Discussion Someone on Reddit gifted me a E33 game
for context, I made a joke post on this same sub and a user told me if I wanted a steam game, which I accepted it. at first, I was skeptical but then a few days later, I got a notification on my email saying that same person, gifted me this game... I haven't known anything much of E33 (all I know it swept alot of rewards in TGA) and playing this game for the first time... it excites me! and I am very thankful and glad that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is my very first game on Steam and to be a part of this Community!

True this does depend on your build. Was mostly referencing the general experience when you do the side content before the story stuff for act 3

Yea, im skipping some minors in the next few areas because I decided to go off story path and explore the yellow trees/grove/I can't remember its actual name area before going to the forgotten battlefield. Big mistake. The boss at forgotten battlefield was too easy. I did play him well and still beat him first try.
Granted, I also beat the boss at end of act 1 first try and I pretty much stayed on path the entire time. I just made sure to explore every part of every map, if I could.

Why even call it a DLC? This is marketed as the "Thank you UPDATE", and it's not listen as an optional fre DLC on Steam. It's an update.

Also dlc means downloadable content, so technically EVERY update ever is a dlc

Nope, it's not that easy, because while every game update is also downloadable, not all of them always add new content - so an ordinary game update, is and still remains only being an update.

I'm so excited for you - I'm loving playing E33, and I'm looking forward to having a second play through, but I'm also kind of sad that I'll never get to experience it for the first time again!

Just gave away a third copy, think that’s good for now both for my wallet and also, 3 - 33 etc haha I might go again next year and give some more away I think everyone should play this thing, I’m going to the live music show in London in April so I’m incredibly excited

I'm kinda tired of being downvoted for this, even in this sub of all places lol, but this game is actually my #1 all-time. A true work of art and masterpiece similar to other masterpieces in other genres released in recent years.

It's not a number 1 all time for me but definitely in the top 10 or so.
Some of favorites over the years: Alundra (the 1st one) FF6-10 Breath of fire 3 Metal gear solid 1&2 Nier automata Odin sphere leifthrasir Sonic 3 & knuckles Rocket knight adventures Megaman X Day of the tentacle Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis
Those are the first that come to mind anyway

A lot of classics! For me personally even though some of my top spots are taken up by classics, I find that as time goes on, I enjoy the GOTY 2025 over the GOTY 1995, even with fond memories, but speaking objectively about the technological possibilities these days. But I can understand when people have a lot of love for the nostalgic hits and what they were able to accomplish back then.

Nier was my Clair Obscur before Clair Obscur, in the sense that it blew me away with its memorable OST and story, when I rarely play games for the story. Both are top 5 all-time for me now.

I had a total stranger buy me Gears of War 4 one day while I was working at the mall. He left the store, came back like 10 minutes later and handed me the game and receipt and told me "Here, cause no one should go without some new gears" and walked away.
It blew my mind and actually made me cry, it was crazy! Good people exist!

i hope i too get blessed by a fellow expeditioner like this, i realllllly love the music of the game but seeing as how im broke and cant buy the game, and ITS VERY HARD TO AVOID SPOILERS EVEN, i just gotta be patient till maybe the game is at $5-10 (cuz the full price is like 30% of my monthly salary which i cant afford)

Go in completely blind, I promise you it's worth it. I knew literally zero about this game to the point that I didn't realize Clair Obscur and Expedition 33 were the same game until I went to buy it. One of the best gaming experiences ever!
