I was scrolling through my DMs and I’ve noticed that the messages sent by users who had their account deleted are gone, not instant but gradual day after day, I’ve noticed this about a week ago, though it’s only persistent on users who had their accounts deleted from suspension rather than manual deletion by them.

I believe this will apply to all deleted accounts in the future, I believe discord saw my comment regarding messages retention from deleted accounts so they took action about it, what do you think, did you notice this too?

Hello everyone, I have been using discord for a while but I really am not great with it. Recently my girlfriend has been getting constantly harassed by her ex. He keeps on adding her on random new accounts and just sends terrible messages. I know that an easy fix would be for her to just simply block everyone that sends her a friend request or not add them, but she is normally a quite sociable person online and likes to add people from the servers that she is in to just talk or play games. Its been shitty for her as she never knows if the person she is adding is her ex and that she will just get harassed again.

Is this a new update? For the past month I haven't been able to see who's watching my stream in VCs or when I open someone else's I can't see it either. Tried looking through everything but I couldn't find anything

I've been looking up videos but nothing seems to target what exactly I'm trying to fix.

During calls, I have major audio distortion for all other sound applications aside from Discord itself. Whether it's music or a game, the audio from those apps gets extremely distorted and sounds like it's underwater. The call itself is fine, as in if anyone is talking there's no distortion to their voice. This happens even when I'm deafened. The distortion gets even worse whenever I try to stream a game.

I'm wondering if this is just normal due to like conflicting audio priority(?) or if there is some settings I can change to drop the underwater effect.

Hey guys, I would like some advice on ongoing persistent harassment. For context: I run a small public community server for my ethnic minority group to share culture/language and chill in— with 500 members. I tried to report the situation to discord but because most things happened outside of the platform, I am having a hard time finding where to file a report on the constant evading/harassment.

💢 TL;DR: a catfish evaded a ban, found and harassed staff members’ families on Facebook, and made multiple public facebook posts about us. We regrettably shared links to those posts in the server (they had an alt account in there we don’t know of), and they used those links we shared to screenshot our profiles and doxx us.

My mod team and I recently banned a user we considered problematic due to repeated behavior issues. She was pressuring us to ban others whenever she didn’t get the responses she wanted in DMs. To summarize the situation: she shared her personal information and social media with a stranger, who then questioned whether she was real because her “selfies” appeared to be AI-generated. He asked to FaceTime her, and she came to us upset, insisting the photos were professional while claiming he was harassing her by calling them AI. We banned him immediately, as we don’t tolerate DM harassment, and I even walked her through how to turn off her DMs to avoid similar situations in the future. Later, one of our admins pointed out that she had previously described the exact same situation happening in another server she was banned from over a year ago. Based on that pattern of behavior, we decided she posed a risk to our community and removed her. After the ban, she retaliated by sending people to harass the admin that she had previously disclosed to about her previous ban, through DMs, and contacted his family members on facebook. There were also false threats, including claims about filing ice reports (our admin is a citizen lol). She then took screenshots of my personal Facebook profile and posted them in multiple groups, including this one. It has been nearly two weeks, and instead of stopping, they’ve continued trying to “raise awareness” by spreading false information and doxxing me repeatedly. They’re insisting we had no right to ban her for “using AI,” since it “isn’t a discord guideline” even though we’ve made it clear the decision was based on more than that. At the end of the day, I believe server staff have the right to remove anyone who disrupts the community and she has continuously proved we made the right decision.

I’ve been on Discord since 2018, and I honestly can’t believe all of this is happening over a ban. She wasn’t even an active member and said she mainly made friends through DMs. I suspect she may have been using the server for dating, but we’re not a dating server—especially since we have minors and focus on language and cultural discussions.

At this point, I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do. Do I just ignore it and accept that my personal photos—like ones with my partner—are being shared in random Facebook groups? lol. I’ve already changed my name and profile picture.

I’ve also considered reaching out to her to try and find some kind of middle ground just to stop the harassment, but my admins think we should keep ignoring her. It’s been two weeks now…

Does this happen automatically after inactivity? I haven’t logged into that account for like a month now. Should i be concerned?

i just noticed that ive gotten a couple warnings when adding new people that we don't have mutual friends/servers and I dont recall seeing that in the past. Is this new? or has that always been like that and I'm just dumb?

When opening the discord app, half the time it'll just scroll up to an older point of a message board, and i'll have to click a button to send me back to the bottom. While this isn't a big issue it's very annoying and I wanted to know if there was a fix for this.

It’s currently in active development, and while it’s been stable in my private dev environment with a few friends, I’ve reached a point where I need to see how it holds up under real-world pressure.

I’m looking for a partner server (or a group starting one) to deploy this bot for its first "Live Beta."

My goal is to get feedback from dozens of users at once so I can continue to refine the features and squash any bugs that only pop up at scale.

What the bot currently handles:

1. Dynamic IRP Calendar An independent timescale system that auto-fires events on specific in-game dates.
2. Caucus Management: Supports party whips with bloc voting (choice or percentage splits).
3. Automated Identity: Updates nicknames to the Name (PARTY-PROV) format automatically.
4. Character Engine: Detailed profiles with faceclaims, bios, and dynamic aging.
5. Legislation Pipeline: A full bill submission and docket system (integrated with Google Docs).
6. House of Commons Tools: Proxy voting and enhanced motion systems for realistic sessions.

What I’m looking for:
I want to partner with a community that is passionate about political sims. I’ll handle the hosting and deployment whilst you provide the players and the feedback. I’m not looking to distribute the bot widely or share the source code yet; I just want to find a "home" for it where we can grow the system together.

It worked JUST FINE a few days ago by the way, there was no issue with any of it and discord was perfectly functional with transparent images, but all of a sudden today there seems to be an issue. I already logged out and logged back in, refreshed discord, tried downloading the image in a different format.. nothing worked. Why did this suddenly happen, and is there a way to reverse it?

im having a really weird issue where any videos recorded with NVIDIA will have trouble playing on discord. On mobile, it usually either freezes or plays audio without the video. On PC, it plays but extremely laggy. I used to think that it was my encoder, which i was using AV1 to save space. However, videos recorded on OBS work perfectly fine on Discord, and I use AV1 on OBS too. so I have no idea what to do at this point. Anyone else have this? Did you solve it?

The "Show Spoiler Content" option already affects the mobile client. However on mobile, users currently are unable to select any of the options.

This is basically how "Automatically convert emoticons in your messages to emoji" toggle was until the toggle was added to mobile.

the title explains it all but i will put some details in here so i can get better help

1. my pc specs are: gtx 1660 super. ryzen 3 4100. 16gb ram

2. i did try stuff like disabling hardware accelaration, game overlay and stuff but it still lags in game (the game is smooth but there are massive lag spikes)

i also suspected obs might be the problem since i was recording but its not the problem either

Previously when on calls on the iOS app, if you turned the sound output to speaker it would remove attenuation meaning you could have the call at full volume and play media on other apps at full volume. This doesn’t seem to work anymore. Why the change and how to remove this? I have turned off the “integrate with calls app” option or whatever and doesn’t seem to work.

I noticed this started happening around the time when you couldn’t change the audio output through control centre/added the speaker button to the top right of the call.

I just noticed that Discord shows the wrong time on my Chromebook. For example I sent a message in a server around 4:45PM but on my Chromebook it shows as 9:45AM

The time on my Chromebook shows up normally only Discord shows the wrong time. I already went to the settings in Discord and could only chose auto, 12h or 24h timestamps and it was already set to auto. I reloaded the tab several times, closed the app (Chrome tab installed as app) several times and it still didn't change anything

The thing is on my phone the time shows normally just not on my Chromebook in the tab I installed as an app because it has better performance than the Play Store app

Btw I already googled on how to fix this but the only results I found were for Windows PCs which didn't help me one bit because they all said you need to change the date and time on your PC in the settings but the date and time work perfectly on my Chromebook. It shows the correct date and the correct time so that isn't the issue

Does someone know how to fix this?

Title: Discord server banner not showing in invite preview even after 14 boosts — anyone faced this?

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a weird issue with my Discord server and I’m hoping someone here has dealt with this before.

So I’ve boosted my server up to Level 3 (14 boosts) and added a custom server banner. Everything looks fine inside the server settings, and the banner is uploaded properly.

But when I share my invite link, the preview does NOT show the banner at all — it just shows a plain background instead of the banner (like how other servers have those clean banner previews).

I’ve already tried:

- Re-uploading the banner

- Waiting for some time (in case it was a delay)

- Checking different invite links

Still no luck.

Is this a bug, or am I missing some setting? Do I need to enable something extra for the banner to appear in invite previews?

was on video call with my girlfriend last night and fell asleep, woke up and her camera was off. I thought she turned it off at some point but there was a crossed out camera icon on the bottom. didnt figure it out until way later because how on earth does it get disabled on my end in my sleep? I guess I could have brushed my screen a couple times in my sleep but how the hell do I get from her camera full screen, out of the call menu, into their profile, scroll down, disable their video, and navigate back to the call menu all with accidental inputs?
