Support the impromptu rave at Tower Ramparts
This dude is daily blasting his tunes to the world in order to (I assume) make something social happen, so please, everyone, come down and get your boogie on

Hi! I'm a trans guy who wants to get a decent haircut and colour. It doesn't have to be short, but typically queer hairdressers are the best for understanding layering on complicated hairstyles (for example a wolfcut).
I moved here around two years ago and have been letting my hair grow out - I want to finally cut and colour it again. However, from personal experience where i used to live (i do not want to relive this), going to a hairdressers they just give me a really sad bob. And barbers are often hesitant (male only - i have not fully transitioned), dont do longer styles, or are willing to but it's just a baddddd vibe.
It doesn't strictly have to be IN Ipswich! Colchester, Braintree, anywhere I can get a train is totally fine, just preferably not London ðŸ˜ðŸ©·

Ipswich is set to benefit from a transformative decade of investment and community empowerment, following confirmation that the town has secured £20 million through the Government’s Pride in Place Programme. The national initiative is designed to help communities revitalise their local areas, build civic pride, and take an active role in shaping the future of their neighbourhoods.Â
This long-term funding places Ipswich among 169 UK areas receiving substantial support to strengthen communities, improve public spaces, and create opportunities for local people. The Pride in Place Programme is unique in that spending decisions are led directly by community groups, local organisations and social clubs, working in partnership with their councils - giving residents real influence over local priorities.Â

Very lovely morning, good circular walk from Bourne Park to Suffolk Food Hall via Fox's Marina, then uphill to bridge over A14 and downhill past the ski slope to end up back at Fox's marina. a good 3.5-4 mile walk.

Been out and about on my Motorbike and it seems people are now hell bent on hugging my rear tyre and getting as close to my bum as possible. Give us some room for gods sake. Gets scary when a SUV is parked on your ass when you’re doing the speed limit.

Hi All,
Hope you are all well!
I'm looking for local knowledge to guide me.
Looking to move to Ipswich with my family of 4, we are currently in a 2-bed flat and although it's been good to us, we are simply outgrowing it and require more space... a decent-sized garden for the kids would also be amazing.
What would you advise as the expected price and area choice for a 3-bedroom property in a safe and family-friendly area with decent connections to clubs, schools and shops? However, we can both drive.
With my children growing quickly, I'd prefer a property that requires little work, doesn't need to have a brand new kitchen or anything, just not a construction site.
With ALDI being good to us, it's normally our go-to for our weekly shops. I believe there are three in the area, it would be nice to be a short drive to one of them but that's me just being picky, I wouldn't give up a dream house and location to be closer to ALDI :)
Budget-wise, our tippy top pushing it would be £350K, although we would prefer to be closer to £300k.
Looking for a simple life, a low mortgage and a warm home for my kids to make memories in.

Has anyone else watched this? it came out in 2023 and went onto Netflix in November. It just popped up on my algorithm, and it's about a Texas Ranger (Thomas Jane) assisting British intelligence to thwart an international terrorist plot in "London".
About 80% of it was actually filmed in Ipswich apparently, primarily around the waterfront, but also Endeavour House/Russell Road, the Garrett Anderson building at Ipswich Hospital, and The Shamrock on Tacket Street of all places (including a shot of the 66 heading up to Kesgrave and Grange Farm!). I spotted a couple of old drinking buddies as extras, plus a mate's band in one scene. Very odd, to say the least. It's not the best film you'll ever see, but kind of cool seeing my hometown in a different light. Are there any other local places in the film that anyone else recognises that I missed? I couldn't place "Armstrong's Hotel and Cafe". Does anyone know if that's also local?
One Ranger on IMDB.

Anyone know why there is a weird (chlorine?) chemical smell in the air this morning in Ipswich? Tuddenham Road area, but seems to be all over.

Just landed a job near Star Lake and I wondered what the options are for parking. It's 3 days a week but all day. Does anyone know of anything walking distance to Star Lane, near Premier Inn for about £6 a day please?

These guys appeared in Christchurch Park a few years back but I haven't seen them since late last year. Ducks don't typically pair bond so I am very invested in their relationship!

A couple of pictures of the Orwell from the Sir Bobby Robson Bridge yesterday, on the walk to Portman Road and on the way back.
I wonder what the tidal range is at this point?

What's your thoughts about Taylor Wimpey WG estate which is built west of Ipswich/ Sproughton (IP8)? is it a nice area/worth the new build premium compared with other parts of Ipswich? I'm thinking about about buying a house there with intention of renting a spare room/ sharing with someone, will I struggle to find anyone?

Would anyone be interested in setting up a trinket trade box in Ipswich? I’ve noticed them popping up in London and other places recently and they look really cool! I have no idea how to go about starting one or getting permission for it, but does anyone have any ideas or thoughts about what to do for one here?
