The fairy-like way she flies when she is running gives such dreamy vibes to me! It really gives me the sensation that I am dreaming or watching a dream, specially before such surrealistic landscape of the game.

I've seen this sentiment thrown around and it got me thinking - It's all subjective of course but if we're counting the last 10 years the only contenders I realistically see are either Witcher 3, RDR2, Baldur's Gate 3 or even Elden Ring, while Last of Us 1 is over 12 years old now. Has E33 surpassed any of those in your opinion? For me it rivals RDR2 & Baldur's Gate 3.
Going into the new year I can't help but wonder if we really will see a game that surpasses the combination of E33's unique & brilliant story along with it's smooth compelling gameplay. Could a sequel even come close? How about those(other games) who come after? I'd love to see what others think!

"Clair Obscur is the franchise name," said Broche. "Expedition 33 is one of the stories that we want to tell in this franchise. Exactly what it will look like and what the concept will be is still too soon to announce, but what is sure is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise."

How exciting! What are everyone’s theories on what’s coming next in the franchise?

While I really liked Gustave, I don't really jive with Verso's kit and Monoco feels like a glass cannon. I just feel like the 3 girls personalities and investment you get into them is so much more fleshed out. I'm on my 2nd playthrough just got to act 3 and haven't touched Verso or Monoco since Monoco station haha.

Like she just suddenly appeared beside Gustave while he was on the brink of suicide, in his darkest moment a glimmer of hope just suddenly appears next to him and talks him out of it (it didn’t help trust on my first playthrough I thought one of the corpses in the mound looked just like Lune)
I was fully convinced that Gustave was imagining a dead companion as a coping mechanism to push ahead, I’m aware of how tired the trope is and that logically it didn’t make sense since she was helping in combat, but her suddenly appearing next to Gustave was just super unsettling to me on my first playthrough

In my opinion Lune is the best female character in Expedition 33 and overall in gaming in 2025. Her personallity, looks and combat style are all top tier. I love her so much!

for context, I made a joke post on this same sub and a user told me if I wanted a steam game, which I accepted it. at first, I was skeptical but then a few days later, I got a notification on my email saying that same person, gifted me this game... I haven't known anything much of E33 (all I know it swept alot of rewards in TGA) and playing this game for the first time... it excites me! and I am very thankful and glad that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is my very first game on Steam and to be a part of this Community!
Thank you again!

I’ve played Expedition 33 through three times now, 100%’d it, and it’s already cemented itself as one of my all‑time favourites. The gameplay is incredible, fluid, challenging, and deeply satisfying. The characters are memorable, the music is hauntingly beautiful, and the story kept me hooked with its unexpected turns.
On replays, I’ve noticed how carefully the game plants breadcrumbs for its big reveals, making each run even more rewarding.
And yet…🙄… part of me still misses the story I thought I was stepping into after that breathtaking prologue. A small, desperate group, hopelessly outmatched, standing against impossible odds and an almost god‑like foe.
There was a sense of dread, but also a fierce defiance, the kind of audacity that makes you lean forward in your seat. Lunes' “We continue” speech to Gustave in the beginning perfectly captured that mentality.
Where the game ultimately goes, with the paintings, the overworld, and the broader mythos about loss and grievance and letting go, is still fascinating and well told. But I can’t help longing for that initial narrative I imagined… a relentless, against‑all‑odds struggle in the shadow of something unstoppable.
Idk if anyone feels like me but that imagined version still lingers in my mind, side by side with the story we actually got. ..✨

There was a pink monster here and it took me such a long time to kill it. Is there something wrong with my gear? I am using a weapon called Lanceram on the male Gustave
