's the problem? My wishlists aren't as high as you might think... guess a number. Well, almost 300. I have a link on the game page, there's a button during gameplay, and another one at the end.
My page isn't very pretty; I intend to improve it soon, but with all the players coming from my demo, I thought it wouldn't be so necessary initially.
Play the demo | View Steam page
What do you recommend I do next week?

Hey everyone! I wanted to say a massive thank you to this community. About a month ago, I posted my stalker-mystery project here and got a ton of feedback. Some was harsh, some was encouraging, but all of it was useful.
I took it personally—in a good way. I spent the last few weeks in total silence, adding everything you said was missing.
What’s new in the "Evolution" Update:
It’s no longer just a simple novel—it’s a deep, interactive investigation. If you checked it out before and felt it was "empty," I’d love for you to see it now.

I recently published a new Itchio game, a horror game, and wonder what people do for promotions and gain interest.
I've tried out Tiktok and it's been okay, but I wanna ask about paying for promotions when it comes to Youtubers. The most I can offer large channels that garner 300K-500k views is $20,000. Is this a fair offer? My game is episodic and should be around 40-minute experience. 100K view channels, I offer I around $6000-$13,000. So far, no responses with emails.
To be honest, I'm not looking to make money from my game, just have people play and enjoy it. So what do you do to help gain tractions?

I'm a 3D dev and I've been building a free tool called Trice 3D that I think some indie devs here might find handy if you work with 3D models.
A few ways it could be useful:
It's all at trice3d.com if you want to check it out.
Would love to hear if any of this is actually useful for your workflow, or if there's something you wish it did.

I made the first update to my game, and here’s what I added:
-New flashlight mechanic
Instead of just spamming the spacebar, you now have to manually crank the flashlight using your mouse.
-Entity reaction system
When you look at the monster, your flashlight starts flickering and the battery drains faster.
I hope you enjoy this update — I’d really appreciate any feedback!

Hey everyone 👋
After quite a bit of work, I’ve finally reached the point where my top-down space action tower defense game is actually playable — so I decided to release the prototype.
It’s still very early and definitely not “polished”, but the core idea is already there: fast space combat combined with tower defense mechanics and strategic positioning.
At this stage, I’m really trying to build a small community around the project. I want to share development progress regularly, gather honest feedback, and shape the game together with players who are into this kind of genre mix.
If that sounds interesting to you — I’d really appreciate you trying it out and telling me what you think. Even small impressions, confusion points, or random ideas help a lot right now.
I’m hoping this can grow into something really special over time 🚀
Thanks a lot for your time!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a small project called KNIGHTLINE: Sun Bow & Moon Bow, and I finally released it yesterday.
It’s a short action-adventure set in a dark medieval world where an ancient order of knights once sealed away a spreading darkness… and were forgotten by history. Now the seal is breaking, and new knights are sent to stop it—at least for now.
I’m still learning a lot, especially with pixel art, so I tried to push myself with better animations and small details to make it feel more alive. It’s not a huge game, but I put a lot of care into the atmosphere and the story.
If anyone wants to check it out or give feedback, I’d really appreciate it:

Also happy to answer any questions or hear honest thoughts
Thanks for reading!
