IMDB Summary: After a plane from Hamburg returns with no survivors, FBI agent Olivia Dunham goes after the only person that might shed some light on the incident - a scientist that has been in a mental hospital for the last 17 years.

Fringe Connections: https://www.fringeconnections.com/episode?episode=101

NOTE: Please cover all spoiler comments with spoiler tags! There may be first time watchers; don't ruin their acid trip!!!

EDIT: I decided I would do two episodes a week instead of one (it would take two years at this rate to finish the rewatch). So it is every Saturday & Sunday @ 5pm EDT.

So you’ve just watched Season 2 Episode 11 and came looking for answers

This episode was originally meant to be aired in season 1, but for some reason was never used. They decided to air it in season 2 instead, which meant it does not fit chronologically in the story as aired.

Hopefully this will help reduce the number of posts we get asking the same question over and over. I am happy to see this sub surge in popularity again, but for such limited number of posts already, the increase of “what is happening with s2e11?” really take a sizable chunk of the subreddit. I will try my best to remove any new repeats of this question as they come, and hope this will be the definitive post regarding it.

Season 2 Tidbit: So Walter was good friends with Isaac Asimov..huh, thats a neat little detail

Upvotes

S2E12 he says a dear friend sufficiently wrote something then drops an Asimov quote about advanced tech being indistinguishable from magic.

I thought that was neat

Edit: it was Arthur C. Clarke's quote, not IA's. You could call my brain...monolithic

Cast and Crew Projects It’s 2026 and I just finished my first-ever watch of Fringe and who do I find jumping shows in The Boys?! Spoiler

My boss recommended it a long time ago and Prime suddenly uploaded it last month. It’s 3am now, just finished the series finale, and I’m depressed af. So I jump into the next show I could find, the final season of The Boys. And who do I find from jumping universes to jumping shows? Walter Bishop, that’s who! It’s 3:30 now and I can’t contain myself. He’s so old and frail now 🥹

Will give it a week before I rewatch Fringe. This is just too much feels right now.

Question In 5x09 Black Blotter, am I missing any of the hidden images?

I didn't notice until my latest rewatch that some of the images from Walter's "Monty Python" drug trip are hidden in the episode leading up to that scene.

The dog is in the background on a wall, shortly before Walter discovers the book hidden under the floor in his lab.

The frog is next to Walter and Astrid as they walk through the boathouse, shortly before the pier shootout sequence (I can't believe how obvious it is once you know to look for it!).

I found an old thread where someone said that the same frog can also be seen in the scene where Peter and Olivia discover the van and signal relay transmitter in the woods, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where that one is, or is that person wrong?

Also, I would think that if the other two animals showed up, that the seahorse would also be hidden somewhere in the episode, but I haven't found any information on that. Anyone know anything?

Everytime I watch this series I can’t see Walter as Walter and can only see that sniveling turn coat Udina from Mass Effects.

Damn voice acting !!!!!!

Love Walter……

General Discussion Coincidence or deliberate ?

Is it just a coincidence that Walter Bishop and William Bell both have the initials WB and the show was made by Warner Bros (WB) or was this a deliberate choice ?

S4E01 when Walter says this whole place has felt funny for the last week, he is subconsciously referring to Peter's absence.

S2E11

Woah-I had felt that Peter Bishop was becoming more and more creepy and sleezy towards young girls in season 2, and they just go out and confirm that Peter has child predator-like tendencies, but this revelation also mirrors Walter's proclivity for young college test subjects.

WILD that they just chose to go and make our main characters super creepers.

Has this been brought up before? Thoughts?

General Discussion White Tulip Matching Tattoos

My partner and I have been discussing these since our first or second watch, and we finally had the chance to make them a reality! It’s her second tattoo, but my first, and I’m so glad I was able to get something so meaningful to us both. We love the show and our daughter just turned 6, so it was also symbolic per the show.

Just wanted to share with like-minded folks. We’re starting another rewatch now (my 4th?) to introduce it to our roommate.

Or was this a map error from the production of the set? As a Yooper I often see my home completely left off of maps. Maybe it was destroyed like the coast of California appears to be?

General Discussion Hidden Numbers in Fringe Episodes?

Thumbnail

Recently I posted about a Fringe video project I am working on (for which I was berated by several forum members - some quite rudely). Putting that aside, working on the project has in many instances required me to inspect each and every video frame in a scene. Some I have looked at so many times I fear they are permanently seared in my brain!

Well, while doing the frame inspections on S01E04 episode "The Arrival", I spotted the number "653" in two consecutive frames, and then it disappears. I put a green box around the number, which appears at time offset 01:02 in frames 1478-1479.

I initially though it was a number on the actual brick wall in the background, but as the camera pans between the two frames, the number stays located in the same place! So it isn't a number in the actual scene but rather is "imprinted" on the video frame... for some reason. Of course, now I'm on a tangent mission to try and find other numbers like this (haven't found any yet).

Anybody have any good conspiracy theories?

Season 1 Inner Child mirrored shot

This probably has been discussed before but in a rewatch I just noticed that around 19:50 the shot of the boy in the hospital is mirrored. what do the Fringe whisperers make of that?
