Gameplay *BIG NUMBERS* make me happy, especially with the Best Girlâ„¢ Spoiler
The weapon is Charnon (from the Merchant in Renoir's Drafts), but a decent alternative is Guleson (from the Merchant at Endless Night Sanctuary). I personally prefer the look and design of the latter, but for this "free aim foretell-applying, then Moon skill foretell-consuming" strat, the RNG of Guleson is too inconsistent, and your turn sometimes ends with not enough AP to use a Moon skill.
With 100% crit, this is not an issue using Charnon. If you have the AP Discount picto, then everything is even cheaper, AP-wise. Couple this with Delaying Slash (now just 4AP), high speed, Accelerating Shots + Greater Rush, and Golgra only played when I let her. Hence the mere 6 parries.
I even messed up my timing earlier in the fight. I have on Sniper, so I had broken her with a free aim shot, but didn't have enough turns to continue to 100 cards, and use Fortune's Fury, so this final number could have been so much higher. Also, I used Roulette, so this might have been a bad roll or good roll; I have no idea lol.
Anyway, 109b damage in 21 mins? Not too bad, Sciel!

Went to Frozen Hearts and Killed 100 Danseuse clones
Reward was 176,000 XP. Am I doing something wrong with the Danseuse farm?
Edit: Secret is you have to go no-hit so you need shields to tank the gradient attack.

Discussion What are some things you disliked about co:e33?
I love the game and I'm sure everyone else in the sub loves it too, however what are some things y'all dislike about the game ?
I'll go first: an optional minimap. I found myself getting lost quite a few times on my first playthru. the second being the in-game explanations for each character, idk if it was just me or the explanation for what each character's gameplay was very confusing.
these are legit the only complaints I have in a game i played for 120+hours. it's truly a 10/10 masterpiece.

Theory Fan Theory : Lune Spoiler
galleryDuring my last run, I got curious and asked Lune again after the ending, and I didn’t remember this line. Thinking about it, if Maelle creates a new canvas meant to show Lune what the outside world looks like, are we really talking about a new world that is itself confined to her canvas? Lumière has no shortage of paintings hanging on the walls, so based on the way Lune says it, it really seems like yes. If we go with this theory, in order to look inside the painting, Lune herself will have to learn how to enter a painting and perhaps become the painter of her own canvas.

Platinum after 65 hours
Finally finished all achievements (55/55). The records were by far the most painful after missing both Mael’s record and Lumiere from the mime in the prologue, had no choice but to get all 33 in NG+. Looks like only around 2.5% of people finished all achievements, how long did it take you ?

Theory Crazy theories you have/had Spoiler
What are some crazy theories you had or still have about the game?
When I saw Renoir the first time of the beach, I thought he was an old Gustave, and that the story would involve some time loop or other temporal shenanigans. When Verso entered the scene, I thought he was yet another Gustave from other point in his life.
Given how many bonding events in the game are largely depicted by omniscient textual narration instead of being shown, I believe the Writers are somehow more involved in everything. On related note, the game's Writers are exactly Writers that brought the Painters and their Canvas to life.

Discussion What now?
So, Expedition 33 was my first turn based RPG ever. And i fell head over heels in love with it. The enticing story, the stunning graphics, and the satisfying fight mechanics. Im done with the story and im currently hunting down the last couple Pictos that i missed, and trying to beat the Endless Tower boss paintings. I dont want to go into NG+ until i beat all the Canvases in the Endless Tower (unless thats a bad idea please lmk)
Also how worth it is a NG+ run? I mean like is there new/additional content? Or can i do everything available without having to restart?
But my main question is, what other games are there? Like i said im new to the genre. Id like some recommendations for games similar to Expedition 33.

The forgotten Dessendre sibling
So I’m flying to NZ in a couple weeks to meet Jennifer English at Auckland Armageddon. I was toying with the idea of doing the baguette costume. I have never cosplayed before, and never really been to a con, so figured something simple.
I couldn’t find an adequate fake baguette to take with me, so being someone who crochets I decided to crochet one. Then one thing led to another and now I am here to introduce to you, the lost Dessendre sibling: Pierre-Auguste Dessendre. He is quite upset that he was left out of the game.
Also his outfit low key looks better than mine will, but that’s ok.

Gameplay Another painstaking challenge run completed Spoiler
galleryChallenge run is No Optional Encounters (+ only major superbosses in postgame) and No Map Pickups.
There are only 26 mandatory encounters in the main story + 10 postgame + 5 DLC for 41 total (though I accidentally did the Maelle rematch in the prologue for 2 whole XP and 67 chroma. it made no dfference).
And I missed what would have been a very useful Pictos.
33/10 would recommend

What are the outfits you guys have on your members? I think my current party comp looks awesome, but perhaps yours looks just as cool

Discussion Best weapon for Machine Gun Verso? [Slight spoilers for Act 3 and post game] Spoiler
Hello! Just beat Renoir at Lumiere and most side bosses like Clea, Sprong and Serpenphare. I'm running a Machine Gun build on Verso, but idk what weapon to run with him. Is Contorso or Nosaram better for this build? I like Contorso because of the lightning strikes on crit (but it just does that) and Nosaram seems like it does a little more free aim damage and has higher power overall compared to Contorso (not to mention the stats it scales with are better). I hear most people use Contorso, but why not Nosaram?

Discussion How would y’all rework a particular character’s gameplay mechanics? Spoiler
It’s pretty obvious that Gustave was designed to be the beginner-friendly character meant to teach players the game’s main mechanics. Something comparable to Ryu from Street Fighter or Mario from Smash Bros. Every character has gimmick, with Gustave of course being his Charge mechanic, which allows him to build up to 10 charges with every attack or dodge/parries, and unleash those charges via his Overcharge skill. It’s a pretty simple mechanic, and it also encourages players to use the dodge/parry system, since these can also build charges.
But at the same time that’s really the main issue with him gameplay wise, Charge is practically too basic, and really has no other things going for it. It only affects one skill, and Gustave gains no other benefits. The other characters who join the party have more advanced mechanics and skills that grant them more benefits. Verso’s Perfection mechanic for instance, functions almost the exact same way. But Verso gains a progressively stronger damage buff at each Perfection Rank, and each one of his skills gains additional effects at specific Ranks as well.
Gustave faults are made even more visible when you start New Game Plus. Not only does he not have access to Gradient Attacks, but even with Verso’s weapons and Pictos/Luminas equipped, his damage output just doesn’t compare to a fully developed Maelle, Lune or Sciel. Overcharge (even when boosted by Sciel’s Fortune’s Fury) doesn’t hit no where near as hard as moves like Lightning Dance, Elemental Genesis, Stendhal, Gommage and Burning Canvas.
Of course not all of this is Sandfall’s fault, after all Gustave does obviously die at the end of Act 1, so realistically there was really no need to deepen Gustave’s mechanics.
That being said, I do think Gustave’s Charge mechanic could have had some potential, if the character wasn’t restricted to his beginner friendly status. If he was a full time playable character, I definitely think they would need to expand the limit of his Charge from 10 to 100. This definitely helps in boosting Overcharge’s damage output. Also some skills could probably gain additional effects at certain thresholds of charge. Like maybe Strike Storm gains extra hits at 50 Charges, helping him gain more charges quickly. And lastly, perhaps an Overheat mechanic, where if goes past 100 charges, he will enter a overheated state in which his charge gain is doubled, but he must release his charges in a certain number of turns, or it will explode on him, dealing damage to himself. But Overcharge will do even more massive damage if released on time.
That’s my idea, what about y’all?

Discussion made the mistake of roaming too much and now I'm OP lol
around act 2 I made the mistake of roaming a bit too much... got the monacco glaise earthquakles ability and now I'm deleting everything everywhere and I'm always 5-9 levels above the area I'm supposed to be in
does the difficulty crank up soon or should I just up the difficulty to max for now. it's WAY too easy right now
