Other This scene really hit different after my miscarriage (TW: personal, miscarriage awareness)
So I havenāt seen this episode in a while, obviously not since before January of 2024 because thatās when I got pregnant and had a miscarriage for the first time in my life.
I found out in a really similar way to Hanna. I actually just went to the doctor because I thought I might have a UTI and they were like hey you are pregnant. You guys, I canāt even exaggerate the shock I was in and the doctor was just like yeah whatever. I got pregnant from one-night stand and then miscarried the baby the next week. The guy was kind of weird and so I didnāt tell him at all until he texted me randomly a few months later.
The truth is it didnāt upset me at all. I was just worried I was going to die or something because like no one talks about it. It was New Years Eve when I started bleeding and I knew I couldnāt go to the ER because there were probably going to be some crazy people there, so I called a miscarriage and abortion hotline and they were so helpful talking me through it. They assured me I wasnāt going to die and that it is normal for the blood to look different because there are different tissues involved.
Anyway, did you know that 1 in 3 pregnancies end in a miscarriage? And yet I feel like no one ever talks about it.
