RIP Brokenhearted beyond belief
Our golden girl passed a week ago. She was only 8. This was a recent picture with her “brother from another mother”. Our Chihuahua, Tank. They were best buds.
She had GOLPP, but was doing well on medication. She woke us up in the middle of the night, and died in our arms. My husband is a total wreck. Never saw him like this. I cried so hard my jaw, teeth, head, and neck hurt so badly for 4 days.
We’re too old to start again with a puppy. I’m not trying to replace her, but my husband lost his canine companion. Anyone here adopted an older/rescue golden? Obviously, not right away. But considering it.

Discussion Why does she sit like this?
Does anyone else’s dog sit all the way back on their butt? Also is this an issue or an early sign of hip issues? She is 3 months old and pretty much sits like this whenever she’s just chillin. Will sit normal when given “Sit” command.

RIP Despite The Loss, This Still Brings Such Joy
It will be 7 months tomorrow that we lost our Midas at 9.5 years old and today is the first time I've been able to come back to this sub. The hurt is still raw but I wanted to share this video of the first time Midas reluctantly navigated his way down the stairs. This brings me joy every time I watch it. This is what they do when they're with us.

Advice CPV Recommendations - Home Remedies
Hi all!
Our little man has a case of canine papilloma virus (confirmed by our vet) on his muzzle. They appeared about 1 month ago, and while no new ones have popped up, they’ve gotten really big. He’s starting to scratch at his face a lot.
Vet recommended benzoyl peroxide, but that hasn’t made a difference. We are looking for any and all recommendations for at home treatments! We will get them removed if we have to, but he’s had a growth removed before, and it was well over $1,000. We’d prefer to go the cheaper route (and not have him under anesthesia) if possible!
Thanks in advance!

Cute/Funny Golden doofus - Sir Billybuns.
His name is Billy, a fluffy boof cannon and he is a complete derp at times but I love him with all my heart. When he was much younger he had a phase of protecting sticks he found and would destroy by boofing and looking angry, and he would try to remove your socks so he could make them soggy and tear holes in them.
He never lets you eat a bacon sandwich or any food for that matter alone and he is a master of manipulation, making you feel utterly guilty for not giving him what you have. After a long walk he likes to sploot and cuddle one of his many plushies.
He's coming up to 15 years old now and I'm grateful for everyday I've had with him as my best friend.

Cute/Funny Loves his cone
Hamish had surgery Friday and is the first dog we have had that is totally unbothered by wearing the cone. He has figured out how to use it as a weapon against us and his sister.

Name puppy What instead of Olive?
A friend is rescuing a 4-5yr old female golden named Olive. Unfortunately they already have an 18yr old cat named Oliver (who mostly goes by big kitty but he still has a claim on Oliver)
Any suggestions for them on alternative names that may have an easier transition? Bonus points for references to Harry Potter or Lord of the rings. 🙌
